THE CANADIAN PRESS/Christinne Muschi A 17-year-old boy hit by multiple gunshots was sent to hospital Monday night, Montreal police say. Police said they received several 911 calls at around 6:30 p.m. reporting a person injured in a shooting near the intersection of Lacombe and Gatineau avenues in the city's Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-De-Grâce borough. When officers arrived, they found the teen with injuries to his upper and lower body. He was conscious when he was sent to hospital. 'Despite his [serious] injuries we don't fear for his life,' said Caroline Chèvrefils, a police spokesperson. She said more than one suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction before officers arrived on scene. Police also observed bullet holes in two parked cars near the scene of the shooting and some shell casings on the ground. The canine unit was called in to assist investigators, who are also speaking with witnesses. No arrests have been made.
