United Regional Volunteer
If you missed Aaron's story last night, Beverly Callender is one of many volunteers with United Regional. She has given just over 8,000 hours of volunteer work to the hospital over the past 27 years. She works in the gift shop where she socializes with patients, their family members, and occasionally delivers flowers. She says her experiences of meeting someone going through a grieving process or just needing someone to talk to are part of the reason why she has kept volunteering over the last 27 years.
Blubonnett photo op safety tips
This spring weather means you'll want to stop and take photos of the bluebonnets. TXDOT is sharing tips to keep you safe for your bluebonnet photo op. some safety tips are avoid area with high traffic and never pull onto the side of a busy highway. Also, TxDOT has just started developing a wildflower map, which is now available to the public. it's a work in progress, but it shows you which flowers are in which area of the cities. Also, watch out for those rattlesnakes!
Digitize your Texas home movies!
You can turn your old home movies from vhs tapes and dvds to digital pieces and preserve those memories forever. Since 2008, the Texas Archive, in partnership with the Texas Film Commission, has visited Lone Star communities and offered digitization services for any home videos with a connection to Texas. Those preserved videos are archived online. while not every birthday or parade is historic in its own right, together, they provide an intimate insight into our collective story as texans. The Texas Film Round-Up event will travel around the state until the end of May.

What potential fallout awaits when Ohio State sexual abuse documentary debuts
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Producers of a long-awaited documentary detailing decades of sexual abuse of young male athletes by a team doctor at the Ohio State University expect the film to get a lot of attention when it debuts on HBO next Tuesday. 'Surviving Ohio State,' the HBO documentary detailing Dr. Richard Strauss' 20 years of abusing young male athletes, debuted Monday night at the Tribeca Film Festival in front of a packed theater. Among those in the crowd were survivors of the doctor, who also appeared in the film. Also appearing in the film was NBC4's Colleen Marshall, who was in Manhattan for the premiere. Marshall and photographer Steve Wainfor interviewed many of the survivors for the award-winning series of reports, 'Culture of Cover-up.' As Fort Rapids sale looms, Columbus church eyes plan to redevelop waterpark Marshall said it was shocking to see the shared trauma of the survivors in the film and that premiere attendants left the theater with very strong opinions about Ohio State and its handling of the situation. Congressman and former Ohio State wrestling coach Jim Jordan denied any knowledge of Strauss' actions when NBC4 questioned him about reports that coaches were aware of sexual abuse allegations and aware of fencing coach Charlotte Remenyik reporting it. The film reveals that Remenyik lodged complaints to University leaders for 10 years, but nothing was done. A referee named Fred Feeney said he was groped and sexually harassed in the shower by Strauss and reported it to Jordan. Feeney claimed Jordan's response was 'That's just Strauss.' 'Surviving Ohio State' is a two-hour film and will be shown in two different theaters Tuesday night as part of the 12-day film festival.
