As India prepare for their five-Test tour of England beginning June 20 in Leeds,
Kuldeep Yadav
sees promising signs for spinners amid seam-friendly conditions. With Ravichandran Ashwin retiring earlier this year, the spotlight now falls on the left-arm wrist spinner to support
Ravindra Jadeja
as India eye their first series win in England since 2007.
Kuldeep, who has played only one Test in England, is optimistic after observing spin-friendly behaviour in the ongoing intra-squad practice match.

"The wickets are looking good for spinners," he said on the sidelines of the game. "First day there was moisture, seamers got help but as the game progressed, spinners got into the game. There is bounce for spinners. The ball is turning a bit and I hope it stays the same during the series."

Do you believe Kuldeep Yadav can lead India's spin attack successfully in England?
Yes, he has the potential.
No, he lacks experience.
With Jadeja now the senior figure in the spin department, Kuldeep has been using the opportunity to build synergy. "I'm having regular chats with Jaddu bhai on how to bowl to certain batters, on field placements. We're spending a lot of time together on and off the field, and that's helping tactically," he said.
India are playing India A in a four-day warm-up, and Kuldeep emphasised the need for bowling volume to transition back into the longer format.
Kuldeep Yadav hints at spin-friendly wicket ahead of England Test series
"We've played a lot of T20s recently, so bowling 15-20 overs is crucial for rhythm. Same for spinners—the more you bowl, the better," he noted.
He also praised new Test captain
Shubman Gill
's early leadership. "Shubman is motivated and knows how to lead. He's learned a lot from Rohit bhai and is focusing on team spirit," Kuldeep said.

AP The Shubman Gill-led India squad for the upcoming England Test series that the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee had announced last month might not be set in stone, with pacer Harshit Rana having been asked to stay back after the conclusion of India A's matches in England. Rana, who had made his international debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia recently, was part of the India A team that played two unofficial Tests against England Lions along with an intra-squad match against the Gill-led Indian team that will be in action four days from now. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Rana to not board the flight back to India with the rest of the India A squad According to RevSportz, Rana will not be boarding the flight back to India along with rest of the India A squad on Tuesday, 17 June, and has been asked to stay back in England with the main squad. However, it's yet to be confirmed whether Rana has officially been added to the Gill-led squad, or whether he simply is on standby at the moment. Rana had played the first unofficial Test against the James Rew-led England Lions team in Canterbury, collecting a solitary wicket, that of Josh Hull, for 99 runs. Several members of the India A squad have reportedly received offers from County teams, but it isn't clear whether Rana's case is of a similar nature. The Agarkar-led selection committee back picked Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur in the pace department for the tour of England along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been picked as the lone seam-bowling all-rounder for the upcoming series. Mohammed Shami, who had made his return to the Indian team after spending more than a year on the sidelines, was overlooked for the tour, as was Rana – who had played the first two Tests in the tour of Australia, collecting 3/48 in his first outing in Perth.

Matthew Hayden reveals how India can tame England in upcoming Test series
Former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden has revealed how India can win the upcoming Test series in England. India and England are set to lock horns in a five-match Test series beginning from June 20, which will also mark the start of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle of the all-important series, India have been depleted after the retirements of their senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hence, not many are backing the Asian Giants to emerge victorious in the upcoming series. However, Matthew Hayden feels that India can prove the pundits wrong if they win the Tests in the challenging conditions of Leeds and also mentioned how England's bowling attack, which is marred by injuries, can aid India's cause. "I don't think England bowlers are that good, they have got a number of injuries and a number of retirees as well, that will be the challenge. The northern Test matches when it's zipping around that will be key, win that one and it could well be a series that goes India's way," Hayden said on 'JioHotstar'.The injury issues have piled up for England ahead of the all-important series as speedster Mark Wood has been ruled out of at least the first three Tests due to injury. Jofra Archer will also miss the opening game while Gus Atkinson is continuing to recover from a hamstring all the injuries, England have even invited young towering fast bowler Eddie Jack to practice with the team. The 19-year-old seamer from Hampshire got the selectors' attention after dismissing KL Rahul in the second unofficial Test between India A and England remains to be seen how England's fast-bowling attack fares against a young Indian batting lineup led by captain Shubman Gill, who will have the massive task of captaining the team on an overseas Watch
