In light of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has issued an official advisory requesting comprehensive support for tourists currently in or planning to travel to the region.
Dated April 23, 2025, the directive has been issued to a wide range of travel ecosystem stakeholders—including Online Travel Aggregators (OTAs), travel agents, tour operators, hotel chains, and transport providers. It requests that these entities extend all possible assistance to affected tourists, including waiving off cancellation charges for bookings made in the Kashmir region.
The letter, signed by Tourism Secretary V. Vidyavathi, specifically urges platforms such as MakeMyTrip, Yatra, Goibibo, ClearTrip, EaseMyTrip, Ixigo, Airbnb, Agoda, Thrillophilia, Booking.com, and Expedia to cooperate. It also encourages the broader Tourism and Hospitality Industry Associations to support the initiative.
The Ministry has also sent copies of the advisory to the Department of Tourism, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for information and appropriate action.
This move comes amid heightened concerns for the safety of tourists following the April 21 Pahalgam incident, which led to a sharp increase in outbound flight traffic from Srinagar. The Centre's initiative seeks to minimize disruption for travelers and ensure coordinated support during this sensitive period.

Motilal Oswal maintains neutral on Tata Chemicals, raises target to Rs 970 on stable India-UK ops and cautious global outlook

By News Desk Published on July 28, 2025, 08:56 IST Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOSL) has maintained a Neutral rating on Tata Chemicals, while raising the target price to ₹970 from ₹950. The revised target implies a modest upside from the current market price of ₹946.55. The brokerage highlighted that the company's India and UK operations are driving its overall operating performance. Tata Chemicals has guided for an annual maintenance capex of ₹1,000 crore in FY26 to support its ongoing operations. MOSL noted that the soda ash segment continues to face a soft demand-supply balance, compounded by tariff-related uncertainties in global trade. Overcapacity remains a key concern, especially with the presence of unviable global supply sources. However, the brokerage pointed out that potential long-term maintenance shutdowns at a major Chinese plant could help rebalance global supply dynamics, providing support to market conditions in the medium to long term. Dr Reddy's share: Jefferies sees 12% downside after Q1 miss, cuts target to Rs 1,100

By News Desk Published on July 24, 2025, 08:35 IST Jefferies has maintained its Underperform rating on Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, lowering expectations with a target price of ₹1,100 per share. This implies a 12% downside from the current market price of ₹1,248.00. The brokerage flagged that Q1FY26 earnings missed estimates, primarily due to lower US sales, which were impacted by a sequential decline in both the gRevlimid contribution and the base business. In contrast, performance in other markets was largely in line with expectations. Jefferies also noted that SG&A expenses and R&D investments remained elevated during the quarter, weighing on profitability. Looking ahead, the brokerage is closely watching two pipeline triggers: Approval of gOzempic in Canada U.S. filing for Abatacept Jefferies has built in a timely launch and meaningful sales contribution from both products into its base case but remains cautious due to the near-term headwinds.
