Livvy Dunne back on apartment hunt in NYC after Babe Ruth controversy
The retired NCAA gymnast, who was denied by a co-op board from attempting to purchase Babe Ruth's former Upper West Side apartment, was scouting real estate, as seen Sunday in a video on her TikTok.
'What the nyc realtor's hear when I'm back in nyc looking for an apartment,' Dunne, 22, wrote, including a clip of her skipping on the sidewalk.
'It isn't Babe Ruth's apartment but it'll do,' added the former LSU champion gymnast.
Dunne, a native of New Jersey and the girlfriend of Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, didn't elaborate about her apartment search.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model made waves after she struck out in her bid to buy Ruth's former New York City home — a seventh-floor, three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom pre-war residence at 345 W. 88th St.
The co-op board in the Upper West Side building rejected Dunne's purchase — a $1.59 million, all-cash deal — days before she was set to pick up the keys, she said in a TikTok video.

'I get a call. The co-op board denied me,' Dunne told her eight million followers in a video titled, 'I'm just disappointed that's all.'
'Pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine. It got to the point where the realtor was so confident, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn't want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth's apartment, that would be like, criminal.'

Dunne explained that she had 'no clue' why she was rejected to purchase the apartment, which she said would've been her first real estate purchase.
However, The Post learned from one resident in the West 88th Street building that Dunne's online presence was too much for the board.

The seller's agent from Compass told The Post their team was 'all shocked and displeased' by the board's rejection, and tried unsuccessfully to get them to reconsider.
'The managing agent got back to me days later and said the board decision was final and that was it,' the seller's agent said. 'The seller's real estate attorney liquidated (Dunne's) deposit and that was it and we're back on the market.'
The board doesn't have to disclose why they turned Dunne down, the agent noted.

Viral "Poop Rule" Might Help ADHDers Declutter
Decluttering your space can feel like a Herculean task that you'd much rather put off than tackle. But one simple and comically named rule of thumb may help you make some headway. It's called the 'poop rule.' When trying to decide if you should keep or get rid of an item, ask yourself this question: If the object had poop on it, would I wash it off or throw it away? This 'rule' went viral after ADHD content creator Becka Karle, known as @adhdorganized on TikTok, posted a video on the social media platform about it in July. The video racked up 175,000 views on TikTok before making the rounds on other social media sites. Karle told HuffPost she first heard about the poop rule from a therapist she was seeing to help manage her attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms. At the time, Karle was downsizing her home, having a hard time going through and purging items she had accumulated over the years. Difficulty staying organized is a common challenge among people with ADHD (more on that below). Her therapist told her to pick up each item in her hands and actually picture poop on it. 'Like an old toiletry or something would be gross, right? So my therapist was like, 'Would you wash poop off that?' And I was like, 'Absolutely not. It would be all in the cracks, you know?'' Karle said. 'And she was like, 'Exactly. Now, what about a shirt that you wear to work a lot?' And I'm like, 'Honestly, I probably would wash it.'' Karle said the poop rule worked for her because she's 'a very visual and literal person' and it kept her 'accountable.' In the comments of Karle's viral video, one TikTok user compared the poop rule to Marie Kondo 's own tidying technique but with a twist, writing, ' Kondo's 'Does this spark joy?' made more visceral? Love it.' 'Many folks with ADHD have challenges consistently using our executive function skills — the brain-based skills that help us translate complex task-oriented thoughts into goal-directed actions that help us 'execute' a behavior,' Carvin said. Executive function skills help you do things like remember to complete certain tasks and the steps necessary to get them done, to keep track of information and items needed to do tasks, to plan and prioritize while also responding to changes in demands, and to manage your attention, time and emotions while executing a task without losing interest or motivation, Carvin explained. If you have a hard time with executive dysfunction, organizing and tidying your home can be hard to do 'especially without getting distracted, tired or bored,' Carvin said. Carvin said she would recommend the poop rule as a decluttering tip 'for the right client with the right sense of humor' because it 'helps to simplify the complex decision-making process around decluttering that ADHDers might struggle with because of executive dysfunction.' 'The strategy addresses the decision to keep an item or not in a clever, concrete and clear way that could work well for the right client,' she added. You don't need to have ADHD to benefit from the poop rule. If you find it useful, you can employ it to help make those tricky decisions about which items are important enough to hold onto and which ones you'd be better off donating or getting rid of during your next decluttering effort. Sydney Sweeney ‘good genes' ad courts controversy
An ad campaign from American Eagle featuring actress Sydney Sweeney has sparked backlash over what users on social media have deemed racist undertones — or overtones, some say. Much of the criticism has swirled around the campaign's title: 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,' a play on 'good genes.' 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,' she says in one video. 'My jeans are blue.' As part of the campaign, American Eagle is launching a pair of jeans produced in collaboration with Sweeney to raise awareness for domestic violence. The proceeds from each pair's sale, the company says, will go towards a volunteer crisis intervention text line. Many online commentators, however, honed in on how the blond-haired, blue-eyed actress was repping a prominent American brand in such fashion at a time when the Trump administration has attacked diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and moved to aggressively deport immigrants. Sayantani DasGupta, a lecturer at Columbia University, said in a TikTok video that the campaign was 'really imbued with eugenic messaging' and compared its tagline to remarks President Trump made in 2020 about how Minnesotans had 'good genes.' 'It is both a testament to this political moment, and it's contributing to and reinforcing this kind of anti-immigrant, anti-people of color, pro-eugenic political moment,' she said of the campaign, adding that she planned to teach it in one of her courses in Columbia's narrative medicine program in the fall. DasGupta's video has garnered more than three million views. In another video, the reference to genes is overt: Sweeney, clad in denim, is shown painting over a mural of herself with the words 'Sydney Sweeney has great genes.' Despite the backlash, American Eagle stocks have jumped, up 20 percent over the past five days. Many observers have deemed it a meme stock. The campaign also bears similarities to a 1980s campaign by actress Brooke Shields for Calvin Klein, which also relied on plays between genes and jeans.
