Stevenage's first-half showing against Rotherham ‘above Wrexham'
It was the same score as that victory over the Welsh side in October and came with a superb hard-working effort matched by this success over the Millers.
Jamie Reid's deft header after 40 minutes had given Boro an interval lead and they should have put the game to bed as they passed up a succession of chances in the second half.
Revell said: 'For me, the first half was one of the best I've seen. I put that above Wrexham.
'I thought we had everything. We had energy, the start we wanted where we asked for runners in behind to get crosses and shots.
'That was an excellent performance and then second half, you saw a resilient team that put their bodies on the line in certain moments.
'We had 12 shots and not enough on target but we restricted them to five and none on target.
'That tells a story from the game. It was only going to be a set-piece they scored from because other than that, we were strong and dominant.'
And the boss had praise for Northern Ireland international Reid as he followed up a brace in the win over Blackpool last time out.
He added: 'All of a sudden we've got wide players and overlapping full-backs that want to put crosses in the box.
'The delivery for the goal was right and the movement was right, but the execution of his header was top class. It was another performance where he just grows.
'I'm delighted for him as it's his hard work and energy that gets us the win.'
Rotherham manager Matt Hamshaw was left to look at what ifs in a toothless display that brought no shots on target.
He said: 'I'm disappointed and frustrated but I know what we've got in this group.
'We're up and down and we've got to stop this not turning up for halves of football.
'First half we didn't turn up. We could have gone in 0-0 at half-time but they get the lead and then they're hanging on a little bit, but we were huffing and puffing and not creating a lot.
'I'm not going to rant and rave as it's only the second game of season, but the levels have got to improve as we didn't show anywhere near enough quality.
'Stevenage are a hard-working team and they put balls into the box, but I felt for the majority of the game we dealt with that.
'But they could have arguably won 2-0 or 3-0 with the chances created, albeit on the counter attack – and it didn't look like we had much.'

Josh Windass is 13/2 to score first in his side's Carabao Cup clash Tuesday - as Championship clubs Wrexham and Hull City clash in the first round
Round One of the Carabao Cup gets underway Tuesday - with 30 fixtures scheduled to take place. It is the match-up between Championship clubs Wrexham and Hull City that we will be focussing on in this article - as the pair clash in North Wales. Despite their heartbreaking loss in the dying stages against Southampton in their opening Championship game of the season - Wrexham are 13/10 favourites to reign supreme at home Tuesday. Conversely, Hull are 17/10 outsiders to upset the applecart in enemy territory according to Sky Bet. Elsewhere, in a separate market - Ollie Palmer and Ryan Hardie are the best-backed to score first at 5/1 odds. Smith had a strong campaign for Reading in League One last season - with the centre-forward netting 18 goals. Meanwhile, Josh Windass - who found the back of the net first in Wrexham's aforementioned loss to Southampton - is a 13/2 fourth-favourite to do so yet again in Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash. Can Wrexham spark cup run with triumph over Hull City?
Predictions weren't my forte last season, but I nailed the opening one of Wrexham's Championship campaign. I got the 2-1 scoreline at Southampton spot on - and I'd also explained to somebody a couple of hours prior to kick-off exactly how things would pan out! My remaining predictions this season aren't going to hit those heights - and tonight's match-up with Hull City is going to be a tricky one to look at. Lewis O'Brien and Conor Coady are going to be the Reds' heartbeats in the league this season, but I don't expect either of them to feature tonight. Phil Parkinson will tinker with his starting line-up - and there are plenty of players to choose from. Expecting Arthur Okonkwo to come in for his first appearance between the sticks this season and, if selected, it will be interesting to see how Sam Smith and Ryan Hardie get on up front. The League Cup's not a competition the Reds have mastered since returning to the EFL. I'm still anticipating a home win and it would be nice to have a decent cup run. OUR PREDICTIONS: WREXHAM 1 HULL CITY 0 NICK HARRISON WREXHAM 2 HULL CITY 1 RICHARD WILLIAMS WREXHAM 2 HULL CITY 1 SHAUN DAVIES THE SCORES SO HARRISON 3; SHAUN DAVIES 3; RICHARD WILLIAMS 0

Wales striker Kayleigh Barton to retire from football
Cymru's Kayleigh Barton has announced her retirement from football at the age of 37. The Charlton Athletic striker, who has scored 22 goals for Wales, was part of the squad at this year's UEFA's Women's Euros in Switzerland. With 89 caps, Barton is now to take on the role of Cymru's Women's under 17s Assistant Coach for FAW. In a statement, Barton said: "Ever since a young age, I've always loved football. From playing in the garden with my younger brothers, having the first letter for my Cymru age group call up, to representing the senior team at our first ever major finals. "I've had a phenomenal football career both representing my country and at club level, and it's something that I'm so proud of." Barton, from Cardiff, began her career at the city's club in 2012 before moving onto Yeovil Town in 2016, where she spent time on loan to Chieti Calcio Femminile. She then moved on to play for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018, before joining Charlton Athletic in 2023. Barton added: "To my friends and family... I can't thank you enough for always supporting me throughout my football career. To the two people who have been there from the very beginning: you've travelled the country to watch me play, and even now, you continue to support every decision I make. Thank you – from the bottom of my heart. "What a journey it's been. I've experienced incredible highs and tough lows, but those moments are what made this path so special. Barton also thanked Welsh fans: "Throughout my career the Red Wall have always supported us, and you have all been phenomenal. When you travel away with us, we can hear the noise. "Please make sure you continue to support the team through thick and thin, and I will be in the stands with you doing the same." She concluded: "In football, you fight and go through it for so many years. There are so many highs, so many lows, but to finally achieve something that you've always want to do as a young girl and represent your country on the world stage. It means everything. "I'll definitely miss you all, but I think now is the time to say goodbye. Diolch am bopeth."
