
Adityanath announces 6 new forensic labs
Encouraging police personnel, he remarked, 'The UP Police must continue to upgrade itself with modern technologies to build a safe and technologically empowered society for the future.' Adityanath made these statements while inaugurating the three-day international summit on the Dimensions of Cyber War, Multilateral Legal Framework, Forensics, and Strategic Countermeasures, organised on the third foundation day of the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) in Lucknow on Monday.
He further informed that mobile forensic units have been deployed in all 75 districts, and that cyber police stations have been set up across the state. Additionally, cyber help desks have also been opened in 1,587 police stations, where cases are being resolved with the support of master trainers.
The chief minister stated that since 2017, forensic evidence has been made mandatory in solving every crime. 'From July 2024, forensic evidence has become compulsory in all cases carrying a punishment of over seven years,' he said, adding that the UP Police has initiated steps to establish a cyber headquarters to counter cybercrime effectively.
He further claimed that, unlike the situation before 2017 when it often took years to nab criminals, the Uttar Pradesh Police now apprehends wrongdoers within 24 to 48 hours, aided by technology and forensic science.
Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated the Padma Shri Dr. Lalji Singh Advanced DNA Diagnostic Centre, the AI, Drone, and Robotics Lab, and the Atal Library. He also distributed smart tablets to students and flagged off 75 mobile forensic vans.

UP Scholarship: The Yogi Adityanath administration has partnered with the United Kingdom to provide the esteemed Chevening Scholarship Program in Uttar Pradesh as part of an effort to improve the career possibilities of students from the state. Students who have demonstrated extraordinary academic achievement are eligible to apply for the Chevening UP Atal Scholarship, the UP government's new foreign scholarship program. UP Atal Scholarship: Official statement The British High Commission to India stated in an official statement, "The UK Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to offer the prestigious Chevening Scholarship Programme in the state. Under the agreement signed today in Lucknow in the presence of CM Yogi Adityanath and British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron, up to 15 scholars from the state will be eligible for full financial support to pursue a one-year master's in the UK". The statement added, "The Chevening programme in India is the largest in the world, benefitting over 3,900 scholars and fellows since 1983, demonstrating the UK's commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow. Chevening alumni use their world-class education and global networks gained in the UK to create meaningful, lasting change when they return home, whether by tackling global challenges or making a tangible impact in their own communities". High Commissioner Cameron said ANI, "It's wonderful to be here in Lucknow today to sign with the Chief Minister the agreement on the new Chevening scholarships which we're announcing together between the United Kingdom and Uttar Pradesh. This will allow five students every year for the next three years to go to the UK on a fully funded scholarship, which is part of the fantastic and growing relationship between the United Kingdom and India". About UP Atal Scholarship 2025 The program is intended for students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Under it, the government will pay for nearly all costs, such as annual travel between India and the UK, tuition, exam fees, housing, and food. According to officials, each student's sponsorship would cost between Rs 45 and Rs 48 lakh. Five students have been chosen to complete their master's degrees in England as part of the first phase. The Uttar Pradesh government and the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) have partnered to make the program happen. The deal was struck at the Lucknow home of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The scholarship will assist train UP's young for leadership roles on the international scene, the Chief Minister remarked during the launch. The program's initial duration is 3 years. To be eligible, candidates must get an unconditional offer from a minimum of one program. Govt asks depts to prepare plan for Viksit UP 2047
1 2 Lucknow: The plan for Viksit UP-2047, which coincides with the idea of Viksit Bharat by the centenary year of India's independence, has gathered momentum after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared a detailed proposal in the monsoon session of the UP Assembly last week. All departments have been directed to frame their plan of action, and a vision document will be prepared within the next 4-6 months. The plan will focus on 12 sectors, each encompassing various departments. Short-term goals, looking at developments within the next five years, and medium and long-term goals have been identified, and the planning department has been deputed to lead implementation and ensure coordination among CM had said in the Assembly that UP was already on the path of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy by 2029-30, for which it had set a target of a growth rate of over 20% in the next five years. "By 2047, when India would be a USD 30 trillion economy, UP should be the largest contributor to India's progress with an economy of USD 6 trillion," the CM had govt will also seek suggestions from the public and will organise campaigns through various media platforms to solicit proposals.
