IHM-Hyderabad Hosts Grand Annual Awards Ceremony 2024–25
Hyderabad: The Institute of Hotel Management, Hyderabad (IHM-Hyderabad), a premier central government institute under the Ministry of Tourism, held its Annual Awards Ceremony for the academic year 2024–25 here on Tuesday. The event was a celebration of academic excellence, placements, and student achievements, reflecting the institute's continued commitment to nurturing future leaders in the hospitality industry.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Sri Pradyumna Krishna Dasa (Spiritual Leader, ISKCON), Yamuna Ranga Rao (Founding Principal, IHM-Hyderabad), and several senior professionals from the hospitality and academic sectors. Their presence added significance and inspiration to the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of top academic performers, sports champions from the Yamuna Ranga Rao Trophy: Inter-College Sports Meet, and winners of the Inter-collegiate Flower Arrangement Competition.
Placement achievements were prominently celebrated, with two students placed at Ritz Carlton, Naples, and over 60 students selected as Management Trainees in leading hotel chains. More than 100 students were acknowledged for placements across diverse sectors, underlining the institute's robust industry connect and student readiness.
Inspirational addresses by dignitaries added depth to the ceremony. Pradyumna Krishna Dasa spoke on balancing professional life with Emotional and Spiritual Quotients, while Dr. Raja Rao shared a personal story of transformation through hospitality education. Industry leaders such as Mr. Pankaj Sampat and Mr. Abhishek Menon shared insights into the dynamic world of hospitality and their professional journeys.
The event also featured the release of the 39th edition of the institute's Annual Magazine, Cackle, themed 'Food and Spirituality,' showcasing student creativity and yearly highlights.

A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Hyderabad was forced to return to Germany on June 15 following a 'bomb threat,' officials confirmed on Monday. According to Hyderabad airport officials, the threat was received via email at around 6:01 PM on Saturday. 'A bomb threat assessment committee was formed, and all procedures were followed as per SOP,' said an official source, reported ANI. Lufthansa flight LH752 had departed from Frankfurt and was scheduled to land in Hyderabad early Sunday morning. However, after receiving the threat, authorities decided not to allow the aircraft to enter Indian airspace. An official from Hyderabad airport told ANI that the plane returned to Germany because the threat came while it was still outside India. Lufthansa also confirmed, "We did not receive a permit to land in Hyderabad and that's why the aircraft took a u-turn and returned." A passenger on board the Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight LH752 said on Sunday that they were informed mid-air about the flight being denied permission to land in Hyderabad. Speaking to PTI from Frankfurt Airport, the passenger said, 'Hyderabad hasn't given permission to land the flight there.' Describing the situation, the person added, 'It was a smooth flight and after about two hours in the air, we were told that we would be returning to Frankfurt.' She was travelling from the US to visit her mother in Hyderabad. A spokesperson for Frankfurt Airport confirmed that the flight had landed back in Germany. According to officials cited by PTI, Air Traffic Control at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad received a message shortly after takeoff that the aircraft would be returning to Frankfurt. This is the second such incident in recent days. On June 13, an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi received a bomb threat and had to make an emergency landing in Thailand.

According to official sources, the Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight took off from Frankfurt on June 15 and was supposed to reach its destination early this morning. However, after an email was received at Hyderabad airport about targeting the flight with a bomb at 6:01 PM on June 15, out of an abundance of caution, the flight was advised to return. Meanwhile, a Lufthansa spokesperson said that the flight was diverted out of an abundance of caution, and that the passengers were provided accommodation as they departed for Hyderabad today. In a similar incident on June 13, a Delhi-bound Air India flight coming from Thailand's Phuket received a bomb threat and made an emergency landing on the island, according to airport authorities. The Air India flight AI 379 took off from Phuket at 9.30 and was on its way to New Delhi before it was diverted.

Kellton Tech board OKs 1:5 stock split proposal; to raise Rs 69.3 crore via preferential issue of warrants
Kellton Tech Solutions said that its board has approved a proposal to split each equity share of the company having a face value of Rs 5 into five equity shares with a face value of Re 1 each. The company stated that the stock split has been executed in order to enhance the liquidity of its equity shares in the stock market and encourage wider participation of small and retail investors by making the shares more affordable. The company expects to complete the stock split process within a period of approximately 3 months from the date of receipt of shareholders approval and subject to necessary regulatory approvals. The record date for the purpose of the above sub-division of equity shares shall be decided after obtaining approval of the shareholders through EGM, Kellton Tech said in a statement. At the same meeting, the board of the company has also approved a proposal to raise funds through issue and allotment of up to 55 lakhs warrants, convertible into one equity share of face value of Rs 5 each, to certain promoter and non-promoter investors, on preferential basis. The warrant would be issued at a price of Rs 126 apiece and the total consideration would amount to Rs 69.30 crore. The company will hold an extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM) on Friday, 11 July 2025to seek approval of shareholders of the company for the aforementioned proposals. Hyderabad-headquartered Kellton Tech Solutions offers digital solutions, advisory services and serving as systems integrator to over 300 clients globally, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises. The company has a global footprint in India, the US, the UK, Ireland, Poland and Singapore with around 1,400 employees. The company had reported 19.77% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 19.20 crore despite a 15.53% increase in net sales to Rs 286.33 crore in Q4 FY25 as compared with Q4 FY24. The scrip declined 3.56% to currently trade at Rs 126.05 on the BSE.
