Huge sign Hugh Jackman's ex is finally over him
Deborra-Lee Furness is believed to be feeling ready to put herself back out there following her divorce from Hugh Jackman. Furness, 69, and Jackman, 56, stunned fans when they announced their split back in 2023 after 27 years of marriage. While Furness has remained single ever since their break-up, Jackman has entered a very public romance with fellow Broadway star Sutton Foster. An insider has now claimed that those closest to her are 'encouraging' her to be open to finding romance with a new man. 'Deb is finally starting to heal and talk about what she wants in her life going forward,' an insider told Woman's Day magazine. 'She's got an incredible support system that's been there every step of the way, helping her to pick up the pieces of her life. 'They are encouraging her to start dating again.' It's been a difficult few months for Furness, who shocked fans when she released a bombshell statement recently calling out Jackman. 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' Furness said. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.'' Furness went on to say that she had 'gained much knowledge and wisdom' through 'the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage'. 'It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom,' she said. Furness finished the statement by offering the 'one thing' she had learned in the split: 'That none of this is personal.' She said she remained 'grateful' for her time with Jackman. Jackman was linked to his Broadway co-star Sutton Foster, 50, soon after his split from Furness was announced, and the pair were spotted kissing in public for the first time in January of this year. Foster had filed for divorce from her Ocean's Eleven screenwriter husband Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage in October last year. Jackman and Foster, who had known each other for years, co-starred in The Music Man on Broadway from 2021 to 2023. Speaking to the Herald Sun in January this year, Furness said she was feeling positive about the future, offering that she was now in 'chapter three' of her life following her shock split from her husband of several decades. 'I've had a few offers for films back here so I'm still reading some scripts so if there's something that's great,' she said. 'I've got some projects in New York. I'm in my chapter three. I'm a creative, I love being creative in a variety of areas and I think I'll be doing more travelling.'
