When is Australia vs British & Irish Lions? Kick-off time, channel and how to watch third Test

The British and Irish Lions are bidding to complete a clean sweep of the Wallabies as they take on Australia in the third and final Test in Sydney. The tourists edged a thriller in Melbourne to secure the series with a game to spare - but their win was not without controversy with debate still raging over the legality of Jac Morgan's ruck clearout in the lead-up to Hugo Keenan's try. It could the hosts with scores to settle as they bid to avoid being the first side whitewashed by the Lions since Argentina in 1927. The Lions, though, will be intent on making history as they attempt to ensure a winning finish to a trip on which they remain unbeaten on Australian soil. Here's everything you need to know. When is Australia vs the Lions? The Wallabies host the Lions in the third Test at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Saturday 2 August, with kick off scheduled for 11am BST. How can I watch it? Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the match live on Sky Sports. A live stream will be available via Sky Go and NOW. Team news The Wallabies are weakened by a couple of injuries, with Rob Valetini's fitness being closely managed with a view to the Rugby Championship, Allan Alaalatoa out due to a shoulder injury and Harry Potter ruled out with a hamstring issue. Tom Hooper steps in on the blindside, Taniela Tupou at tighthead and Dylan Pietsch wears No 11. There was late upheaval on Friday, too, with not one but a pair of hookers scratched from Joe Schmidt's squad. David Porecki had been picked to start but is ruled out with a heel problem, and Matt Faessler is out with a calf strain. Billy Pollard starts and Brandon Paenga-Amosa, not even with the Wallabies squad until Thursday, is on the bench. Andy Farrell makes minimal changes to his British and Irish Lions side, largely trusting those who got the job done in Melbourne to go again. The exceptions are on the left wing and at lock, where Blair Kinghorn and James Ryan both earn starts after strong showings from the bench in the second Test. Their are six forwards waiting among the replacements, including a returning Ben Earl, who can also provide centre or even wing cover if required. Louis Rees-Zammit reveals he will be signing for a new team imminently - after the former Wales star announced he would leave American football to return to rugby

Louis Rees-Zammit has revealed that he expects to sign with a new club in the coming weeks as he prepares for a return to rugby union. Rees-Zammit shocked the sporting world in January of last year when he abruptly retired from the sport in order to pursue a career in American football. The 24-year-old was brought on as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway and initially signed with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ultimately though the Welshman did not earn a call up to the Jaguars' active 53-roster, despite IPP rules allowing for it on two separate occasions and did not play a singular regular-season game. On Friday Rees-Zammit announced on social media that he would end his foray into gridiron football calling it a ''great experience'. The news has led to much speculation as to where the former Gloucester star will continue his career, and he insisted fans will not need to wait long to find out. Rees-Zammit retired from rugby to pursue American football but ultimately did not feature in a regular season game for the two teams he contracted to 'Obviously I can't name teams,' Rees-Zammit told Sky Sports. 'But we've had a load of interest, which is unbelievable. I'm very grateful for that. 'We're still going through what the full plan is for me. The season starts pretty soon, so it's about finding the right team for me in terms of location, in terms of how quick I've got to get into camp.' He continued: 'Because the season's right around the corner so all these things are going to happen pretty sharpish. 'Me and my brother are going through negotiations and seeing teams interested which is which is amazing so we should we should find out in the next week or so.'

Captain Monaghan 'emotional' over Ireland return

Rugby World Cup warm-up: Ireland v ScotlandVenue: Musgrave Park, Cork Date: Saturday, 2 August Kick-off: 14:00 BSTCoverage: Live on BBC iPlayer and website with live text commentary on the website and app Ireland skipper Sam Monaghan says she will "savour every moment" of her return from injury after 13 months on the sidelines. The lock injured her ACL representing her club Gloucester Hartpury in June 2024 before calf and hamstring injuries further delayed her return to action. Now able to see "light at the end of the tunnel", the 32-year-old has been named to start in the second row for Ireland's World Cup warm-up fixture against Scotland in Cork on Saturday. "It was really emotional seeing my name on the teamsheet again, not only for me but for my family, team-mates, everyone that's been on the journey with me, physios, S&Cs," said Monaghan."You build up a hunger. It's kind of like you've been starving for the last 13 months and you finally get your opportunity."I'm sure I'll really savour every moment and just want to do the best I can for the squad around me. They've really looked after me the last year so I'll be extremely excited to get back out on the pitch with them." Monaghan's second row partner on Saturday, Eimear Corri-Fallon, has also struggled with injuries over the past year."Me and Eimear have played together before in Dubai [at the WXV tournament in 2023] and Six Nations so we have that second row connection. "Unfortunately, both of us had a bit of a rough year so we're kind of on the same journey at the minute. It's nice to come back out on the pitch together."Monaghan and Corri-Fallon are not the only returning players to Ireland's panel for what is the first of two warm-up fixtures before the World Cup which begins in England later this Beibhinn Parsons, who broke her leg in December, will also start at Musgrave Park as Scott Bemand's side build towards the tournament where they will be in a pool alongside Japan, Spain and New Zealand. Ireland, however, have already been dealt a series of injury blows with key forwards Dorothy Wall and Erin King ruled out of the World Cup, while 2025 Six Nations Player of the Championship Aoife Wafer is a doubt. "Injuries are always so tough. We've such a strong connection as a group so when we lose someone we really feel it," Monaghan said."On and off the pitch they are such big characters, but they are both working extremely hard and I know how tough a journey it can be."That's high-level sport. It's given the opportunity for someone else to come in and we've had other girls come in and put their hand up and really perform."
