Barcelona confirm Camp Nou return date with matches to be played in unfinished 99,354-seater stadium
BARCELONA have confirmed the official reopening date for the Camp Nou.
The iconic stadium has been undergoing a period of redevelopment over the last two years.

It was initially expected to open at the end of last year, but a series of delays pushed the date back.
Now, six months on, the day of the official reopening has been confirmed.
Barcelona will return to the Camp Nou on August 10 for the Joan Gamper Trophy match - a yearly event which takes place just before the start of the La Liga season.
However, the stadium will not be fully completed by then.
A club statement revealed that some areas of the ground are still being developed.
It read: "Remaining works include the completion of the new third tier, the dual VIP ring, the roof installation, and the final touches to various interior spaces, as well as the urban development of the stadium's surrounding area.
"During this period, the Club will strive to ensure the highest level of comfort for members, fans, and visitors to the Spotify Camp Nou, facilitating access and adapting services to offer the best possible experience."
The statement continued: "To celebrate this moment, FC Barcelona has launched an epic and emotional campaign under the slogan 'Tornem a casa, vibrem'.
"The campaign includes a wide range of actions and activations across the city and digital platforms, aimed at reinforcing the connection between the Club, its fans, and the city of Barcelona—as well as with culers around the world.
"Some campaign elements have already been released, with more initiatives to follow and details to be shared through the Club's official channels.
"With this return, FC Barcelona takes a symbolic and emotional step into the future, reclaiming its home in a new era that will culminate with the complete inauguration of the new stadium."
Barcelona's opponents for the Joan Gamper Trophy match are yet to be confirmed, although Serie A side Como are allegedly in the frame.
The stadium will operate at a reduced capacity between 50,000 and 60,000 fans when first opened.
It will then increase to more than 99,000 upon completion.
The new stadium is expected to cost Barcelona £1.25billion overall.
But it is also anticipated to earn the club an extra £25million per year in revenue.
Since leaving the Nou Camp, Barcelona have been playing their home matches at the nearby Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.

Teenage Argentine player Nuin dies during knee surgery
June 25 (Reuters) - Camilo Nuin, an 18-year-old player for Argentina's San Telmo, died on Wednesday during knee surgery, the second-division club confirmed. The procedure - commonly performed on athletes - was intended to treat meniscal and cruciate ligament injuries to restore stability to the joint. "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Camilo Ernesto Nuin, a player in our Youth and Reserve Divisions, who was undergoing surgery today," San Telmo said on its official X account. "The club will remain closed today as a sign of mourning. We join his family, friends, and teammates in this difficult time and remain at their disposal for anything they may need." Neither the club nor local authorities have disclosed the specific cause of Nuin's death. Argentine media reported that further details are expected soon as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his passing. Nuin, a left-footed midfielder, joined San Telmo in 2022 after progressing through the youth academies of Argentine powerhouses Boca Juniors and Independiente. Various Argentine football organizations, including the Argentine Football Association (AFA), have expressed their condolences. "The Argentine Football Association, through its president Claudio Tapia and Executive Committee, expresses its sorrow at the death of Camilo Nuin and extends its condolences to the player's family," the AFA said.

The inspirational football club helping everyone enjoy the beautiful game - as England captain Leah Williamson pays it a visit
Ever been told football is a 'man's game'? One up-and-coming footballer, Fleur Cousens, grew so sick of hearing this claim that she decided to start her own grassroots club dedicated to proving football didn't need to be gendered. The young coach founded Goal Diggers FC in 2015, and it's since grown into a welcoming, vibrant community that gives everyone the chance to experience the joy of becoming part of a team, regardless of their ability or experience. After all, football doesn't just build athletes, it builds futures. By helping individuals feel part of something bigger, it gives them the confidence and motivation to succeed in other areas of life too. Fleur's success with Goal Diggers has attracted the attention of none other than England captain Leah Williamson OBE, who visited the club's base in north London to hear how they were helping more women take up football. 'It was me and 10 boys!' Fleur on how she began her coaching career Going through any form of assessment can be daunting, but it's even more so when you stand out from everyone else taking part. 'When I did the coaching course it was just me with 10 teenage boys,' she says. 'I was able to show my skills - with respect to the teenage boys - and I started coaching right away.' The footballing legend was recently named one of Weetabix's 'all-star' athletes joining Sir Mo Farah, Ade Adepitan MBE and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill to help the nation achieve their goals bix by bix, a role she's using to help further her mission of getting more women and girls into the beautiful game. Goal Diggers is my world, it's my community, it's where I feel most myself.' Meanwhile, other players share how the club has helped them find a community that now goes far beyond football, even though that's what brought them together. The footballer is deeply impressed by Fleur's achievement, telling her: 'The power of football is that you're one of many, so to tap into that is fantastic. 'I think when I reflect on my career it will be the people I think about more than anything else.' Goal Diggers is a shining example of what can happen when everyone is given the tools and support they need to achieve their ambitions. The chance to start playing football in a supportive and friendly environment has proved popular, with the side now boasting more than 200 members.
