Love Island star Toni Laites shares huge update on future just days after winning

Love Island winner Toni Laites has admitted that she 'sees no reason' to be in the US as she focuses on building a career in the UK off the back of her reality TV success
Love Island winner Toni Laites has admitted that she 'sees no reason' to be in the US. The Connecticut-born reality star, 25, became the first American to emerge victorious from the UK version of the dating competition last week when she and Cach Mercer were voted as the nation's favourite couple.

Now, in her first interview alongside her now-boyfriend, she has hinted that a move to the UK could be on the cards as she explores opportunities that have come with her newfound fame. During an appearance on Friday's This Morning, she told hosts Joel Dommett and Emma Willis: "Crazy, isn't it? I don't think I'll be spending much time in America. No decisions are made yet but obviously, but Cach is here, I have a lot of opportunities coming up, my friends are here. I see no reason to be in America anymore."

Toni also explained just how 'insane' it is to her and Cach that they are now suddenly very famous in the UK after weeks of living in the Spanish villa, and noted that she even had her 'doubts' about their reception prior to landing back after the show had finished. She added: "Insane, I was a very regular person before the show and now there's like millions of comments and followers." It comes after Dejon fired back at claims made about him while in the villa.

She added: "I never expected it, you don't know what's going on in the outside world. If anything, I think we doubted ourselves for a while so it's so it's so relieving to see that the public is welcoming us back."

During his time in the villa, Cach became known for showing his emotions and admitted that while things can be 'heightened' on the set of the realty show, he has no regrets about the way things were shown.
He said: "It was different for me. I feel like being in the villa feelings are heightened to, like, so high. Your emotions just end up coming out and it's kind of hard to hide. In certain situations, it's hard to act like the cool guy, and as you guys saw it came out of me. Certain situations fazed me. But I loved the experience, I don't take back anything that I did in there or how I come across. I come out with such good comments on social media and stuff. "
Cach and Toni first laid eyes on each other during Casa Amor, and although they struck up an instant connection, it was obvious Toni's heart was still with Harrison. Harrison, however, had shared kisses with Helena in the main villa, leaving Toni with no option to explore, adamant that Harrison would be doing the same.
Of course, he did as he returned to the main villa with Lauren. The pair were glued to each other's hips, but Harrison continued to have flirty conversations with Toni.
Harrison then persuaded Toni to couple up with him at the next recoupling, leaving Cach in tears in scenes that moved the nation. However, when Lauren was dumped from the villa, Harrison told his fellow Islanders that he saw himself being in a relationship with Lauren on the outside.

Noel Gallagher ‘tears up' during emotional ballad at Oasis Murrayfield gig

Fans believe the Scottish gigs are especially emotional for Noel due to his split-up from his Scottish wife. Around 70,000 fans descended on Murrayfield Stadium last night for the second of Oasis' legendary three Edinburgh concerts. But during one much-loved emotional tune, Noel was spotted getting teary eyed, which many fans speculated was due to his recent split-up from his Scottish wife. ‌ During the stripped-back and melancholic song Talk Tonight, from the band's second album (What's The Story) Morning Glory, Noel was visibly emotional as he sang the lyrics 'I want to talk tonight/ about how you saved my life'. And emotions were high throughout the stadium last night, as Noel also shared a sweet moment with a young fan who was holding a banner saying 'Oasis saved me'. ‌ A TikTok posted by fan Andrew Douglas showed the Gallagher brother welling up while singing the heart-felt lyrics, which prompted much discussion in the comments section. Many debated the meaning of the song, Noel's mental health, and how much it must mean to the brothers to have reunited for such a colossal and globally-renowned sell-out tour. ‌ Many fans seemed to think the influx of emotion was due to Noel's recent divorce to his Edinburgh-born wife Sara McDonald. The Oasis star and his now ex-wife Sara announced their split in January 2023 after 12 years of marriage. Noel's divorce from the Scottish music PR is said to have set him back £20m and forced him to give up their luxury £8M Hampshire home. ‌ The Gallagher previously opened up about their split on Matt Morgan's Patreon Podcast, where he spoke about adjusting to single life. He even described a cheeky gesture he makes when biking in London:"I can get on the bike and go up to King's Cross, and go down to the canal at Longfield Road. ‌ "And get on the canal outside my wonderful ex-wife's house and give her a little wave, and go, 'You didn't take this from me'!" Many in the comments of the heart-wrenching TikTok from last night's gig thought that the recent split-up was to blame for this sudden wave of emotion during the love song. ‌ One concerned fan said: "His last solo tour and his marriage breaking up really took a toll on him. I don't think he thought he'd be back playing to crowds like this again." A second commenter said: "This song was about his Scottish wife im sure they've split up tho." ‌ Another added: "Could be bc his ex was from Scotland i think." But others speculated that it was the song, rather than the Scots location, that prompted the tears. Another fan added: "Bc its the song he wrote about someone saving his life when he was struggling…" While a third fan speculated: "Noel is easily going through a rough time this is depression, those who don't know haven't experienced it. He needs love." The Gallaghers will take to the stage for a third night at Murrayfield on Tuesday, August 12. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The ITV2 show alum, who was voted out with partner Meg ahead of Monday's show final, took to TikTok to address the allegations in his first ever video. Niah, who is not biologically related to Dejon but shares a brother with him, took to TikTok to give fans an unfiltered glimpse into the 'real Dejon' and insisted he is "manipulative" and "narcissistic". She has even gone as far as to write her own account in a tell-all book named 'Surviving Dejon', which is already available to buy. After the rumours swirled - and coming under fire for his controversial behaviour on the show and being branded a "gaslighter" by fans - he has spoken out. Dejon appeared topless in his new clip, donning a bling diamond necklace. He strolled around a room with crisp white walls and exposed black beams and initially thanked fans for their support. He said of the good wishes: "It really means the world to me, honestly especially in times like now. "I feel like there's a lot of false stories out there about me which are very untrue, unfair and I feel like from that, really big up to my supporters. "I'm excited and looking forward to showing you guys who I really am. Watch the moment Maya Jama takes savage swipe at another girl after Meg and Dejon miss out on Love Island final "For now, lets go play some table tennis." The end of the clip showed him reunited with Meg as they played table tennis. SHOCK CLAIM In her scathing six minute video, his step sister Niah claimed that what viewers have seen on TV is an accurate reflection of how Dejon behaves in real life. She began: " So I've decided to speak out because I've been silent for way too long and I know that I will be receiving probably a lot of backlash from my family for this. LOVE ISLAND VOTING PERCENTAGES TONI and Cach won the Love Island 2025 final - yet what were the exact voting percentages? Las Vegas waitress Toni Laites and professional dancer Cach Mercer went head-to-head with OG islanders Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley in a nail-biting finale. However, Toni and Cach were triumphant and won the summer series after surviving a love triangle just two weeks before the final. A results table shared on Love Island's Instagram account this afternoon showed Toni and Cach were the runaway winners on the night, taking over a third of the votes, with 33.5% of viewers backing them for the crown. However, Shakira and Harry drew a sizeable 26.2% of the votes, and Yas and Jamie were not far behind taking 22% on the nose. Aesthetics practitioner Angel, 26, only made her debut on July 17, but managed to secure an impressive 18.3% of the overall voting audience with Casa Amor boy Ty. "You guys are all clearly very traumatised from seeing Dejon on TV and seeing everything that he's doing and watching everything play out it seems as though no one is holding him accountable. She went on to say: 'Dejon is a narcissist, he's manipulative. I've been telling everyone this for the past 10 years now but no one believed me. And it's just crazy now that the whole of the UK can see what I've been trying to explain to people for so long. She continued: 'I didn't want to speak out on this. That's why I haven't made any videos directly explaining anything about him because I know that it can affect my family in a bad way. "And I do completely understand if they are upset with me for this post. She added: "One thing I will say is, I knew from the beginning, from the first episode I knew exactly what was going to go down. "It's just a shame because I don't want him to be seen like this, but I genuinely don't think that he sees that he's a narcissist, you know? and I actually do feel bad for Meg in a sense." Speaking about the book alongside a trailer for it, she penned: 'This book answers everything. reasons why I spoke out. Why fear kept me silent for so long. How I lost everyone and everything I ever cared about. 'It reveals the truth behind the rumours I never wanted to address. I need to tell my truth in the way that I feel in control. This is not for attention, creating this book was like therapy for me. 'I would never put my reputation on the line or lose the people I loved if I didn't have a powerful reason to finally speak.' Niah even posted a trigger warning for the book as it contains: "emotionally intense and potentially distressing content". DEJON'S TAKE Speaking to the Daily Mail previously, Dejon has hit back at claims of him being a 'narcissist', he said: "I do take full accountability for how I communicated at times in the villa. "The girls who were on the show with me say I'm not a narcissist, I'm not a gaslighter, all of these things they have seen online, it means a lot to me because they spent 24 hours a day with me. "I could have handled situations better but when it comes to being a 'narcissist' and these words, empathy is definitely something that I have, it's something I had for Meg, for Harry, and when Meg was upset, I was there for her, and when Harry was upset it would break my heart. "Me and Harry had a thing, we called it fitness and feelings where we would go to the gym and I would say "don't worry H, we can be free here, our tears, people will think they're sweat."' 6 Fans had accused the businessman of being a 'gaslighter' on the series Credit: ITV 6 He failed to reach the series final with Meg Credit: ITV
