Cardiff to assess Ralls injury
Cardiff City will assess Joe Ralls during the international break after he felt a recurrence of a calf problem during his side's 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers.The captain did not feature in six successive Championship matches after boss Omer Riza revealed he had sustained a groin problem in a 2-1 loss at Portsmouth on 11 February.Ralls started against Rovers on Saturday but had to be replaced by Rubin Colwill in the 37th minute at Ewood Park."Rallsy's come back from a calf strain and he's felt it again after about 20 minutes," Riza told BBC Radio Wales."Bless him, he carried on and pushed through another 15 minutes and we had to get him off because he was feeling it. "We'll look at what the damage is with that."The win in Lancashire also saw the return of midfielder Andy Rinomhota who missed the defeats against Sunderland and Burnley with a hamstring injury.But Riza admitted he was pleased to see the 27-year-old play for an hour as the Bluebirds returned to winning ways against Blackburn."Same with Andy Rinomhota, he's come back from a hamstring injury," added Riza."To get 60 minutes out of him was pleasing. We couldn't push it much more than that."Cardiff sit a point above the Championship's relegation zone and return to action against Sheffield Wednesday in the Welsh capital on Saturday, 29 March (15:00 GMT).

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson on signing another striker
Hardie has joined Wrexham from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee, with the 28-year-old signing a deal until the end of the 2027-28 season. Hardie scored 74 goals in 248 games for the Home Park outfit after signing in January 2020 - initially on loan before making the move permanent from Blackpool the following year - and reached double figures in each of the last four seasons. Parkinson is not short of strikers heading into the new Championship campaign, although he has admitted that some players under contract could be allowed to move on before the window closes to make room for new recruits. Sam Smith, Jay Rodriguez, Jack Marriott, Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer and Mo Faal, as well as Hardie, are frontmen on the books at The Racecourse and although there could be further ins and outs at that end of the pitch, the Reds' boss says it is vital he has choices in the attacking department. "Striker options are very important in any football club," said Parkinson, who released veteran frontman Steven Fletcher at the end of last season after Wrexham clinched an historic third successive promotion. "We have always had good options at the top end oft the pitch, it is absolutely crucial, and we have brought Ryan in to strengthen that department. Wrexham's first summer signing Ryan Hardie on signing
Hardie has joined the Reds from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee, with the 28-year-old signing a contract until the end of the 2027-28 season to become the first new signing of the summer transfer window at The Racecourse. Having signing for Argyle in January 2020 - initially on loan before making the move permanent the following year - Hardie has reached double figures for goals in each of the last four seasons and the frontman is determined to continue finding the back of the net for Phil Parkinson's side. "Getting into double-figures, which I have done four years in a row, is a starting target as a striker for the year," said Hardie, who scored a total of 74 goals in 248 games for Plymouth who were relegated from the Championship last season. "It is the baseline that you want to get to at the very minimum. "Then once you get there, you want to keep going and see how many you can get, so let's hope I can make it five this year." Hardie spent the last two campaigns in the Championship where Wrexham will ply their trade next term after securing an historic third successive promotion and the frontman is determined to continue his good form after proving himself in the second tier. "I've played in the Championship for the last two years now and I have got 22 goals in the division, with a few cup goals in there too," he said. "In a team that was obviously at the bottom of the table, it was good getting those goals "Hopefully we play on the front foot and I'll be able to get get a few more than that this year." Plymouth have swapped places with Wrexham following their relegation to League One but Hardie, a former Scottish youth international who began his career with Rangers before having a spell with Blackpool, was in no mood to drop down a division. "It was a massive factor in my decision (to sign for Wrexham)," he said. "Obviously when the unfortunate circumstances happened last year and we went down, it was an immediate conversation I had with my representatives. "The ultimate goal for me is to try and play as high as I can and when the club came calling, it was a no-brainer for me." Hardie will be on the goal trail but what else can Wrexham supporters expect from him? "You will definitely get a hard working player and a bit of a menace up front," he added. MORE WREXHAM AFC NEWS "I don't let dead-balls go - any loose balls I will chase them. "I base my game on hard work and everything else sort of falls into place. "The majority of my game will be running in behind and stretching the game. "I like leaving space for other players to come in while I take the channels and occupy centre-halves. "My game is all about being on the last line and running forward, and hopefully scoring goals and creating opportunities."
