Arch Manning may have to carry more than the weight of his last name next season.
On Tuesday morning's edition of ESPN's 'Get Up,' Paul Finebaum put even more lofty praise on the Texas redshirt sophomore quarterback.
When Finebaum was asked what the expectations for the Longhorns and Manning should be, he set a high bar.

'The absolute roof. I think there's a reasonably good chance that Arch Manning will be sitting on the front row in New York at the Heisman ceremony,' Finebaum replied. 'That's assuming that his team does what it's supposed to do and compete not only for the SEC, but for the national championship, and I really believe they will.'
Finebaum also believes that if head coach Steve Sarkisian had brought in Manning during the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Ohio State last season, the Longhorns would be hoisting the trophy instead of the Buckeyes.
But then Finebaum capped off his expectations by saying Manning might be the best quarterback since a certain phenom.
'I believe, also, that Arch Manning is the best college football quarterback we have seen since Tim Tebow entered the scene in 2006,' Finebaum said.

During his time in college, Tebow was unstoppable. In his four years at the collegiate level, he had 9,285 passing yards and 88 touchdowns through the air. He also helped Florida to two national championships.
Manning was good in the limited action he appeared in last season, passing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns, filling in for starter Quinn Ewers. But even with those numbers, at the moment, it seems like a far cry to expect him to match anything that Tebow did.

But no matter what happens during the season, good or bad, it is a sure thing that the media will be swarming the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning.
Texas sits at the No. 1 spot on ESPN's preseason power rankings. Manning and the Longhorns look to back up that ranking and make a run at the championship this season.

Can Caleb Williams make Bears history this season?

It is the season of hot takes and bold predictions. Fans and pundits are all looking for ways to bring football season back as quickly as possible. We have seen people give their takes on Caleb Williams in a negative way. Now in a recent NFL Network article, NFL analyst Jeff Chadiha gave Bears fans reassuringly positive and bold predictions for what he thinks Year 2 will look like for Caleb Williams. Since the beginning of time (at least it feels that way), the Chicago Bears consistenly could not get one thing right: the quarterback position. The Bears are in their own league in discouraging statistics, such as being the only NFL team to never have a 4,000-yard passer. Advertisement Since the 2015 season the Chicago Bears are tied for having the second most quarterbacks to start a football game with 13. They sit at the top of that disappointing leaderboard with two other franchises that have been in quarterback purgatory: the Denver Broncos and the Cleveland Browns. Jeff Chadiha believes this is the year everything changes in Chicago, with the Bears finally having elite quarterback play. He has former USC Trojan Caleb Williams not only making history by being a "4k passer," but also finding the end zone a lot this season. "There's a lot of anticipation surrounding the Bears' second-year quarterback and his ability to make good on all the promise that made him the top pick in the 2024 draft," Chadiha wrote. "One thing that shouldn't be doubted is whether he'll become the first Chicago signal-caller to throw for 4,000 yards in a season. Williams won't just reach that barrier; he'll blow it away, especially when considering all the advantages he has working for him now. The Bears hired the best offensive mind available to be their head coach in Ben Johnson. They've rebuilt the offensive line, drafted more pass catchers tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden and filled more holes on the defense. Williams threw for 3,541 yards and 20 touchdowns last season when he was running for his life and trying too hard to extend plays. Better coaching and an improved supporting cast will make life much easier for him, and the numbers will bear that out." With complementary weapons and a new coaching staff around Caleb Williams, he could become the exact player everybody thought he would be coming out of USC, the player we saw win the Heisman in 2022. Advertisement A statue would be made for Caleb Williams outside of Soldier Field if -- in Chicago -- he has anywhere near his production at USC in 2022 with 4,075 yards passing, 37 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He definitely has the right supporting cast and infrastructure to make that happen.
