In a move following her departure from WWE, a recently released talent has unveiled a new persona as she prepares to navigate the independent wrestling circuit. This development comes on the heels of a substantial wave of releases earlier this month, which saw seventeen performers exit the company, eleven of whom were part of the NXT brand, signaling a shift in WWE's talent roster.
Among those released from NXT was Jakara Jackson, whose contract was terminated alongside her former Meta-Four stablemate, Oro Mensah. Jackson, however, quickly made it clear that her journey in professional wrestling was far from over, and the 30-year-old has now taken a concrete step in shaping her post-WWE career by adopting a new ring name.
Jackson's tenure with WWE began when she signed a developmental contract and reported to the WWE Performance Center. During her time in NXT, Jackson made appearances on NXT's weekly television show and NXT Level Up. Her most prominent role came as a member of the Meta-Four stable, a faction that also included Oro Mensah, Noam Dar, and Lash Legend.

Transitioning to her new identity, Jackson has updated her Twitter profile, changing her name from Jakara Jackson to Mara Sadè. This signals a fresh start and a new chapter for the performer as she steps into the broader world of professional wrestling beyond the WWE umbrella.
She is looking to replace her existing Twitter banner, which still features her old ring name, with one that reflects her new identity as Mara Sadè. She posted a direct request to her audience, writing:
STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT - JANUARY 28: A WWE logo shines from the WWE world headquarters on January 28, 2024 in Stamford, Connecticut. WWE founder Vince McMahon resigned from the WWE and its parent company TKO as...
STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT - JANUARY 28: A WWE logo shines from the WWE world headquarters on January 28, 2024 in Stamford, Connecticut. A former employee Janel Grant accused McMahon, 78, of sexual assault and sexually trafficking her. More
"Hey gang! Can yall make me a badass profile banner?" The wrestler clearly intends to hit the ground running and is fostering a collaborative relationship with her supporters as she embarks on this new phase of her career.

The departures impacted both the main roster, including names like Braun Strowman and Shayna Baszler, and NXT, with talents such as Cora Jade and Gigi Dolin also being let go. It's important to note that the specific circumstances surrounding each individual's departure, such as a release or contract non-renewal, can differ. It will be interesting to see where she ends up.

Vince McMahon featured in trailer for Hulk Hogan TV special

Since Vince McMahon resigned from all of his roles at TKO and WWE in the wake of former girlfriend Janel Grant's alleging in an ongoing civil lawsuit that he abused and trafficked her, he's only appeared in public a handful of times. The novelty of those appearances has made them items of interest, especially for pro wrestling fans online. Which is the main reason we're sharing this trailer for the TMZ-produced special on Hulk Hogan which is airing on FOX tonight (Aug. 12) at 8 p.m. Eastern. In it, McMahon — who has denied all of Grant's allegations as he and WWE contest her suit — sits for an interview. He's apparently at the offices of his new private investment firm 14th & I. The 79-year-old appears along with Sylvester Stallone, Goldberg, Mark Henry, Charlotte Flair and TMZ's Harvey Levin. After Levin covers Hogan being booed in his final appearance on Raw back in January, the clip is edited so that we hear McMahon say, 'I was angry. He deserved much more.' Here's the trailer for TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan, shared by one of the special's producers: The last recorded interviews with Vince were done in 2021, and filmed for Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. Hogan died last month at age 71. McMahon memorialized him in a social media statement shortly after the most famous pro wrestler of all-time died on July 24. Solve the daily Crossword

Hulk Hogan's first wife shares throwback post on wrestler's birthday. Take a look

They may have been divorced since 2009, but Linda Hogan's feelings still run deep for Hulk Hogan, who died of a heart attack in his Clearwater, Fla., home on July 24. On Monday, on what would have the wrestling icon's 72nd birthday, his ex-wife shared a sweet tribute on Instagram. 'Me and Hulkster 1981....I love and miss you so much,' said the caption alongside a throwback picture of the two embracing into the reflection of a mirror. Linda (nee Claridge) married the WWE legend (real name Terry Bollea) roughly two years after that snap was taken. They had two kids, Brooke, 37, and Nick, 35, who were also costars of the VH1 reality show 'Hogan Knows Best,' documenting their often wacky lives. Hulk and Linda separated the same year the show was canceled, 2007. Their divorce finalized in 2009. Hulk went on to marry makeup artist Jennifer McDaniel a year later, and split after a little more than a decade. The Real American Beer founder was married to yoga instructor Sky Daily, whom he wed in 2023, at the time of his passing. As for Hogan's relationship with his first wife? Not much was known about their dynamic until a few months ago. In the spring, Linda appeared in a disturbing social media video lifting the lid on the dysfunction in the family. The erstwhile TV matriarch tearfully revealed that she had been estranged from Brooke for years, and that her famous ex was not only a 'liar' and 'sex addict,' but also to blame for not healing the rifts. 'I've given him more opportunities to come back and make up the family,' the 65-year-old sobbed. 'It's been 20 years and I'm still this sad. Somebody please explain that.' After Brooke clapped back at her mom in her own posts, Hulk broke his silence in the form of a video of him jokingly eating popcorn with Daily. Linda obviously wasn't offended by the popular entertainer's lack of sympathy and had obviously forgiven him. After his death, she told her followers that she was 'devastated.' Linda has no hard feelings toward Daily, either. According to UsWeekly they sat in the same row during Hogan's funeral. READ MORE: Hulk Hogan's daughter has questions about his death

Vince McMahon was ‘angry' Hulk Hogan got booed in final WWE appearance

Vince McMahon, the embattled ex-chairman of WWE, recalled Hulk Hogan's last appearance on the famed wrestling company's airwaves and the anger he had over the reaction the Los Angeles crowd gave the Hulkster. McMahon took part in a TMZ special set to air Tuesday night, examining the life and career of Hogan, one of wrestling's biggest stars, following his death in July at the age of 71. Hogan last appeared on WWE's 'Monday Night Raw' on Jan. 6 as the program made its debut on Netflix, but he was greeted by a chorus of boos from the Intuit Dome crowd in Inglewood, California. Hogan's political leanings have also impacted how some have viewed him. He appeared at a rally for President Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden last October and told Pat McAfee on his ESPN show that he thought 'politics had a whole lot to do with' his reception on 'Raw.' Tuesday's TMZ special will be of significant interest, as it marks McMahon's first televised interview since the scandal broke in January 2024 over allegations that he sexually abused and trafficked a former WWE employee.
