Lady Gaga Is Now Just 1 Award Away From EGOT Status After Her Latest Surprise Win
As of last year, Lady Gaga had four Emmy nominations to her name for her various musical specials and live TV performances.
But few could have predicted that when she did finally get her hands on one of the coveted television awards, it would be at the ceremony's sports-specific spin-off.
Yes, on Tuesday night, Lady Gaga was revealed as one of the winners at the Sports Emmys, a night honouring the biggest achievements in the world of sports coverage over the last year.
However, it makes sense that Gaga's win was in the Outstanding Music Direction category, following her opening performance at this year's Super Bowl.
While it was Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar who dominated this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, and singer-songwriter Jon Batiste who opened the event with the US national anthem, the Abracadabra star also made an appearance during the broadcast, paying tribute to those affected by a number of recent tragedies across the US.
With an Oscar win and 14 Grammys already to her name, Gaga is now just one Tony win away from reaching EGOT status – a title bestowed to the select few performers to earn an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony over the course of their career.
Last year, during a 'Little Monsters' press conference to promote her album Mayhem, Gaga was asked by one fan if she had a 'dream' Broadway role in mind, while specifically mentioning the possibility of her winning a Tony.
'I think that I would really love to write a musical,' Gaga responded. 'I feel like that would bring me so much joy – to work with some amazing writers.
'But I think the first thing that needs to happen is I need to figure out what the important story is that I want to tell – with whoever I want to tell it with.'
She continued: 'While I appreciate the desire for me to win a Tony, I just feel like I would want to put years of work into that [musical]. And eight shows a week – [those actors] are rock stars. That is rock star shit.'

Cynthia Erivo Teases Elphaba's ‘Rage' Ahead Of ‘Wicked: For Good' Trailer Drop
Partial teaser poster for "Wicked: For Good" featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Cynthia Erivo is talking about the changes she made for Elphaba in Wicked: For Good ahead of the release of the film's first trailer, which is set for Wednesday. Erivo, of course, was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar earlier this year, one of the 10 nods Wicked received including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande. Wicked won two Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards — for Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandeles and Nathan Crowley. Wicked: For Good — the second film in the adaptation of the 2003 classic Broadway musical — is set for a Nov. 21 release. The first trailer for Wicked: For Good will premiere at a one-night-only screening event of Wicked in theaters on Wednesday, followed by the release of the teaser on YouTube, according to ABC's Good Morning America. In an interview Monday with Billboard about her new album I Forgive You, Erivo brought a bit of Wicked: For Good into the conversation. Considering that Elphaba is heading into the Wicked Witch of the West territory that fans know from the character's appearance in the 1939 film classic The Wizard of Oz, Erivo noted that there are dark times ahead for Glinda's former ally. 'She's able to access her rage more,' Erivo told Billboard. 'The scent I wore changed. The makeup changed. Little shifts that bring you to a more mature version of who Elphaba becomes. And she is delicious in this next one.' In addition to the film's awards season success, Wicked was a massive hit in theaters. Following the film's Nov. 22, 2024, release, Wicked went on to earn $473.2 million in North American theaters and nearly $282 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $755.2 million against a $145 million budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers. Wednesday's special screening of the film with the Wicked: For Good trailer drop will, of course, add to that number. In addition to the theatrical success of Wicked, the film also earned $100 million in digital streaming revenues via premium video on demand, Deadline reported in April. Wicked is currently streaming on Peacock and is still available to purchase or rent on PVOD. Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good opens in theaters worldwide on Nov. 21.

Travis Kelce praises Taylor Swift's masters triumph
Travis Kelce is super happy that his girlfriend Taylor Swift has finally gained control of her master recordings. On the latest episode of his "New Heights" podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, welcomed NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal as a guest. At the end of his appearance, O'Neal grabbed his phone and started playing Swift's hit "I Knew You Were Trouble," lip-synching along to the lyrics. "That's my favorite song in the world, brother, I love it!" O'Neal laughed. Travis Kelce replied, "Shoutout to Tay-Tay! Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back, so it's finally hers too, man. I appreciate that!" "I Knew You Were Trouble" is from Swift's 2012 album "Red" and is one of the six albums whose master recordings she recently re-acquired from their previous owners, Shamrock Capital. Elsewhere in the podcast episode, the Kelce brothers discussed O'Neal's side hustle as a DJ, with Travis Kelce saying, "You gotta get me [in] the DJ booth, man. Teach me your ways." O'Neal said he would, adding, "You know what's crazy? You opening up for your girlfriend. Bro, you'll be a f---ing star! Ten minutes, hyping up the crowd? Oh my God!" "You know I'm a hype man," Travis Kelce agreed. "I'd get 'em rockin' in there. Have the Swifties bouncing off the walls before Tay gets out there!" O'Neal also told Travis Kelce that Jason Kelce had arranged for him to shake Swift's hand at the 2024 Super Bowl, which Kansas City won. "That was the Super Bowl I like to remember," Travis Kelce joked, an apparent reference to his team's Super Bowl LIX loss to the Eagles earlier this year. Swift announced that she had purchased her master recordings last week in a powerful letter shared on her official website. "All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me," she wrote at the time. "And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work."

Aaron Paul Reveals the Hilarious Prank Bryan Cranston Pulled on Him While Making BREAKING BAD — GeekTyrant
Aaron Paul got his big break on the award-winning fan favorite series Breaking Bad , in which he starred alongside Oscar nominee and Emmy-winner, Bryan Cranston. The pair have remained friends, but Paul remembers a particularly cruel and hilarious prank that Cranston pulled on him while making the series. On a recent appearance on the hot wing talk show Hot Ones, Paul first praised his co-star, saying of Cranston, "He's the hardest worker in the room, the most lovable… but he's also the most immature I've ever met in my life. I say that with just love and respect, the list was endless." He went on, "I remember on Breaking Bad , he came out of the production office and came up to me and said, 'It's OK' and give me this long hug. I'm like, 'What are you doing?' He's like, 'At least you go out in a big way, huh?' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' He goes, 'Did you read the latest script?' I go, 'No.' He goes, 'Well, just read it, and I'm here if you need me.'' Paul continued, "So, I sprinted into the production office… of course, I go to the final pages [of the script] and nothing happened, I'm still around. But he just made it seem like I died. He would not stop. He would get everybody in on it, like the costume designers said, 'Hey we gotta do your measurements for the casket.'" Paul's character Jesse Pinkman got out of the series, not unscathed per se, but alive, and went on to star in the follow-up Netflix film, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie . Breaking Bad is currently streaming on Netflix. via: GamesRadar
