Rhian Wilkinson wants Wales to bounce back from opening setback
Wales are the lowest-ranked side in the competition, but Wilkinson believes her team can take confidence from the loss in preparation for Wednesday's meeting with France.

'I think all of us as a group are going to have learned something about how we have to suffer in moments of a game,' Wilkinson said in her post-match press conference.
'We have to hang on and we can't capitulate our chains, our connection as a group has to be really tight. We saw moments where we just got a bit stretched and they took advantage of that.
'I do think the players themselves – it sounds strange when you lose 3-0 – but they'll have gained a bit of confidence in this.
'We'd rather lose by three or four nothing and try and play than just sit back. You could say we were defensive in the first half, but it was for a real purpose, we had a game plan and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
'It almost got us to half, so in that way I don't think it was completely off-base but we'll keep pushing.'
Wales are currently bottom of the Group D standings following their defeat, with Wednesday's opponents France in second place after beating England 2-1 on Saturday night.
They conclude their group campaign with a clash against England and Wilkinson is hoping the team can take lessons into their upcoming matches.

She added: 'We have to create more opportunities and make sure those moments of lapses get fewer and fewer.
'This is the world stage, this is the big event and it's intimidating, it's the first game, but equally this is what we want. It comes with lessons like this.
'We've got two more big games and we've got to show up again and hopefully learn from how we finished that game because we really stepped up in the last 20 to 25 minutes.'

England to host next three World Test Championship finals
England will stage the next three World Test Championship finals, the International Cricket Council has announced. All of the first three showpieces have been held in England, most recently last month with Lord's the venue as South Africa were crowned champions for the first time by defeating holders Australia. Nearly 110,000 people went through the gates of the so-called home of cricket over the course of a Test that lasted four days, although India were reportedly keen to stage the next edition in two years' time. The influence the country wields in global cricket affairs led to the assumption India would get their wish but England have instead been awarded the finals of the 2027, 2029 and 2031 editions by the ICC. At its annual conference in Singapore, the ICC noted England's "successful track record in hosting recent finals", even though Ben Stokes' side are yet to reach the one-off, winner-takes-all showdown. England finished fifth in the 2023-25 cycle although they were deducted 22 points - by far the most of the nine teams involved - for slow over-rates. Without those punishments, they would have placed third. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief executive Richard Gould said: "We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales has been chosen to host the next three ICC World Test Championship finals. "It's a testament to the passion that fans in this country have for this treasured format of the game and the willingness of supporters from around the world to travel here for these games. "Hosting these finals is a privilege, and we look forward to working with the ICC to build on the success of the previous editions." Also on the agenda for the ICC in southeast Asia was an update on the support for the displaced women's cricketers of Afghanistan, many of whom were forced into exile when the Taliban returned to power in 2021 and effectively outlawed female sport. Amid increasing political pressure for the global game to act, the ICC formed a task force in April also involving the ECB, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA). The ICC confirmed the programme "aims to deliver structured support through high-performance initiatives, domestic playing opportunities, and engagement at key ICC global events". It is understood Afghanistan women's cricketers, many of whom are now living in Australia, could attend this year's 50-over World Cup in India and the 2026 T20 World Cup in England and engage with the teams there, although details are still to be ironed out.

England condemn racist ‘online poison' aimed at Jess Carter during Euro 2025
England have condemned the 'online poison' of racist abuse directed at the defender Jess Carter during the European Championship in Switzerland and said they would stop taking a knee before matches because 'football needs to find another way to tackle racism'. Carter received criticism after her performance in England's defeat against France in their opening game of the tournament and was subsequently shifted from left-back to centre-back. She struggled again during Thursday's quarter-final victory against Sweden and has now revealed the unacceptable vitriol she has been a victim of while on international duty. 'From the start of the tournament I have experienced a lot of racial abuse,' the 27-year-old defender wrote on Instagram. 'While I feel every fan is entitled to their opinion on performance and result I don't agree or think it's OK to target someone's appearance or race. As a result of this I will be taking a step back from social media and leaving it to a team to deal with.' Carter has received widespread support, most emphatically from her teammates. In a collective statement, the Lionesses said: 'Representing our country is the greatest honour. It is not right that while we are doing that, some of us are treated differently simply because of the colour of our skin. Until now, we have chosen to take the knee before matches. It is clear we and football need to find another way to tackle racism. We have agreed as a squad to remain standing before kick‑off on Tuesday.' The statement added: 'Those behind this online poison must be held accountable.' Lotte Wubben-Moy went further by announcing she was also coming off social media. In a statement, the Arsenal defender said: 'Another tournament goes by where we see the same disgusting racist abuse. It is unacceptable for any person to be subject to this or any kind of abuse. The issue goes beyond sport. But what is being done about it? On the very platforms we post on? I will not continue to feed the very platform that enables abuse with no consequence.' Speaking about the Lionesses' decision to stop taking the knee, Lucy Bronze said: 'It was driven by the group – obviously certain individuals more than others. I think it was just the fact that we feel as a collective, is the message as strong as it used to be? Is the message really hitting hard? Because to us it feels like it's not if these things are still happening to our players in the biggest tournaments of their lives. 'It's about putting another statement out there to say, you know, it's something that still is a problem, it's something that still needs to be put right. More needs to be done in football, more needs to be done in society, what that is right now as an individual, I don't exactly know. But it's something that we collectively as a team and as a federation want to work towards, we want to make changes. This is a small step trying to create another change.'
