Khalilabad-Bahraich rly line work in progress

Bahraich: As part of UP govt's efforts to strengthen railway infrastructure in the state, work on a new railway line between Khalilabad and Bahraich has gained momentum. The project, approved in Oct 2018, covers a stretch of 240km. It will cost an estimated budget of Rs 4,940 crore and will be completed by 2026. Land acquisition from farmers in 85 villages in two tehsils, Bansi and Dumariyaganj, is underway. Most of the land being acquired falls under the Bansi tehsil. The railway line will include the construction of two new stations — Bansi between the villages of Chhitouna and Kolhua Chakwa, near Gauri village, and another station between Batsa and Pidhiya villages. On ground construction is progressing swiftly. Soil filling work at the Kheshraha station site and along the railway track alignment is advancing. Materials like ballast and cross boulders have already been deposited near Batsa and Bhaluha villages for laying tracks. The tender process for the stations in Bansi and Kheshraha has been completed. Local villagers see the railway expansion as a key step toward economic and transportation development in rural Uttar Pradesh. The Khalilabad-Bahraich line, once completed, will significantly boost connectivity in eastern UP, further integrating remote areas into the mainstream transport network.
