McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout — who will follow in the footsteps of film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, respectively — join previously announced cast members John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
The trio of child stars are largely unknown. McLaughlin will be in the upcoming Sky movie Grow. Stanton starred as Matilda in the West End's Matilda: The Musical in 2023-24. Harry Potter is Stout's first major credit.
Filming is slated to begin this summer. Described as a "faithful adaption" of J.K. Rowling's book series, the series is expected to adapt one of Rowling's seven books each season. Rowling, who's become a polarizing figure in recent years for her controversial views on the transgender community, will serve as an executive producer.

Harry Potter Actor Alastair Stout's Age Explained

With the casting process for the upcoming Harry Potter reboot series entering its final stages, HBO has now announced the trio who will occupy the leading roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. With Alastair Stout joining the cast as Ron alongside Dominic McLaughlin as Harry and Arabella Stanton as Hermione, fans have become curious about the child actor and his age. Here's everything you need to know about Stout and what's currently known about his age. While the exact age of Alastair Stout remains unknown, he is believed to have been born between 2014 and 2016. As such, the British youngster could be anywhere between 9 to 11 years old at the time of writing, as this was the age range given in the casting call put out by producers. This would make Alastair Stout a similar age to the 11-year-old Arabella Stanton, as well as Dominic McLaughlin, whose age also falls in the 9 to 11-year-old bracket. Unlike his co-stars, however, Stout hasn't had much experience performing in front of the camera. McLaughlin has already secured roles in the upcoming Sky comedy Grow, as well as the BBC action adventure series Gifted, while Stanton has featured in renowned plays such as Matilda the Musical and Starlight Express. In sharp contrast, Alastair Stout, whose real age remains under wraps at the moment, has reportedly only starred in a single advertisement for Albert Bartlett potatoes so far. The newcomer portrays 'Son at dinner' in the commercial, which is titled 'Roll on Jersey Royal Season,' as per The Scotsman. While Harry Potter fans might take some time to adjust to the aforementioned child actors taking over the roles of Hogwarts' iconic trio from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner believes that they have found the right actors to carry on the Harry Potter legacy. 'The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen,' Gardiner noted while confirming the cast for Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the much-awaited Harry Potter reboot. Dept. Q Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on May 30, 2025, 19:30 IST Last updated May 30, 2025, 13:49 IST 'Dept. Q,' Netflix's gripping British crime thriller, captivated audiences with its debut season on May 29, 2025. Adapted from Jussi Adler-Olsen's Danish crime novels, the series follows Detective Chief Inspector Carl Morck, played by Matthew Goode, as he leads a misfit team in solving Edinburgh's cold cases. With Season 1 leaving fans eager for more, speculation about a second season is buzzing. Here's everything we know so far about Dept. Q Season 2. Dept. Q Season 2 Release Date Speculation As of May 30, 2025, Netflix has not officially confirmed a second season for Dept. Q. However, the show's strong reception, compelling narrative, and the wealth of source material from Adler-Olsen's book series fuel optimism for a renewal. If renewed in 2025 and production begins in early 2026, Dept. Q Season 2 could premiere in late 2026 or early 2027, likely between September 2026 and March 2027. Dept. Q Season 2 Expected Cast While no official cast list exists for Season 2, the police procedural format suggests core characters will return, with new faces tied to fresh cases. Here's a look at the likely returning cast: Matthew Goode as DCI Carl Morck : The brilliant yet abrasive detective, haunted by a violent attack that killed a colleague and paralyzed his partner, is the heart of Dept. Q. Jamie Sives as DCI James Hardy : Carl's paralyzed former partner, now walking with crutches after physiotherapy, remains integral to the team's dynamic. Alexej Manvelov as Akram Salim : A Syrian cop turned civilian assistant, his journey toward a DI rank could deepen in Season 2. Leah Byrne as Rose : The cadet seeking to prove herself is a mainstay, bringing fresh energy to the cold case unit. Kelly Macdonald as Dr. Rachel Irving: The police therapist aiding Carl's trauma recovery is likely to return for emotional depth. Dept. Q Season 2 Potential Plot Season 1, based on Adler-Olsen's 'The Keeper of Lost Causes,' ended with Carl and his team rescuing prosecutor Merritt Lingard after four years of captivity, followed by a three-month time jump. The finale teased unresolved threads, setting the stage for Season 2. Here's what we anticipate: The Leith Park Shooting: The ambush that injured Carl, paralyzed Hardy, and killed a young officer remains unsolved. Season 2 may explore this, with DCI Bruce's incompetent investigation offering Carl a chance to dig deeper despite conflicts of interest. New Cold Case: Following the book series, Season 2 might adapt 'The Absent One,' delving into a decades-old case involving a boarding school, the murder of a brother and sister, and a dubious confession. This would introduce fresh mysteries and suspects. Team Dynamics: The misfit squad—Carl, Akram, Rose, and Hardy—will likely grow stronger, with more resources secured via Season 1's budget win. Personal stakes, like Carl's guilt and Hardy's recovery, will deepen the narrative. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Beef Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on May 30, 2025, 18:30 IST Last updated May 30, 2025, 11:22 IST Netflix's critically acclaimed comedy-drama 'Beef' took the world by storm with its first season, earning eight Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. Fans are eagerly awaiting news about Season 2, especially after its confirmation as an anthology series. Here's everything we know so far about 'Beef' Season 2, including release date speculation, cast updates and plot details. Beef Season 2 Release Date Speculation As of May 30, 2025, Netflix has not officially announced a release date for 'Beef' Season 2. However, production began in January 2025, as confirmed by star Carey Mulligan in a Variety interview. Based on the timeline of Season 1, which started filming in April 2022 and premiered in April 2023, a similar one-year production cycle could see Season 2 arriving in late 2025 or early 2026. Speculation points to a potential premiere between December 2025 and spring 2026, depending on post-production and Netflix's scheduling. Expected Cast of Beef Season 2 'Beef' Season 2 will feature an entirely new ensemble, as the series shifts to an anthology format. Here's the expected lineup: Oscar Isaac : Known for 'Dune' and 'Inside Llewyn Davis,' expected to play one half of a feuding couple. Carey Mulligan : The 'Promising Young Woman' and 'Maestro' star, likely paired with Isaac in the central conflict. Charles Melton : Fresh off 'May December,' anticipated to portray one of the younger couple alongside Spaeny. Cailee Spaeny : Recognized for 'Priscilla' and 'Alien: Romulus,' part of the young couple dynamic. Youn Yuh-jung : The Academy Award-winning 'Minari' and 'Pachinko' actress, set to play the Korean billionaire country club owner. Song Kang-ho : The 'Parasite' star, joining in a guest capacity, adding depth to the elite setting. Seoyeon Jang : Known for 'Butterfly,' part of the supporting cast. William Fichtner : Recognized from 'Prison Break,' bringing additional intrigue. Mikaela Hoover: Seen in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,' rounding out the ensemble. Beef Season 2 Potential Plot Details Unlike Season 1, which followed the escalating road rage feud between Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong), Season 2 introduces a fresh story. According to Netflix's official logline, the plot centers on 'a young couple who witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.' This shift explores themes of power, status, and conflict in a high-society setting, promising the same mix of dark comedy, drama, and suspense that made Season 1 a hit. Creator Lee Sung Jin has hinted at boundary-pushing narratives, with the anthology format allowing new character dynamics and rivalries to unfold.
