
Kazipet To Begin Rail Production By 2026, Full Details Inside
The factory, being developed with an investment of Rs 500 crore, is a key part of the Prime Minister's infrastructure push in the region.
Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday inspected the Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet, Telangana, along with Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, and said that the manufacturing process at the facility will start by 2026.
'We will start the manufacturing process here in 2026. This factory has big potential; coaches, along with engines, can be manufactured here. Metro can also be manufactured here," Vaishnaw told the media after the meeting.
'It was a big dream of Telangana to have a coach manufacturing unit in Kazipet. PM Modi has made efforts for many years to fulfil this dream. This is a mega factory for manufacturing railway coaches…It is a modern factory. We are using modern technology here. Rs 500 crore is being invested here," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had in July 2023 laid the foundation stone for several crucial infrastructure development projects in Telangana worth around Rs 6,100 crores in Warangal.
The development works included 176 km long National Highway Projects worth over Rs 5,550 crores and a Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet to be developed at a cost of over Rs 500 crore.
The modern manufacturing unit will have enhanced Rolling Stock manufacturing capacity. It is being equipped with the latest technology standards and facilities such as Robotic Painting of Wagons, State-of-the-art Machinery and a Plant with modern material storage and handling. It will help in local employment generation and the development of ancillary units in nearby areas.

Minister Duraimurugan flags off AC buses in Vellore
Minister for Water Resources Duraimurugan on Saturday flagged off seven new AC buses to big cities and towns including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hosur and Tiruchi at a cost of Rs 3.43 crore at a function in new bus terminus here on Saturday. Officials of The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), which will operate the buses on these new routes, said that a total of 105 new buses including 63 mofussil buses and 27 town buses are being operated from Vellore since 2021. Buses are operated in seven new routes and 23 places, where buses were temporarily halted earlier.'Additional AC buses to cities will help engineering and medical students, who study in Chennai and Bengaluru, to travel easily as Mondays always witness huge crowds at the bus terminus in Vellore,' said K. Suganth, a commuter. As per plan, TNSTC officials said that of the total seven buses, two buses will be operated between Vellore and Chennai, four buses between Bengaluru and Vellore and one bus to Tiruchi every day. On the occasion, Collector V. R. Subbulaxmi and A. Ganapathy, general manager, TNSTC (Vellore), were present.

Punjab School Education Minister Bains Engages Teachers In Dialogue To Elevate Academic Standards
The minister got first-hand feedback and inputs from educators and announced a plan to revamp computer labs with a Rs 400 crore investment In a unique initiative to further enhance the quality and standards of education in the state government schools, Punjab School Education Minister S Harjot Singh Bains engaged in 'Dialogue with Teachers" at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Sangrur, to get first-hand feedback and inputs from educators. While addressing the teachers, Bains highlighted the transformative strides in the state's education system, noting that the government schools are now globally recognised. He emphasised that the government's approach is centred on delivering tangible results, rather than resorting to superficial measures. The minister assured that teachers' issues would be addressed while announcing a plan to revamp computer labs with a Rs 400 crore investment and said that interactive panels are being installed in schools. He also said that a third batch of teachers would be sent abroad for training, and the selection would be based solely on merit. Additionally, the minister highlighted initiatives such as promotions for lecturers, appointments of 400 new principals, and improvements in school infrastructure, including increased access to proper seating and sanitation facilities. He further stated that education is the top priority of the Chief Minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government, while citing Punjab's emergence as a top performer in the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2024, attributing it to the state government's relentless efforts. Furthermore, the Education Minister stated that an impressive 845 government school students passed the highly competitive National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), while 265 students successfully cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains this year, which showcases the school education department's commitment to fostering academic excellence and empowering students to excel in the country's most challenging competitive exams. These remarkable accomplishments showcase the Punjab government's dedication to ensuring quality education and improving student learning outcomes, he said. While congratulating the teachers for transforming education, Bains said that the state government has launched the School of Eminence, School of Happiness, and School of Brilliance schemes to uplift the education system and shape the future of students in government schools. He also highlighted a groundbreaking initiative under the Aam Aadmi Party government, where teachers are being trained in esteemed international institutions in Singapore, Finland, and Ahmedabad to modernise the state's education system. He described the Dialogue with Teachers initiative as a pioneering platform where the administration actively listens to and values teachers' insights, fostering a collaborative approach to education reform. Gandhi Bazaar's Rs 22-crore parking facility awaits inauguration in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: The long-awaited multi-level car parking facility at Gandhi Bazaar in Chickpet is now complete and ready for public use. Constructed under the Bengaluru Smart City initiative at a cost of Rs 22 crore, the facility includes retail and parking infrastructure to ease congestion in one of the city's busiest commercial areas. BBMP chief commissioner Maheshwar Rao directed officials to expedite the opening of the facility. "We must now finalise a date for the deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar to inaugurate the facility and open it to public at the earliest," said Rao, who was overseeing inspections across the south zone. The four-storey structure includes 50 commercial shops on the basement and ground floor and dedicated parking for 124 vehicles across the upper four levels, with each floor accommodating 31 cars. The facility is equipped with a lift, six toilets, staircases, and a tensile roof canopy on the terrace. He expressed appreciation for the integrated development of pedestrian and road infrastructure, adding it would complement the new parking facility and improve overall traffic and pedestrian flow in the area. "BBMP plans to ensure that the commercial units within the building are allocated systematically and the parking system is operated in a smart, transparent manner," said a senior BBMP official.
