History of its origin: As far as history is concerned, the festival came into existence when Draupadi, wife of the Pandavas from Mahabharata, tied a piece of cloth around Lord Krishna's finger which he had cut and was bleeding.

People in Kerala celebrate this festival by laying floral carpets at the entrance of their homes. A grand vegetarian feast is served on banana leaves, and dance performances are also organised across the state. They also wear traditional attire known as Onakkodi. One should definitely visit Kerala and deep dive into the culture of the place.
Ganesh Chaturthi (August 26)
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most special and the much-awaited festivals in Maharashtra. The festival honours Lord Ganesha who is considered the lord of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune, and the remover of obstacles. On this day, the idols of Lord Ganesha are installed in homes and public pandals.
