'Very quiet' £325 tower fan that 'cools the whole room quickly' drops to £76
'My fan arrived yesterday and was a life saver with the impending heatwave this week.' With the UK experiencing a lot of warm weather this year, and temperatures to reach highs of 30C in areas of Scotland today, a fan has become an essential item for households. While handheld fans are perfect for those who commute to work or are travelling, a tower fan is the ideal choice for those who work from home. Able to cool down a whole room and can be left running as you sleep, many shoppers have been rushing to buy a new fan to help combat the heat. For those looking for a bargain, Amazon has slashed hundreds off one of their best-selling fans. Normally retailing for £325, shoppers can now grab the Pureborne 36" Smart Tower Fan for only £75.99. Featuring a stylish and slim design, the Pureborne Tower Fan comes with a base diameter of 32cm and a height of 91cm, making it the perfect size to fit into smaller places without disrupting the room. Also featuring a 90 degree oscillation, this nifty fan will provide a full coverage of the room. Shoppers will be able to choose between four speeds, as well as four different modes - normal, natural, sleep and auto. This can all be controlled by a remote, an app (compatible with iOS and Android) or through voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant for added convenience. Pureborne 36" Smart Tower Fan £324.99 £75.99 Amazon Buy Now Product Description This tower fan is also perfect to use during the night due to its sleep mode. By decreasing the wind speed every 30 minutes by two levels, this fan was designed to not interrupt your sleep. This means shoppers won't need to get up in the middle of the night to turn off the fan if they become too cold. Another popular tower fan on Amazon is the Dimplex DXMBCF Mont Blanc Cooling Fan. Retailing for £84, this tower fan comes with three speed settings and a 78 degree oscillation. This device also comes with a handy remote to help with altering the fan to fit your needs. Alternatively, for those looking for something smaller, Argos is selling the Challenge Mini Tower Fan for £26. With a height of 14 inches, this fan is easy to move around your home. Providing a refreshing breeze, this fan comes with three speeds to choose from. Back to the Pureborne Tower Fan, it has been bought more than 1,000 times in the past month as shoppers look to keep cool over summer. Users have awarded it a 4.6 star rating, with one reviewer dubbing it a 'life saver' for during the heatwave. One happy shopper said: "Extremely pleased with the fan, very quiet plus the bonus of having a sleep timer and an added remote so if used in the bedroom can be turned off without leaving the bed at night, ideal for what we want as it fits in the corner of the bedroom out of the way." While another five-star reviewer wrote: "My fan arrived yesterday and was a life saver with the impending heat wave this week. It was easy to put together, looks stylish, is very quiet and cooled the room effectively. It was worth every penny!" However, some shoppers did grumble about the device. One person said: "Not sure if the one I received was defective or if I'm just overestimating it but regardless. Pretty loud, fairly weak and randomly stops blowing air as it turns...?" While another customer gave a mixed review: "The good thing about this fan is it can be controlled by mobile phone or Alexa. But the thing that I don't like is the background noise when it is running." On the flip side, a top reviewer wrote: "The Pureborne 42' Smart Tower Fan is excellent. Aldi reveals the quietest time to do your supermarket shop over summer
Tackling a big shop when the supermarket is packed full of people can leave you stressed, overstimulated and sometimes even without what you came in for. And thanks to the summer break, anyone who usually times their visits to avoid busy periods will have had their routine thrown into chaos. Thankfully though, Aldi has revealed its quietest times during the school holidays, so you can browse the aisles in (relative) peace. According to in-store data, the golden moment in the mornings is between 8am and 10am — perfect for those who want to get their groceries before the lunchtime rush. While it depends on the branch, Aldi typically puts out its reduced yellow sticker bargains first thing, so this has the added bonus of potentially saving you some cash. But if you're not an early bird, no need to panic. In the afternoons, stores are normally quieter from 4pm to 5pm, after which you risk being disturbed by the after-work crowd. If you prefer to get your shopping done in the evenings, you should wait until 8pm to 10pm. Alongside tips for a peaceful shop, the budget-friendly supermarket shared a few simple ways families can 'shop smart' over the holidays. First off, there's its Summer Support Scheme giveway, where one customer will win a £50 Aldi voucher every day in July and August. To enter, all you need to do is send your name and address to summersupportscheme@ New parents can also get a helping hand, with a £100 voucher giveaway that runs until the end of the year. To be in with a chance, simply send a receipt of a Mamia nappy purchase to mamiaparentfund@ Additionally, Aldi urges shoppers to make the most of its 'Super Six' fresh produce deals – this week, you can find cucumbers and baby potatoes for 69p and tomatoes, blueberries and seedless grapes for £1.19 – and to 'stock up and freeze any suitable items you won't eat right away'. This comes after Lidl recently stole Aldi's crown of cheapest supermarket in the UK – a title it had retained for 20 months in a row. More Trending According to analysis by consumer champions, Which?, a basket of 76 grocery items was cheaper at Lidl than eight of the UK's biggest supermarkets for July, It was certainly close though, with just an 85p price difference between the German discount rivals. At Lidl, the total on average across the month came out to £128.40, with members of the retailer's loyalty scheme saving a further 40p. At Aldi, the same shop – including own-brand and branded items like Hovis bread, Birds Eye Peas, milk and butter – came out at £129.25. Do you have a story to share?
