$81,000 drug bust in Chatham-Kent
Five people have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation in Chatham-Kent.
Police raided a home on Park Street on Wednesday and seized a quantity of fentanyl, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and cocaine, with an estimated street value of $81,000.
A number of other items were also confiscated including two BB guns, a taser, a collapsible baton, and Canadian cash.
Three men between 27 and 34 years old, along with two women aged 34 and 42 are facing a list of charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.
All five suspects are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Riverhead, N.S., man charged with child pornography and child luring offences

The RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Oak Park Road in Riverhead on June 3 and arrested a 41-year-old man. 'Investigators were directed to the residence after a social media application notified law enforcement that child pornography had been transmitted using their service,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. Police say investigators learned the man had allegedly communicated online with a child in Newfoundland and had sent sexually explicit material. Police were able to locate the child and gather evidence. Robert Nickerson has been charged with: possession of child pornography distribution of child pornography luring a child making sexually explicit material available to a child Nickerson has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth provincial court on Sept. 2. Police say there may be more victims and are encouraging anyone with additional information to call their local RCMP detachment or municipal police agency. 'In Nova Scotia it is mandatory for citizens to report suspected child pornography; anyone who comes across child pornography material or recordings must report it to the police. Failure to report could result in penalties similar to those for failure to report child abuse set out in the Child and Family Services Act,' reads the release. Ottawa police seek suspect following damage to vehicles in Industrial Park area
Ottawa police are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of damaging vehicles in the 1500 block of Michael Street on April 30, 2025. Police say on April 30, a man entered a property in the 1500 block of Michael Street, near Belfast Road, and allegedly caused 'significant damage' to two vehicles. At the time, he was wearing a black zip-up sweater with white stripes on one of the sleeves, grey pants and white sneakers.
