Jonathan Joss
, the actor and voice artist, passed away at the age of 59 after being shot multiple times. The alleged murderer, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, has been charged with felony first-degree murder, and he shot the actor during an argument, according to the neighbours.
What happened at the crime scene?
As per a report by Variety, San Antonio police were on their way to a shooting at his house around 7 p.m. on June 1. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found him wounded near the road after being shot multiple times. Though the cops tried to perform life-saving measures till the medical help arrived, Joss was declared dead at the scene.

The shooter fled the crime scene but was detained by police a block away and booked for murder.
According to TMZ, the neighbours reported that Ceja and Jonathan had multiple fights before, and that Joss has a habit of weird things, such as screaming rants abruptly.
The witnesses told TMZ that before the shooting, Joss was in his former home in Texas, which was destroyed by flames in February, to collect a fire fund cheque. Joss found a skeleton of one of his beloved dogs that had passed away in the fire, which made him upset, and he started yelling at the neighbours, including Ceja, who lived two doors down from his house.

In a statement on Jonathan Joss' Facebook page, his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, stated that they were targets of homophobic harassment and that their house was on fire after the neighbours repeatedly threatened to do so. Gonzales expressed that Joss was 'murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.'
'When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view.
This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw,' Jonathan's husband said in the statement.
'While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired. Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way.
He saved my life.' he continued.
'Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future. He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other,' he stated before adding, 'I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved.'
