Global Hospital Information System (HIS) Market Set to Surpass USD 91.7B by 2030, Amid North America Dominance and APAC Surge
"Global Hospital Information System (HIS) Market Research Report by Arizton" Industry Analysis Report, Regional Outlook, Growth Potential, Price Trends, Competitive Market Share & Forecast 2025–2030. According to Arizton's latest research, the global hospital information system (HIS) market is projected to grow from USD 51.09 billion in 2024 to USD 91.72 billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of 10.24% during the forecast period. Report Summary: Market Size (2030): USD 91.72 Billion Market Size (2024): USD 51.09 Billion CAGR (2024-2030): 10.24% HISTORIC YEAR: 2021-2023 BASE YEAR: 2024 Forecast Year: 2025-2030 Largest Region (2024): North America Fastest-Growing Region: APAC Market Segmentation: Component, Deployment Mode, System Type, Facility Type, and Geography Geographic Analysis: North America, Europe, APAC, Latin America, and the Middle East & Africa Cloud HIS: Turning Hospital Data into Smarter, Faster Care The migration to cloud-based hospital information systems marks a major milestone in healthcare digital transformation. By moving from large upfront hardware investments to flexible, subscription-based models, hospitals can achieve cost savings of around 30 % while scaling operations to meet fluctuating patient volumes and emerging technology needs. Cloud platforms also enable AI and machine learning integration, supporting advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and smarter operational decisions. While public cloud currently leads the market due to cost advantages, hybrid models are expected to grow fastest, balancing data security with operational flexibility in regulated healthcare environments. Real-world examples highlight the impact, AdventHealth completed a $660 million migration of 37 hospitals to Epic's cloud-hosted EHR, and NHS Trusts deployed cloud-based TeleTracking software for patient flow and bed management. These implementations demonstrate how cloud HIS drives efficiency, reduces wait times, and delivers actionable insights, underscoring its strategic value and growth potential in the global HIS market. Hospital Information System Market - 2025 Snapshot: Dedalus + AWS: Driving cloud migrations and managed EPR services across Europe and beyond. AI-Powered Interoperability: MEDITECH & Google Cloud bring smarter search, summarization, and a strong partner ecosystem to streamline clinical workflows. Voice-First EHRs: Oracle's next-gen AI-enabled platform reduces documentation time, pushing intelligent care into production. Epic's Global Surge: Largest net gain in hospital decisions worldwide in 2024, solidifying international dominance. From Data to Decisions: HIE Transforming Care Health Information Exchange (HIE) enables healthcare organizations to share clinical data securely and electronically, delivering safer, faster, and more patient-centered care. The rapid growth of digital health records and the global shift toward value-based care make seamless data exchange essential for improving outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing healthcare quality. Interoperability, the ability of systems, applications, and devices to access, exchange, and integrate data, now plays a critical role in coordinated care. Vendors actively develop HIS platforms with open architecture and standardized data formats, while forming partnerships, pursuing mergers, and offering third-party interoperability as a service solution to meet the rising demand for connected, patient-centric healthcare. Global HIS Market: North America Dominates, APAC Surges Ahead North America holds over 40% of the global hospital information system (HIS) market, driven by regulatory pressure for open data, rapid cloud adoption, and strong demand for advanced analytics and AI. Market consolidation is likely around vendors with proven interoperability, cloud capabilities, and validated outcomes, while new entrants focus on specialized and ambulatory segments. Health systems prioritize governance, change management, and turning data into safer, more efficient care over HIS brand alone. The U.S. remains the most influential market, combining deep capital, dense vendor ecosystems, regulatory requirements for interoperability and patient access, and high adoption of analytics, telehealth, and cloud services. Meanwhile, APAC is projected to grow at a CAGR of 12.03%, fueled by aging populations, rising incomes, and government-backed digital health initiatives. Hospitals are moving from isolated EMRs to enterprise HIS suites that integrate clinical, administrative, supply chain, and population-health functions, while telemedicine, decision support, and digital workflows continue to drive adoption and efficiency. B.C. ostrich farm loses appeal against avian flu cull
A sign calling for the protection of ostriches at the Universal Ostrich Farms is displayed at the farm in Edgewood, B.C., on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Hundreds of supporters flocked to the farm over the Victoria Day long weekend to protest the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's order to cull 400 ostriches. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Aaron Hemens The Federal Court of Appeal has rejected a bid by a British Columbia ostrich farm to prevent the culling of its flock that had been infected with avian flu. The court has dismissed two applications by Universal Ostrich Farms over the cull of about 400 birds, which was sought by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. It says the 'stamping out' policy of the agency, in which infected poultry flocks are killed, is reasonable, and that criteria to apply it had been met in the case of the farm in Edgewood, B.C. The planned cull had drawn opposition from United States officials, including Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The court ruling says that the killing of the birds will 'doubtless be very difficult, both financially and emotionally' for the farmers. But it says it's not the role of the court to grant exemptions from governmental policy. This report by The Canadian Press was first published Aug. 21, 2025.

Moose Jaw doctors leaving hospital, provincial NDP calls it a ‘crisis'
WATCH: The Saskatchewan NDP said eight doctors have left Moose Jaw in the last year. Damian Smith has more on how the province is responding. As another doctor prepares to leave Moose Jaw's Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, the provincial NDP is calling for more to be done to keep doctors in the province. 'That's a crisis for this city and thousands of Moose Jaw residents who rely on these doctors for care.' NDP MLA Jared Clarke said on Wednesday. The NDP said according to frontline sources, eight doctors have left Moose Jaw over the past year, driven by factors like burnout and stress, along with two retirements. Clarke said if a city of Moose Jaw's size can't retain its doctors, it raises questions about the rest of the province. 'Unfortunately, this problem is not limited just to Moose Jaw, it's a pattern across Saskatchewan,' he said. 'As of [Tuesday], there were 286 vacant physician positions in the province.' In a statement to CTV News, the Government of Saskatchewan said they are actively working to fill upcoming physician vacancies. According to the province, since their Health Human Resources action plan was launched in 2022, Moose Jaw has seen 21 healthcare professionals hired under the rural and remote recruitment incentive, while 512 physicians have established practice in the province. Additionally, the province says the Saskatchewan Health Authority has expanded medical residency seats and other training opportunities in Moose Jaw -- along with La Ronge, Prince Albert, North Battleford and Swift Current through various partnerships. However, the opposition says more needs to be done to take the workload off family doctors, saying that Saskatchewan holds the second worst provincial rate for doctor retention behind only Newfoundland. 'Families deserve stability and access to care but the party is pushing doctors to the brink and out of our province,' Clarke said. 'We need better incentives to keep doctors here, better recruitment and an end to the policies that pull doctors away from patient care.' 'We also need to take a critical look at how we provide primary care in this province, because the current model is obviously not working. This is about the future of our communities, of our province,' he added.
