SEARCY, Ark. – Authorities said two men have been arrested after one overdosed in a Searcy bowling alley earlier in the month.
After an investigation, Searcy police arrested Super Bowl manager James Preston Tarkington, who survived the overdose. He is now in jail with no bond. His charges include fentanyl possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

Authorities also charged John Sterling Holmes with trafficking a controlled substance after finding fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia inside the bowling alley and Holmes's car. He has a $150,000 bond.
The bowling alley on Main Street is popular for birthdays and league play. It was a frequent spot for Charity Boyd, who played on the Searcy High School bowling team and later worked for Tarkington.
'He would come over. He would show us how to do certain things alongside Coach Leonard,' Boyd remembered.

Barbie Whitlow used to bowl there and stated the families are lucky the two were caught because she knows fentanyl can destroy far more than reputations. Her daughter, Amanda Destiny, died from a fentanyl overdose in September 2024.
'Those guys were 32 years old. Both of them were, and Amanda would be 32 today,' Whitlow said.
Jessica Brawley also lives in White County. She hopes there is a future for both men and the place where generations of families have gone for entertainment.
'It is shocking. I mean, you're in a family place and you're doing fentanyl,' Brawley said. 'I'll make the drive for my kids to have a good time and be safe.'

Holmes' first court date is June 3. Tarkington's is on July 8.

What was the police response on Pioneer Monday in Puyallup? Here's what we know

Two men are in custody and one is on the loose after an early-morning burglary in Bonney Lake, according to police. Mark Berry, police chief for the Bonney Lake Police Department, told The News Tribune the burglary happened at a local pharmacy at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. When The News Tribune asked him for the name of the pharmacy, he declined to answer but said it is in the area of 204th Avenue East and state Route 410. Berry said the suspects were three men. When police showed up at the pharmacy, they saw one of the men flee out the window and the two other men drive away in a white SUV, he said. Berry said investigators used the city's Flock license plate camera system 'to identify the suspect vehicle and put that information out.' A K9 from the Puyallup Police Department found the three men driving at 13th Street Southeast and Pioneer Way East in Puyallup, Berry said. The three men then ran out of the car and officers used a drone and a K9 to find two of the suspects, who are now in custody. The third is still at large. 'After a search warrant on the vehicle, we recovered several bags of stolen prescription narcotics from the pharmacy, as well as burglary tools,' Berry said. 'We are currently working with other agencies in the area who have reported similar burglaries.' Berry said the third man was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a mask.

Seattle Police: Man stabbed in the buttocks during drunken fight

A man is recovering after police say he was stabbed in the buttocks following a fight with an acquaintance. Seattle police responded to Beacon Ave. S and 15th Ave. S. around 8:20 p.m. for reports of a person stabbed. They found the 59-year-old victim on a King County Metro Coach with a stab wound to the buttocks. He was treated by the fire department and taken to Harborview Medical Center. According to police, the man and the suspect, his acquaintance, were drinking alcohol behind a gas station. While they were drinking, they got into an argument and the suspect stabbed the victim, police said. Officers set up a security perimeter around the area for a K9 scent track. However, the K9 team could not conduct the search due to the highly populated area. Officers did not locate the suspect. If anyone has information on the stabbing, they are asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
