Harry Kane finishes Bundesliga as the top-scorer again
SINSHEIM, Germany — Harry Kane didn't need to start Bayern Munich's last game of the Bundesliga to finish as the league's top-scorer again.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany suggested before the game that the team's title-winning celebrations had taken their toll when he opted to start Kane among the substitutes for Saturday's match at Hoffenheim.

Utrecht pull off stunt to sign Bayern Munich prospect, medical examination already completed
Utrecht will strengthen their selection with Emirhan Demircan, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Thursday afternoon (via VoetbalPrimeur). The Turkish talent is swapping Bayern Munich, where he was the second team's top scorer last season, for the Domstad on a free transfer. He has even undergone a medical examination. Advertisement The 20-year-old Demircan is considered a great talent at Bayern. The German-born left winger has played at youth international level for Turkey and was the top performer for Der Rekordmeister's second team in the German fourth tier last term, with six goals and five assists. These figures (in 20 games) earned him the interest of Besiktas, Rangers, Hoffenheim and, of course, Utrecht. Romano understands that Demircan's free transfer is complete. The attacker has even undergone a medical examination at De Galgenwaard, where he will sign a contract until the summer of 2028. With Utrecht, Demircan will play European football. The Domstedelingen finished fourth last season, which qualified them for the second preliminary round of the Europa League. Advertisement Although a great bit of business, Demircan is far from Utrecht's last summer signing. The club previously acquired Gjivai Zechiël, Mike Eerdhuijzen, Derry Murkin, Dani de Wit and Davy van den Berg. They are also working on a longer stay for Sébastien Haller, as was recently reported. Liverpool can now UNLEASH set-piece specialist
We're talking about Dominik Szoboszlai, of course. He's not had a lot of opportunities to take free-kicks and set-pieces at Liverpool but he has proven himself as a very adept set-piece taker before his move to Anfield. Advertisement At RB Leipzig just under 35% of his total goal contributions for the German side in the Bundesliga came from set-pieces. In total Szoboszlai has scored eight goals directly from a free-kick during the same period as Alexander-Arnold at club level. In that period he also has three direct free-kick goals for his country as well, against Slovakia, Turkey and Bulgaria. As a youngster, when I spoke to Szoboszlai's father, he revealed that his son would practise around 100-200 free-kicks everyday. That level of dedication has made the Hungarian into a deadly set-piece taker.

Germany picks experienced squad for Euro 2025 but leaves out two critics
RUST, Germany (AP) — Germany has retained 11 players who reached the 2022 Women's European Championship final for Euro 2025. There's no place for two prominent critics of coach Christian Wück. The 23-player squad announced on Thursday is captained by Bayern Munich's Giulia Gwinn, one of the returning players from the team which lost to England in the 2022 final . North Carolina Courage defender Felicitas Rauch and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Nicole Anyomi were in the 2022 squad but aren't this time. Both have previously criticized Wück for what they called a lack of communication around his decision not to pick them for earlier squads. Rauch was among 12 players included in a reserve list on Thursday. The 20-year-old forward Cora Zicai is considered one of Germany's brightest young players after scoring two goals in her three national team games. Germany starts its Euro 2025 campaign in Switzerland on July 4 with a group game against Poland followed by Denmark on July 8 and Sweden on July 12. Since the last Euros, Germany suffered its worst ever World Cup result in 2023 with elimination in the group stage, but rebounded to win the bronze medal at last year's Paris Olympics. ___ AP soccer:
