Blow for Sharks as Eben Etzebeth ruled out of URC semi-final against Bulls
Etzebeth and Jenkins were the starting second row for last week's dramatic quarter-final defeat of Munster in Durban, but both picked up injuries in the bruising encounter.
The Sharks' lock pairing for the trip to Loftus Versfeld is Emile van Heerden and Corne Rahl.
Etzebeth has had an injury-plagued season and his absence against the Bulls is unfortunate.
The most capped Springbok of all time, Etzebeth's experience, inspiration and brute strength would have been a vital tool for the Sharks against the in-form Bulls pack.
The 33-year-old missed five months of rugby because of a concussion injury and then picked up a hamstring injury at a Bok alignment camp in March.
He has been excellent for the Sharks since making his comeback last month, earning two Player of the Match awards.
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi will captain the side in Etzebeth's absence. Kolisi is at No 8 and apart from the new second row, the pack is unchanged.
Coach John Plumtree has also been able to field the same backline that played against Munster. There is a fresh backline face on the bench in the form of Jurenzo 'The Boogie Man' Julius. He is back from injury and replaces Francois Venter.
The lock cover on the bench is Deon Slabbert, the 2m, 117kg former Pumas lock. Plumtree also has the option of moving flank Vincent Tshituka to lock during the game, and bringing on Phepsi Buthelezi.

Sekhukhune United will face Stellenbosch in the MTN8 semi-final second leg at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday at 6pm, trailing 2-0 from last weekend's first-leg defeat in Stellenbosch. The ginger-haired coach lamented after that game that his troops had not followed his instructions. That loss also dented their perfect start to the season, having won all three of their opening matches — two in the Betway Premiership and one in the Wafa Wafa Cup. However, Tinkler's troops bounced back on Tuesday night, defeating newcomers Orbit College 3-0 away. In knockout matches, clean sheets are as important as goals. Having already conceded twice away to Stellenbosch, Sekhukhune cannot afford to concede at home. A goal for Stellenbosch in Polokwane would count twice — cushioning their lead and providing an away-goal advantage, if needed. Renaldo Leaner and his defence must be as solid as they were against Orbit, avoiding the mistakes made in the first leg. Goals will also be crucial if Sekhukhune are to come back and progress to the MTN8 final for the first time since their promotion four seasons ago. That is where Bradley Grobler and company enter the equation. They need to bring their scoring boots and showcase relentless attacking prowess against an improving Stellenbosch defence. What will please Tinkler heading into the game is that Keletso Makgalwa is in fine form, living up to his 'King of Assists' moniker. The coach admitted before the first leg that transfer rumours seemed to have affected the player's performances. He advised Makgalwa that the only way to attract serious interest from other clubs was to improve on last season's form, and the club would not stand in his way if genuine offers came in. The former Mamelodi Sundowns youth product appears to have heeded his coach's advice. After just five games this season, he is only seven assists shy of last season's tally. Makgalwa's progress has not gone unnoticed by rival fans either — some Orlando Pirates supporters have suggested he could replace Relebohile Mofokeng should the youngster move abroad. Mofokeng is reportedly on the radar of MLS side Minnesota United, who have allegedly tabled an offer close to $2 million (about R35m). While a move abroad may be out of Makgalwa's control, he can determine his own fate by staying consistent and delivering top-level performances week in and week out. The talented utility back could play a number of different roles in the second Test against the Wallabies in Cape Town. Springbok utility back Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is ready for whatever role is required of him when he plays off the bench against the Wallabies at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening. Feinberg-Mngomezulu will feature as a member of the Bok 'bomb squad' for the match, and could play a crucial role, depending on what situation the team are in when he comes on. The match situation will also determine whether he plays flyhalf, fullback or even centre. With it a must-win game to keep their Rugby Championship hopes alive, and the Boks needing to overturn their poor defeat against the Aussies on the Highveld, Feinberg-Mngomezulu could be required to make a big impact. 'I could also be coming on for an injury. I experienced that against Ireland last year (when he replaced a concussed Willie le Roux in the second minute),' explained Feinberg-Mngomezulu. 'There are a lot of situations (that could happen). I think just sitting next to the line on the bench and kind of staying in touch with Felix Jones (assistant coach) on the side sets you up best for whether you are coming on in the first minute or the 79th minute. 'So just staying in touch with the game, and knowing what the team needs when I come on … If I can do that, along with the other guys in the 'bomb squad,' I think we will be alright.' A few weeks ago, after naming Feinberg-Mngomezulu at flyhalf to face the Barbarians, also in Cape Town at the start of the season, coach Rassie Erasmus said that they were trying to get the balance right, between the Stormers man playing his usual, free flowing attacking game, but within the Bok system. Expand game Feinberg-Mngomezulu admitted that was something that he was still trying to come to grips with, especially as he continues to expand his game, while playing in other positions in the team. 'I think it's going to take a bit of time (to get used to that). But the coach is spot on. We saw this (past) weekend what can happen when we sort of drift away from our system, structures and the fundamentals that make us a successful team,' said Feinberg-Mngomezulu. 'So that is definitely something I am trying to hone into. It's been a focus point for the last three or so weeks, and it's something I am constantly growing into. 'It's something that I am going to be patient with, and try to do as best I can because when you enforce the Bok fundamentals, that's when the team really thrives. That's when we put ourselves in positions we want and the opposition in positions they don't want.'

Blue Bulls back signs for Newcastle Red Bulls
A Vodacom Bulls back will leave Loftus Versfeld at the end of the 2025 Currie Cup season to join English Premiership club Newcastle Red Bulls. Flyhalf Boeta Chamberlain signed for the Bulls last year followi ng a successful stint with the Sharks, where he made 59 appearances and scored over 150 points. A versatile backline player capable of operating at fullback, the 26-year-old quickly integrated into the Bulls setup, contributing with his tactical kicking game, composure under pressure, and attacking flair. A product of Paarl Boys' High and a former South Africa U20 representative, Chamberlain has proven himself across both hemispheres, having featured in the Vodacom URC and EPCR competitions.
