NBA YoungBoy Reportedly Released from Prison
Wondering what's really going on with NBA YoungBoy's release from prison? On March 24, unexpected news emerged, with reports claiming the rapper was already out—well ahead of his scheduled date. Whether you've been following his legal battles closely or just caught the headlines, this development raises major questions.
Here's what we know so far about his reported release and what it could mean moving forward.
NBA YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has reportedly been released from Talladega Federal Correctional Institution in Alabama (via HotNewHipHop).
Although the prison and his attorney have not confirmed it, multiple sources suggest YoungBoy is no longer in custody. DJ Akademiks, court records, and social media posts from affiliates support this claim. His release was expected on April 26, 2025, but he was reportedly freed a month early and moved to an undisclosed location, possibly a halfway house or his home.
'UHHHHHH OHHHHH MY BABY IS BACK HOMMMEEEEEEE,' wrote NBA affiliate OG 3Three on Instagram Stories. Rich The Kid also posted 'YB Free!!!' on X. The Federal Bureau of Prisons moved YoungBoy's scheduled release date from July 27, 2025, to April 26, 2025. With time served, he reportedly served 11 months of his 23-month sentence.
Authorities arrested YoungBoy on April 16, 2024, at his Utah home for running a prescription drug fraud ring and possessing firearms as a convicted felon. He was already under house arrest for a separate gun case in Louisiana. In November 2024, he pleaded guilty to 10 drug-related charges and received a suspended sentence and a $25,000 fine. In December, he pleaded guilty to the firearm charge and received a 23-month sentence.
He is now under five years of supervised release, which includes conditions such as up to six monthly drug and alcohol tests and completion of mental health and substance abuse evaluations. His attorney, Drew Findling, previously stated, 'People are going to be shocked at how quickly he'll be out… So, it all may work out for him.' NBA YoungBoy has not publicly addressed his release at this time.

"I had no other choice" - Dwyane Wade on suing estranged wife over STD claim tied to alleged affair
"I had no other choice" - Dwyane Wade on suing estranged wife over STD claim tied to alleged affair originally appeared on Basketball Network. When family drama ends up in court, you know things have really gone south. That's exactly the situation Dwyane Wade found himself in February of 2009. Advertisement At the time, the Miami Heat superstar felt his private life was being shattered by what he believed were false accusations from his estranged wife, Siohvaughn Wade. He responded with a bold move: suing her and her three lawyers for defamation. "It has been difficult to see false allegations, rumors and gossip repeatedly discussed in public about my personal life," surprised Wade stated, per ESPN. "I had no other choice but to file this action in order to clear my name." Wade experienced off-the-court turmoil At the time, Wade and the Heat were bouncing back from a brutal 2007–08 season. Much of that upward trend was thanks to Wade, who had put up some of the best numbers in his career. But while things looked promising on the court, he was facing serious trouble off it. Advertisement Early that year, Dwyane's estranged wife and former high school sweetheart, Siohvaughn — whom he had married in 2002 — had filed serious accusations. She claimed he had infected her with a sexually transmitted disease through an extramarital affair in 2007 and accused him of abandoning their children for weeks at a time. Court filings also revealed their youngest son — one of their three children — had grown so distant from the 27-year-old that he no longer recognized him as his father and would break down in tears during visits. At the same time, Wade was already under the tabloid spotlight. His split from Siohvaughn — and the messy divorce proceedings that followed — had become media fodder, and things only got worse. Advertisement The Palm Beach Post reported claims from a former business partner, who was suing the 2007 Finals MVP over a failed restaurant venture. He alleged that D-Wade used a rented Miami apartment for sex parties and smoked marijuana there. However, that wasn't enough to satisfy her NBA star husband, who argued her allegations not only defamed him but also caused embarrassment and humiliation and harmed his future earning potential. Advertisement ESPN reported that Wade's legal team claimed in their lawsuit filed in Chicago that Siohvaughn Wade's allegations, made through her attorneys and spread by print and online media worldwide, placed plaintiff Dwyane Wade in a false light. While the future three-time NBA champion wanted to clear his name, move on quietly, and finally live in peace, his wife's lawyers saw a clear conflict between that and his actions. "It seems interesting to me Wade would file a lawsuit like this when he supposedly wants to keep a low profile. This lawsuit will put his entire private and social life in full view of the public," said Michael Berger, Mrs. Wade's attorney at the time. The outcome of Wade's lawsuit remains unknown publicly, as settlement details were never disclosed. What is clear, however, is that their relationship became messy and deteriorated over time. Advertisement "Our relationship was rocky," the Hall of Famer said in Life Unexpected. "We had been together since we were 16 years old, so we had a lot of differences and we didn't know how to handle those." Charles Barkley Drops Retirement Plans After Final 'Inside the NBA' TNT Episode
Charles Barkley Drops Retirement Plans After Final 'Inside the NBA' TNT Episode originally appeared on Athlon Sports. "Inside the NBA" has been a staple for basketball fans for the past 36 years, and on Saturday night, TNT aired its final episode. Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, and the rest of the crew aren't going away, though, with the show moving to ESPN starting next season. Advertisement It was a bittersweet moment for everyone at TNT. But despite the move, the crew will continue working with TNT and ESPN simultaneously. Barkley was a guest on the "Dan Patrick Show," and said, "If they're being honest, we're gonna probably work on ESPN one-third or half the time." Barkley has been outspoken about his concerns with the move because of his schedule. He has made it clear he doesn't want to take on more work as he is set to move between the two networks. "If they start trying to work me too much between ESPN and TNT, I'm just gonna walk on home," Barkley added. Advertisement Barkley went on to discuss his retirement plans, saying he has seven years left on his TNT deal, but he's only got two more years in him. "I actually have seven years left on my contract," Barkley stated. "I'm like, yeah, there's no way I'm working seven years. I said, I'm gonna be a good soldier for Kenny, Ernie, and Shaq, and the people I work with. Because I love the people I work with, especially behind the scenes. "I said, but the best I can do is two years. And them other five years, they got no chance of happening. So I said, you know what, I'll give y'all two years. They're like, can we get three? I said, I just told you, I ain't gonna give you two." 11-time NBA All-Star and "Inside the NBA" host Charles Terada-Imagn Images The 16-year NBA legend also spoke about what he's going to be doing at TNT now that the show is moving to ESPN. He said he and the rest of his crew filmed a "pilot" a month ago for TNT and called it the "stupidest (expletive) I've ever seen." Advertisement "TNT is trying to do something stupid behind the scenes," Barkley added. "We taped a pilot about a month ago. And it was the stupidest (expletive) I've ever seen in my life... Barkley said TNT wants to have a show with no "basketball highlights." "Number one, we won't have basketball highlights," Barkley said. "But also, we're probably going to be going up against the NBA game. And anybody who likes basketball ain't going to say, hey, you know what, let me turn off an NBA game that's on Amazon, ESPN, or NBC to go watch these four dudes sit around and talk about nothing." Michael Jordan News Emerges Amid $40 Million NBA Return Rumors
Michael Jordan News Emerges Amid $40 Million NBA Return Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Michael Jordan, widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time, is set to return to the NBA next season. While he won't be suiting up and stepping on the court, he'll be taking on a new role. With the league's broadcast moving from TNT to NBC for the 2025-26 season, Jordan will serve as a "special contributor" for NBC's coverage. Advertisement His exact role hasn't been announced, but getting the six-time NBA champion to come out of retirement and appear on television likely took a lot. On the "PBD Podcast," Patrick Bet-David mentioned that Jordan is reportedly receiving a $40 million annual deal. Michael Jordan is honored for being selected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Terada-Imagn Images On Monday, Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports (FOS) confirmed that the amount is inaccurate. "A source tells Front Office Sports that this number, which is about twice what Charles Barkley makes per year from TNT, is inaccurate. NBC declined to comment," Glasspiegel wrote. Despite the NBA's coverage moving on from TNT, Barkley is still under contract with the network as he prepares to work for both TNT and ESPN next season. He signed a 10-year, $210 million extension with TNT in 2022, according to FOS's Michael McCarthy. Advertisement ESPN's Stephen A. Smith was on that episode of the "PDBD Podcast" and shared he thinks Jordan will be "brutally honest" when he's on the air next season. "Let me tell you something about Michael Jordan: He's going to be brutally honest—oh, I can assure you that,' Smith said. "He's not going to be somebody who's going to be passive…The Michael Jordan I know, when talking basketball, he is as candid as it gets. He ain't trying to hurt nobody's feelings. He ain't trying to be insulting but he's going to tell you what's going on."
