Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk let loose during the Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup parade, but not every fan appreciated the expletive-filled show they put on during Sunday's event.

Both stars echoed UFC fighter Conor McGregor's famous line in speeches laced with expletives that stirred a mixed reaction on X.
'A lot of people don't like the way we play. They call us dirty. They call us nasty. They call us bullies,' Bennett said. 'So, I would like to take this time to apologize to absolutely (expletive) no one. We are the double champs. We do what the (expletive) we want.'
Tkachuk followed with his own version of McGregor's quote, saying, 'I would like to apologize to absolutely (expletive) nobody because a double champ does whatever the (expletive) he wants.'
Bennett and Tkachuk's unapologetic tone and language drew sharp criticism from some fans online, who took issue with the lack of restraint they showed during such a public celebration.

'Show some class. There are kids in the crowd and you're supposed to be 'heroes' and 'role models,'' @BillHuntFreddy wrote.
'So much for winning with humility,' @greggparini posted.
'I'm sorry but this is so cringey,' @HskrsStarsBucs commented.

'The speeches by Tkachuk and Bennett are pretty classless. These guys are pro athletes with lots of kids listening and watching their every move…' @originalroyboy wrote.
'Classless display. Shame on the NHL for players on this team to act like this in public. It's a shameful display,' @Lawrence_Sprung posted.
'Yay, if I swear it will make me a better role model,' @McCrackerface opined.

Lionsgate & Universal's Michael Jackson Biopic ‘Michael' Moves To Pre-Summer 2026

Lionsgate and Universal's Michael Jackson biopic Michael is officially moving to Friday, April 24, 2026, and that's a global theatrical release. At the same time, we hear that a second movie about Jackson remains in development. More from Deadline 'Good Fortune' Trailer: Aziz Ansari Comedy With Keanu Reeves & Seth Rogen Headed For TIFF Ryan Fleck & Anna Boden's 'Freaky Tales' Sets HBO Max Premiere Date Lionsgate Marketing Heads JP Richards And Keri Moore Exiting Company We told you at CinemaCon there were distribution plans afoot for this on the Antoine Fuqua directed, Graham King produced feature. Michael will also get a release on Imax screens. The delay with Michael has been twofold, one being length — there was a first cut in excess of three and a half hours. There have also been reports that the initial cut of the movie made references to 13-year old Jordan Chandler, who accused Jackson of molestation, and who the pop singer settled with for $20M in 1994 with no admission of guilt. The Jackson estate explicitly wanted nothing about Chandler in the film, which led to more shoots on the production. Three-time Oscar nominee John Logan penned the screenplay. Jackson's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, plays the King of Pop. Currently, there aren't any major studio wide entries on April 24 next year, hence a great choice for Lionsgate. Michael will open in the wake of New Line/Blumhouse's Lee Cronin's The Mummy and Amazon MGM Studios/Miramax's Liam Neeson starring, Frankie Shaw directed 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank on April 17. Michael will also precede the May 1 release of 20th Century Studios' The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Warner Bros/Legenary's Animal Friends. This is the third time that Michael has moved. The pic's first release date was April 18, 2025 then Oct. 3, 2025. Oscar winner King's previous music biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, won four Oscars and grossed over $910M at the worldwide box office. Kino Films is releasing the movie in Japan while Universal has the rest of the world. Messi, Alba risk ban after MLS All-Star game withdrawal

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami team-mate Jordi Alba could face a suspension after withdrawing from Major League Soccer's All-Star game. Argentina superstar Messi and Alba had been due to start for a combined MLS team which will face a squad representing Mexico's Liga-MX in Austin later Wednesday. However a league source said Inter Miami had notified officials on Wednesday that both Messi and Alba had been pulled from the event. Under MLS rules, both Messi and Alba could be given a one-game suspension unless they have a valid reason for the withdrawal, such as an injury. A league source told AFP however no decision on possible disciplinary action would be taken until MLS officials had spoken to Inter Miami to confirm the circumstances of the withdrawal. The duo's participation in Wednesday's mid-season exhibition game had been under a cloud after Miami coach Javier Mascherano indicated at the weekend he wanted Messi and Alba to rest. "The players are called up. I'd prefer they rest, but it's not my decision," Mascherano said. "I know how important the All-Star Game is, and as far as I know, there's no decision from the club - everything continues as normal." Both Messi, 38, and Alba, 36, have a history of recent injury problems while Inter Miami has faced a gruelling schedule which included participation in the recent FIFA Club World Cup. rcw/ea
