Mini-LED TVs offer you the best bang for your buck when buying a new TV. While OLEDs might get all the hype for their rich blacks and improved contrast, there's no denying that Mini-LED TVs are up there in terms of picture performance.
What Mini-LED TVs offer over OLEDs is cheaper prices at higher configurations. Who doesn't want a new 98-inch Mini-LED TV for less than $2,000? Models like the Panasonic W95A and TCL QM7K Mini-LED TVs give you that big screen kick without the exorbitant price tag.
Below I've listed my favorite Mini-LEDs in terms of general pricing and performance, but there's no real order to the list. In fact, the Sony Bravia 9 is probably one of the best TVs you can buy bar none, but I personally recommend the Hisense U8QG for its current sticker price of just under $1,000.
Quick List

Best Mini-LED TVs
Hisense U8QG Mini-LED TV
So far, the Hisense U8QG has proven its mettle as one of the best Mini-LED TVs for under $1,000 in 2025. I reviewed the Hisense U8QG earlier this year and loved its slew of gaming features, especially its higher 165Hz refresh rate. It's also a unicorn in terms of its speaker configuration, offering one of the most bombastic sound systems I've tested on a TV this year.
It's mostly held back by its minimal glare mitigation and blooming, which is easy to look past when you're paying just under $1,000 for a 65-inch TV released in 2025. You'll also have to contend with just three HDMI 2.1 ports, but if you're a PC gamer you'll love the USB-C connection.
It's not everyday you see a brand new 2025 model getting a major discount on the heels of its release, but the U8QG is an icon in this regard (and many more). It's bound to be among our favorite gaming TVs this year thanks to its slew of gaming features and its 165Hz refresh rate.

TCL QM7K Mini-LED TV
The TCL QM7K is yet another Mini-LED that benefits from budget pricing. Like most Mini-LED TVs on this list, you'll find it comes resplendent with tons of luminance, which we tested at 1,734 nits in HDR. It's also equipped with a low Delta-E of just 1.4 (the lower the better), making it incredibly color-accurate.
Like the Hisense U8QG, we also gave the TCL QM7K four stars in our official review. It struggles at handling off-angled viewing and is built with a middling speaker system, but that's nothing one of the best soundbars can't fix.
Take Filmmaker mode out for a test drive on the all-new TCL QM7K, the brand's budget-friendly, mid-range Mini-LED TV for 2025. The QM7K cracks an impressive 1,700 nits of brightness in HDR, pairing these searing highlights with impressive backlight control. When you're done with movie night, switch over to the QM7K's dedicated game mode for smooth gameplay up to 4K/144Hz.

Panasonic W95A Mini-LED TV
The Panasonic W95A Mini-LED TV was an exciting model to test and review last year, coming from a renowned TV maker that only just returned to the US market after an eight-year hiatus.
While it has superb color accuracy, HDR performance, and anti-glare mitigation, the biggest downside was its price: The W95A launched at $3,000 last year, making it no match against similarly-specced TVs from TCL and Hisense.
Since release, its price has dropped dramatically and you'd be hard-pressed to find as good a screen at such a low price.
The only major issue is its Fire TV smart platform. This is an easy fix, though, as you can easily replace the interface using one of the best streaming devices.
The Panasonic W95A is a real looker. It leverages a 144Hz refresh rate on a design that features two HDMI 2.1 ports and AMD FreeSync compatibility. It also comes equipped with the range of HDR certifications and it even has an ATSC 3.0 tuner so you're NextGenTV ready.

Sony Bravia 9 Mini-LED TV
One of the things that sets the Sony Bravia 9 apart from other Mini-LED TVs is its picture quality, which we noted as being "(almost) as good as an OLED" in our Bravia 9 review. This is owed largely to its serious color accuracy and high brightness metrics.
We measured its HDR performance at 2,713 nits, which is the ultimate sweet spot. Most HDR content is mastered between 1,000 and 4,000 nits, which means the Bravia 9 will net you the best possible detail when streaming or viewing HDR content.
Still, while it might be one of the best screens in terms of picture performance, its high asking price of $2,798 might make you wince. It's also not the best gaming display, given its high input latency of 17ms in tandem with just two HDMI 2.1 ports.
If you're ready to splash out on a truly special TV, the Bravia 9 is worth the cost. It's one of the brightest TVs we've tested this year, making it a great pick for folks who watch their fair share of daytime sports. While not as robust a gaming TV, you're still getting a pair of HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K gaming at 120Hz.

Samsung Q900D Mini-LED TV
Let's face it, 8K TVs are all but dead in 2025. One of the only companies still making them is Samsung and its QN900D from last year still remains the highest-rated 8K models we've ever tested. That's because, while totally expensive, it sports one of the best upscaling engines in the market.
In our review of the Samsung QN900D 8K TV, we gave it a perfect score. That's very rare, especially for a Mini-LED TV, which can have all kinds of issues from improper glare mitigation to poor off-axis viewing. The QN900D shows none of that, offering outstanding brightness in tandem with an incredible sound system.
The big setback for Samsung displays, not just the QN900D, is the absence of Dolby Vision. If you're willing to look past that and live with HDR10+ as your main source for all things HDR, the QN900D will serve as the ultimate viewing experience.
Last year's Samsung QN900D is a stellar 8K model. It's equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+, built on one of the most sophisticated 8K upscaling AI processors in the NQ8 Gen3. Plus, the QN900D even has a well-rounded speaker system with 3D surround sound that's made better with Samsung's Clear Dialogue that enhances audio for a richer, more immersive experience.

Every Wednesday, I dive into Amazon and scour page after page to find all of the retailer's best deals. Apple 13-Inch MacBook Air M4 Easily one of the best discounts I have seen all year. A chance to save $200 on our pick for the best overall laptop has to top the list this week. It's an all-time low price that makes the newest MacBook Air an even better recommendation for back-to-school our review Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Fan Speaking of new all-time low prices, this Shark misting and cooling fan has now reached an unprecedented low. We last tracked a 20% off sale, and now it's seeing a 33% discount to under $100 for the first time. Hisense 6,000-BTU Window Air Conditioner This isn't the best window air conditioner that we tested, but a rare 20% discount makes this Hisense unit a better buy. It's down to the lowest price of the year, just in time to provide extra cooling tech compared to a standalone fan like the Shark model higher up on the list. Amazon Basics Adjustable Tray Table Lap Desk Don't let the on-page list price of this lap desk fool you! I dug a little deeper into the pricing history and found that this normally sells for $70 — Amazon is just being coy when it comes to actually showing the full 66% discount. This is a new all-time low price for the retailer and an enticing back-to-school deal for those days when you just want to get work done on the couch or in bed. Best Choice Products 10-Foot Pop Up Canopy Tent This canopy tent will ensure you and your friends stay in the shade through upcoming Labor Day picnics or fall football tailgates. Amazon's price drop ensures you can save some serious cash with 38% off the going rate. The Wonderboom 4 serenades quite a few of CNN Underscored's editors, including me, and is a reliable option for poolside listening this summer. Read our review Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Coffee Maker One of the cheapest options my colleagues have tested, the Mr. Coffee 12-cup brewer is compact, simple to operate and yields a very competitive cup for less thanks to today's deal. It may only be 21% off, but it is down to the lowest price in several months as a result. Read our review Greenworks 80-Volt 21-Inch Push Electric Lawn Mower This is your one-click ticket to having a more well-kept lawn this summer. Report: Amazon to pay at least $20M a year in AI content deal with New York Times

In-depth Amazon coverage from the tech giant's hometown, including e-commerce, AWS, Amazon Prime, Alexa, logistics, devices, and more. The New York Times building in Manhattan, left, and Amazon headquarters in Seattle. (GeekWire File Photos / Kurt Schlosser) Amazon's deal to license some content from The New York Times for use on the tech giant's artificial intelligence platforms will cost at least $20 million annually, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. The Journal cited 'people familiar with the matter' in reporting the figure, which hadn't been publicly disclosed since the two companies announced their plans in May. The report said the yearly payment — as high as $25 million — amounts to nearly 1% of the Times's total 2024 revenue. The multi-year licensing agreement will bring Times editorial content 'to a variety of Amazon customer experiences,' the Times previously said. Content will include 'real-time display of summaries and short excerpts' of news articles and items from NYT Cooking (food and cooking) and The Athletic (sports). Amazon could also use Times original content in the Alexa software on its smart speakers and to train its proprietary AI models. The generative-AI focused licensing arrangement is a first for the Times. 'The [Amazon] deal is consistent with our long-held principle that high-quality journalism is worth paying for,' Meredith Kopit Levien, chief executive of the Times, previously said in a note to staff. The New York Times Co. filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against both OpenAI and its partner Microsoft in December 2023, accusing the tech companies of 'using The Times's content without payment to create products that substitute for The Times and steal audiences away from it.' The suit alleges that the companies wrongly used vast amounts of copyrighted material from the newspaper to train the large language models that power ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence models. A federal judge rejected parts of OpenAI and Microsoft's motion to dismiss the suit in April, writing that the Times' produced 'numerous' and 'widely publicized' examples of ChatGPT producing material from its articles. OpenAI has licensing deals with other publishers, including The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and NewsCorp.

Amazon Q2 earnings preview: AI bets, cloud growth, and tariff changes in the spotlight

In-depth Amazon coverage from the tech giant's hometown, including e-commerce, AWS, Amazon Prime, Alexa, logistics, devices, and more. Amazon reports earnings for the second quarter of 2025 on Thursday, July 31. (GeekWire File Photo / Todd Bishop) Amazon's infrastructure investments and cloud business will go under the microscope Thursday when the company reports second-quarter financial results — with Wall Street looking for signs that the tech giant's big bet on artificial intelligence is translating into growth. The company disappointed investors in May with a softer-than-expected forecast for Q2 operating profits, but analysts are more optimistic heading into the earnings report. Wedbush analysts cited 'encouraging US retail data, healthy advertiser sentiment, strong AWS demand, and continued efficiency gains across the business that should drive upside to margin expectations,' in a July 30 research report previewing Amazon's earnings. Here are the latest Wall Street estimates, according to Yahoo Finance: $162.1 billion in revenue, up 9.5% from a year ago Earnings of $1.33 per share, up 5.6% from the same period last year Analysts' projections would put Amazon near the midpoint of its prior revenue forecast and toward the high end of its projected operating income range. One reason for the optimism: The tariff outlook has improved since last quarter, contributing to a more bullish tone from analysts. For example, Morgan Stanley raised its 2026 earnings estimate for Amazon from $7.35 to $8.00, citing a 'more manageable' trade environment. Amazon still generates the largest portion of its net sales from online stores, which accounted for about $57 billion or 37% of total net sales in the first quarter of this year. The annual Prime Day sales event took place after the quarter ended, from July 8-11, so the results won't be included in the numbers, but Amazon executives are likely to provide a few additional details potentially indicating how the results will impact third-quarter earnings. The company makes most of its operating profits from Amazon Web Services — about $11.5 billion in the first quarter, or 63% of Amazon's total operating profits of $18.4 billion. AWS revenue rose 16.9% to $29.3 billion in Q1, taking the cloud unit's annual revenue run rate to a record $117 billion. The growth 'speaks to the durability of the business even through GPU-related supply constraints that are expected to ease in 2H,' Morgan Stanley analysts wrote, referring to shortages in the key chips for training and running AI models. Like other tech giants, Amazon is spending big to build out infrastructure for AI and cloud services. Morgan Stanley raised its 2025 and 2026 Amazon capital expense forecasts to $111 billion and $134 billion, respectively — up 6–7% from prior estimates — with the majority going toward technology and infrastructure. Other areas to watch: Amazon's Project Kuiper satellite internet venture, its partnership and investment in AI startup Anthropic, and whether the company signals further increases in capital spending as it races to build out infrastructure for the next phase of generative AI. Check back Thursday afternoon for full coverage.
