Southern California father critically injured after wrong-way driver crashes into him
A Southern California father was critically injured after a wrong-way driver crashed into him on the 405 Freeway.
On Feb. 11, Raymond Naba got into his car and began driving to work.
Just after 4 a.m., a male driver traveling northbound on the southbound lanes crashed head-on with Naba's vehicle in Sherman Oaks, just south of Ventura Boulevard.
A few minutes later, the driver crashed into three additional vehicles near Valley Vista Boulevard.
The suspect was killed on impact. Naba was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. He was left with several leg and arm fractures, a fractured pelvis, a broken hip socket, broken ribs, internal bleeding, bruised lungs and more.
'He's in a lot of pain right now from his injuries from his horrible accident,' said Andria Franco, the victim's sister.
Naba lives in Bakersfield and takes a three-hour daily commute from his home to provide for his wife and five children.
'His kids are devastated and holding up the best they can,' she said. 'We just told them that their dad is fighting for his family and that he's going to pull through this.'
Naba has since undergone life-saving procedures and was in critical condition before his family confirmed he was in stable condition on Saturday night.
Franco said their family is trying to stay strong knowing Naba has a long and difficult road to recovery ahead.
'Please continue to pray for my family because my brother will be suffering for a very long time,' Franco said. 'These are life-altering surgeries that he's had to go through.'
As Naba remains hospitalized, his wife, Maria, has taken off work to remain by his side and help him recover.
His loved ones are grateful that the prognosis from doctors is promising. They're also thankful to the good Samaritans who rushed to help Naba moments after the devastating crash.
'The civilians were such wonderful angels who came to the rescue,' Franco said. 'Because without them, time is crucial, and I just want to say I'm thankful that they made it in time to take him in that small timeframe and without their help, he wouldn't be where he is,'
The suspect driver killed in the crash was later identified as Eduardo 'Lalo' Membrano. He is survived by a wife and a 3-year-old child. The circumstances behind why Membrano was driving the wrong way remain under investigation.

'But I ask that you see him in his entirety, not only for his worst moment but for the man he always tried to be,' said Saiz's sister. Saiz addressed the court, saying, 'I pray that one day you will find it in your hearts to forgive me. You will forever be in my prayers.' Saiz took a plea deal prior to sentencing for second-degree murder with a firearm enhancement. The judge sentenced him to the maximum under his plea deal of 24.5 years in prison. Baby hit by stray bullet during shootout in Spring Hill
SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — A baby is recovering at the hospital after a stray bullet from an early morning shootout in the street tore through a Spring Hill home and struck the sleeping child in the head. According to the Spring Hill Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3000 block of Shandor Street in the Harvest Pointe subdivision shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, June 6. PREVIOUS: Baby injured after shot fired into Spring Hill home Authorities said they believe a sedan stopped next to a person out on Shandor Street. The occupants of the vehicle reportedly shot at the young man, who fired back. Door bell camera footage shows grainy figures in and around a car. You can hear the loud gunshots before the vehicle accelerates out of frame. Several of the roughly 15 rounds fired in the shootout penetrated a nearby home. Police said one of the bullets went through a wall and grazed the skull of a 1-year-old girl who was sleeping inside the house. Body camera footage shows the intense response as a large number of officers flooded the neighborhood to collect evidence and search for those involved in the shooting. 'Hopefully they find out who did this and they seek justice,' a mother who lives in the neighborhood told News 2. The woman didn't know the family of the child who was injured, but like many residents, she was shaken by the outburst of violence that rocked the normally quiet community. 'I'm feeling for the family and our community, and I hope that we get through this and we find out who these people are. It's just horrible what's happened here today,' she said. News 2 spoke with the family's pastor from Southview Church, Josh Clendenen, who said the little girl suffered a skull fracture and some bleeding on the brain, but she is stable. ⏩ 'As a church community, we were shocked to hear of the events that took place last night in Spring Hill, and to learn one of the babies of our church family was injured, was devastating. Good Samaritan steps up to help Grandview carpenter after trailer, tools stolen
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some good news, a good Samaritan who saw our story about a carpenter who said his trailer and equipment were stolen in Grandview, is stepping up to help. . Kyle Hudson now has a set of tools and lots of equipment thanks to a generous donation. 'Once it leaves here it's yours,' the good Samaritan said. 'I hope it helps.' Parkville loosening restrictions on short-term rentals ahead of World Cup 2026 'It's incredible,' Hudson said. 'It very much will.' The man who donated more than a dozen pieces of equipment wanted to remain anonymous, but felt pulled to help. He heard Hudson's story. Hudson said in May, a thief took off with his trailer, along with all his Milwaukee tools and work equipment inside. It was parked outside his home in Grandview and wasn't insured. He said about $10,000-worth of items — gone. 'The material and the equipment got stolen in the trailer,' Hudson said. A generous viewer saw our FOX4 story and reached out to help Hudson, a total stranger. We were there for the hand off of equipment, including saws, drills, even an air compressor. They were all items he owned. 'They were items that I've had it for several years and I love it.' The man said. 'Sell it or do whatever to get you some Milwaukee stuff again.' 'It means getting back to work sooner than later,' Hudson said, 'With everything here pretty much immediately. And that was pretty far out of sight.' The man donating this equipment related to Hudson's story. He said about ten years ago, a thief stole $25-30,000-worth of work equipment out of his trailer. He told me, that's why he wants to help. Hudson said since the trailer and everything inside was stolen, he's lost several grateful this equipment will help him get back to work. 'There are good people out there, it might not be your next-door neighbor but there are people that are going to help if you speak up.
