Man United Women's trio crowned European champions

Yahooa day ago
Manchester United trio Ella Toone, Grace Clinton and Maya Le Tissier are champions of Europe.
England completed a storybook victory over Spain with their second penalty shootout victory of the tournament.
The Lionesses drew the match 1-1 and after extra-time, beat the World champions 3-1 on penalties to win their second consecutive Women's Euros.
Former Red Devils played major role
Former Red Devils also played an important role as Spain's Ona Battle, who used to play for United, provided the cross for the Spaniards' opening goal.
Fellow former United striker, Alessia Russo also headed in England's equaliser in normal time.
Ella Toone wins second Euros
Toone scored a goal in the final of Euro 2022 and despite having a more significant role last time out, she did play her part.
She completed 87% of her passes during her 87 minutes on the pitch, before being replaced by Bethany Mead.
Toone also had one successful dribble attempt and had one effort on goal that was blocked.
She also had one key pass during the game and made one clearance and interception.
Toone finished the tournament with two goals and two assists and started in five consecutive matches after missing out in the opening match.
Grace Clinton had much less time on the pitch during the tournament but she did provide a 5 minute cameo in the final, as she entered the field of play after 115 minutes.
She did get some time on the pitch in five of England's six games, including all three knockout matches.
Maya Le Tissier failed to see a minute of action but being around a winning squad will do her the world of good. United's 23-year-old captain will undoubtedly play her part for England in many major tournaments to come.
Manchester United Women's X sent a congratulatory message to the United trio.
In addition, the male team posted a photo on X of some of the squad watching the final whilst on pre-season tour of the United States.
Whilst the trio will go and enjoy a well-earned holiday, United Women will be back in action soon in pre-season.
They have four matches in August including an opening fixture against Aston Villa this coming Sunday.
There are also exciting games against Liverpool, Real Betis and Manchester City on the horizon before the Women's Super league begins in September.

Real Madrid star instructs agent to contact Premier League giants over move

Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes looks to be on the way out of the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, or at least that would appear to be the plan. However there are doubts about a potential destination appearing for the Brazilian, but he does have a preferred option in mind. Rodrygo barely featured in the Club World Cup under Xabi Alonso, which after missing the last month of La Liga, looked like a clear sign that Los Blancos were looking to move on from Rodrygo. Although recent reports have cast doubt over Vinicius Junior's future at the club too, Los Blancos are open to an exit for the Brazil international. Rodrygo requests move to Liverpool According to indyKaila, Rodrygo has asked his agent, who is his father Eric Goes, to get in touch with Liverpool over the possibility of a move. He is keen on a switch to Anfield, and is the impetus behind the contacts, but the Goes family have been told to wait until their pursuit Alexander Isak comes to an end one way or another, at which point the Reds will reconsider their options and budget. Tottenham Hotspur story Recent weeks have also seen Tottenham Hotspur linked with a surprise move for Rodrygo, and Diario AS reported this week that Spurs have asked for permission to speak with the forward. However Santi Aouna has denied that a move is a possibility, with Rodrygo seemingly not interested in the switch. Where will Rodrygo end up? Rodrygo has been linked with a number of destinations, including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Bayern are on the verge of signing Luis Diaz, while Arsenal have just spent big on Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, and Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike and are pursuing Isak. On the other hand, PSG are already flush for options up front. Mercato: Parma makes an offer for Abdoulaye Ndiaye

Abdoulaye Ndiaye Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Ndiaye could be heading to Italy this summer, as Parma has submitted an offer to secure his services. Back at Troyes this summer after a successful loan spell with Stade Brestois 29, Abdoulaye Ndiaye made a name for himself in Ligue 1 with his defensive solidity. Despite his strong performances, his future at ESTAC remains uncertain. Indeed, Parma Calcio, currently competing in Italy's Serie B, is looking to build a competitive squad with the ambition of winning promotion to Serie A. The Senegalese defender is seen as a valuable addition to strengthen their back line. According to Sky Italia this Tuesday, the Italian club has already made an official bid for Ndiaye, although the details of the offer have yet to be disclosed.

The future of Artem Dovbyk remains uncertain as questions have been raised regarding the striker's place in Gasperini's team. In recent days, reports have come out linking Dovbyk with a move to Besiktas. According to Leggo, the Ukrainian has also caught the attention of several Premier League clubs. The newspaper adds that Roma are open to Dovbyk's sale for a sum of 35 million euros. With Dovbyk potentially out the door, Roma would focus on Rasmus Hojlund, writes the newspaper.
