Grandmaster Ding Liren and Kao, 15, play ‘super-crazy' chess game on Hong Kong tram
Hong Kong teenager Jamison Kao managed to draw a 'super-crazy' chess game with mainland Chinese grandmaster and former world champion Ding Liren at the weekend – but the city's No 1 still said he was a 'bit disappointed'.

Ding was visiting for Sunday's Harrow Hong Kong Scholastic Open Chess Tournament, which featured more than 100 schools.
And on Saturday, Ding took part in a 'simul event', in which he took on 12 players including Kao simultaneously, while riding a tram through the city.
Kao, 15, is a candidate master, having reached a rating of 2,200 or higher from the game's world governing body, the FIDE – a stepping stone towards higher titles such as international master and grandmaster.
'I never really expected to draw with him before I started,' Kao said. 'I thought there would be a decent fight but in the end I would lose.

'As the game progressed from a super-crazy position into the middle game, to a stable advantage for me, I was no longer wondering if I could draw, but rather how I could win.

Hong Kong boss' delight after Pereira penalty secures dramatic Asian Cup win over India
The nerveless Stefan Pereira scored a stoppage-time penalty to earn Hong Kong a dramatic 1-0 win over India at a cacophonous Kai Tak Stadium on Tuesday. Pereira had been on the pitch only five minutes when he hopped and skipped to the spot, then eased his strike beyond Vishal Kaith and in off the left post. Kai Tak erupted. Minutes later, most of the 42,570 crowd were noisily celebrating again. The result extended the city team's record-breaking unbeaten run to a 10th match, and left them with a healthy four points from their opening two AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Hong Kong were brimming with industry and bite all night. But just as it appeared they would pay for a lack of finesse, after going 320 minutes without a goal, Ngan Cheuk-pan located fellow substitute Michael Udebuluzor's forward run with a cute dink from midfield. Beaten by Udebuluzor to the ball, Kaith had nowhere to go and brought down the attacker. How the fervent home crowd would have been whipped up earlier had Manuel Bleda aimed fractionally lower from 20 yards after Juninho's third-minute lay-off.

Hong Kong v India: boos ring out for Westwood ahead of crucial Asian Cup clash
Ashley Westwood has doubled down on his belief in Manuel Bleda, picking the newly naturalised striker to the lead the line in his side's Asian Cup qualifier against India on Tuesday. The decision was met with a chorus of boos from the home fans, who called for the Englishman to be sacked after his side's 0-0 draw with Nepal last week. Westwood, though, has turned to the Spanish-born 34-year-old as he looks to break Hong Kong's struggles in front of goal. Also in the starting XI was Raphael Merkies, another player who has qualified through the residency rules that have so riled Westwood's counterpart Manolo Marquez. The India boss is also looking for goals, after his side's first game against Singapore ended goalless. He has recalled Sunil Chhetri to the squad, but the veteran striker only starts on the bench. Much will rely on the form of attacking midfielder Brandon Fernandes and forward Liston Colaco.
