Wamiqa Gabbi says she has ‘seen enough in life to not be affected' by the release fiasco of Bhool Chuk Maaf

Bhool Chuk Maaf, the Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer time loop comedy, was ironically stuck in its own time loop of release. The makers had initially decided to skip its theatrical release and get a digital release. However, multiplex chain PVRINOX had moved the court challenging its producers' decision. Subsequently, the film was released in theatres on May 23. (Also read: Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf will now release in theatres on May 23, say makers) Now, in an interaction with Just Too Filmy, Wamiqa opened up about whether she learned anything about the entire issue of the film and the weight of holding on to such a film. Wamiqa said, 'It did nothing to me. I have seen enough in life to not be affected by this! It was a very big moment for me. I could have been crushed. I could have gone through multiple feelings. But I did not, because I have seen enough.' She explained, 'I have been rejected too many times. I have seen things being promised and then not happening. I have put all my faith into projects where I thought that this would just change my career or change my life, and it did not. I understood that it is not in my control. In all of that, my growth was still happening. Slow and steady.' It began when Maddock Films initially stated that the movie would skip its theatrical release on May 9 and get a digital release on Prime Video on May 16 due to the recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation following Operation Sindoor. The multiplex chain PVRINOX had moved the court challenging its producers' decision to release it on Prime Video directly. PVRINOX Limited (PVRINOX), Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd. (Maddock), and Amazon MGM Studios have reached an understanding and now the movie will be released in theatres on May 23. Bhool Chuk Maaf revolved around a soon-to-be-married man who realises that he is stuck in a time loop and keeps reliving the day before his wedding. It is available to watch on Prime Video.

EXCLUSIVE: Aamir Khan to release of Sitaare Zameen Par on 1200 screens; Set for a platform release

Over the years, Aamir Khan has come up with the most unique ideas to release his feature films on the big screen. Come June 20, and the actor is all set to introduce another innovation. According to sources close to the development, Aamir Khan along with his national distribution PVRInox are all set to give a platform release to Sitaare Zameen Par, with the idea to increase the show on a real-time basis through the day of release, leading to the opening weekend. According to reliable sources, Sitaare Zameen Par will see an all-India release on about 1000 to 1500 screens on the opening day. 'The makers were exploring several release ideas, and the plan at the moment is to bring the film on approx. 1250 screens. Aamir Khan is confident of the film, and is well aware about the change in audience dynamics, which is the reason why he is looking at a longer game than a shorter one,' revealed a source close to the development. The source further informed that Aamir is confident to evoke a collective emotion among the cine-goers, in a packed auditorium. 'The release will be more concentrated towards the high-performing cinema halls in the respective areas, before slowly transitioning to the mass belts on demand. Given that the film isn't arriving on any OTT platform, Aamir and the team have enough time to adopt the strategy based on word of mouth,' the source added. Sitaare Zameen Par is scheduled to release only on the big screen on June 20, and Aamir is looking to aggressively promote the film post the release too, as he believes that the film has the legs to perform well at the box office in the long run. 'Internationally too, it's a strategic release, though the exact plans would be known closer to the release,' the source concluded. Interestingly, the platform release strategy has been used by Rajshri and YRF in the past on films like Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and Uunchai among others. Housefull 5 Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer aims to emerge a SUCCESS; Solid hold on Monday

The Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 is showing a fantastic hold in collections on Monday, as very early trends are indicating fourth-day business in the range of Rs 11.00 crore to Rs 12.00 crore, taking the four-day total in the vicinity of Rs 90 crore. It's a very good hold for Houseful 5, coming off a near Rs 80 crore weekend, and these collections put the film in the race to emerge a success story at the box office in India. The national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – are headed to collect in the range of Rs 5.00 crore nett, contributing about 47 percent to the total business. The ratio of national chains in dropping on a day-to-day basis for Housefull 5, as the mass belts are showing better jumps and holds in the business. The Akshay Kumar -led comic caper clocked Rs 10.65 crore in the chains on Monday, followed by a jump to Rs 13.60 crore on Saturday (Bakri Eid), and a nominal dip to Rs 13.15 crore on Sunday. It's a drop of about 53 percent in the national chains, but the all India drop should be in the vicinity of 47 percent, as the non-national chains and single screens are holding better in the morning and noon shows. The film will enter the Rs 100 crore club on the 5th day, and then begin its journey towards the Rs 200 crore club in India. The hold in collections on Monday put the film in a strong spot, and it's just about recording a normal trend from hereon to sail past the finish line. The collections are clean, devoid of any external help and that's an important thing to be pointed out in the era, where box office collections are largely manufactured by many filmmakers. These are still estimates based on the early trends and the actuals towards morning could be higher depending on the final figures of national chains and the single screens. Here's a look at the day wise box office collection of Housefull 5 Friday: Rs 22.00 crore Saturday: Rs 28.50 crore Sunday: Rs 29.25 crore Monday: Rs 11.50 crore (Expected) Total: Rs 91.25 crore Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!
