Community supports Santaquin family that lost father and son days apart
A Santiquin wife and mother says she wants their story to be one of love, not tragedy.
Jenn Suiter was married to her husband for 25 years and was 'madly in love' with him.
He was killed in a crash on I-15 in Payson just 10 days after the couple buried their son, who died by suicide.
'We are devastated, and there will always be a hole in my heart — but I will live for Christopher,' she said.
Chris Suiter, 50, was killed when 19-year-old Riley Durst, of Draper, jumped the median cable on I-15 in Payson from the northbound lanes, entering southbound traffic. Durst and Chris Suiter both died on impact.
'I even named my company True Love Skin Care because (it was) inspired by our love,' Jenn Suiter said.
Her son, Brian Suiter, suffered a traumatic brain injury after he broke his neck following a four-wheeling accident, which Jenn Suiter believes is the reason for his suicide.
'Traumatic brain injuries alter your brain in ways that we don't even understand. And when he took his life, I really just believed that it was just a symptom of his brain not working,' she said.
Jenn Suiter said in a video statement that the world is filled with love and angels, and angels from both Earth and heaven have supported their family during these challenging times.
'If you knew two things about us, we would always say, 'Never give up, never surrender.' And my son was known for saying, 'Let's go,'' she said.
In addition to many donations to a GoFundMe* account to help raise funds for funeral expenses, community members are putting on a benefit concert on June 24 in Payson.

Frohn Township home suffers major damage after fire
Jun. 2—BEMIDJI — A house in Frohn Township has suffered extensive damage after a fire broke out on Saturday morning in Bemidji. According to a release from Bemidji Fire Chief Justin Sherwood, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire along Martin Lane SE in Frohn Township. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a single-story house with heavy smoke and flames visible from the roof and rear of the home, the release said. A nearby vehicle and garage were also on fire. Initial crews pulled a 2 1/2-inch pre-connected attack line and started a transitional attack at the back of the home. As more crews arrived on scene, additional lines were placed in service and aided in the extinguishment of the fires. A total of 24 firefighters and eight pieces of equipment were on the scene for approximately three hours. The home and its contents suffered extensive damage. No injuries have been reported. The fire is currently under investigation, but it appears to have been accidental, the release said. The Bemidji Ambulance Service, Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office, American Red Cross, and Beltrami Electric assisted the Bemidji Fire Department at the scene. Maitland woman wants to thank stranger who rescued her, dog from burning home
One of the owners of a Maitland home is looking for the man who helped get her and her dog out of their burning home after an explosion Sunday morning. The fire actually caught two homes on fire. The homeowners just happen to be the restaurant owners of Maxine's On Shine in downtown Orlando. Unfortunately, Maxine says she lost a lot of restaurant memorabilia and other things because her workroom suffered the most damage. Now that the ashes have settled, she wants to find the man who made sure she got out safely. It was a startling start to Maxine Earhart's Sunday morning. 'There was like a bashing like really loud, and my dog started barking, I jumped up, ran down the hallway, put on my bathrobe, and I could hear a man say is anyone in there,' said Earhart. A neighbor shared a video showing big flames and dark smoke between Maxine's house and her neighbors. 'I run outside, and I see 11foot flames and 50 foot billows of black smoke,' said Earhart. Earhart says she could feel the heat from the fire on her face after stepping outside. She noticed it hadn't reached her house yet, so she ran back inside to try to save what she could. 'I ran down my hallway to get a go back, yes I have a go bag cause I'm ready for hurricane season, I've lived in Florida a long time,' said Earhart. Right behind her, the man she never met before who was adamant about making sure she and her dog got out okay. 'He was like right on me, ma'am, you need to get out of the house. And I was like looking him and I remember saying I just one minute, I just need one minute,' said Earhart. In those final moments, he helped her carry out her mom's old jewelry box, then Earhart says he disappeared. Now, she wants to find him and thank him. 'I would tell him, please come to the restaurant, I want to buy you dinner,' said Earhart. Earhart says she's so optimistic because that's her outlook on life. She's happy no one got hurt. She's alive. Her dog's alive. They're planning a dinner to thank the firefighters in the coming days. Everything inside the house will have to be replaced.
