🚨 It's official, Hansi Flick extends his contract with FC Barcelona
What had been an open secret has been confirmed. Hansi Flick will continue to manage FC Barcelona for one more season than initially stipulated in his contract. On Wednesday, the club confirmed the extension of the German coach's contract until 2027.
A renewal that had been expected for over ten days. The victory in El Clásico of LALIGA against Real Madrid and the achievement of three titles in the current season have been decisive for a contract extension that satisfies all parties.

But not only the achievements of the current season have been key to the renewal. The playing identity that the German coach has achieved, as well as the growth of several young talents of the club, have played a decisive role in securing the German's stay on the Barça bench.
There's Hansi Flick in Barcelona for a while longer.

Canada's Tajon Buchanan joins Villarreal in permanent transfer from Inter
Tajon Buchanan has joined Villarreal in a permanent move from Inter. The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the Spanish club after spending the second half of 2024-25 on loan, scoring once in 13 appearances. Buchanan started only once for Inter in the first half of last season after suffering a broken leg during a Canada training session in July. He joined Villarreal on loan in January, making four starts in the second half of last term and finishing the campaign strongly with a late winner at La Liga champions Barcelona — his only goal for the club — in the penultimate game of the season and an assist against Sevilla on the final day. El Villarreal y el @Inter han alcanzado un acuerdo de traspaso por Tajon Buchanan, que firma con la entidad amarilla hasta el año 2030. Benvingut, Tajon 💛! — Villarreal CF (@VillarrealCF) July 29, 2025 Buchanan signed for Inter from Club Brugge in a deal worth an initial €7million (£6m; $7.7m) plus add-ons in January 2024 but did not start a game for the Italian club that season, featuring 10 times as a substitute as they won the Serie A title. Buchanan, who was the first ever Canadian to play in Italy's top flight, previously played 67 times for Club Brugge after arriving in January 2022. The versatile wide player has made 51 appearances for the Canada men's national team, including starting all three of their group games at the 2022 World Cup. ()

🎥 Barcelona reach major milestone with new turf laid at Camp Nou
Barcelona have reached a major milestone in their return to Camp Nou with the pitch being laid on Tuesday. A clip on social media shows the grass being put down at the revamped stadium although as to when the team will start playing at the iconic ground is still unknown. Club officials and local authorities continue to manage the delayed timeline carefully. While Barcelona had initially aimed to resume matches at Camp Nou by August—specifically for the Joan Gamper Trophy on 10 August—that date has been officially ruled out due to pending construction permits, prompting the club to relocate the prestige match to their Johan Cruyff Stadium. In recent days, a technical and operational trial was conducted at the stadium. On 28 July, the club carried out extensive tests focusing on systems critical to match-day logistics—lighting, evacuation routes, fire detection, signage and accessibility in the South stand and VIP areas. Barcelona are targeting a partial reopening on 14 September, capped at around 60% capacity, equating to approximately 62,000 seats, for a La Liga match against Valencia. Despite these preparations, observers note continued delays across the broader redevelopment. While the pitch is ready and key operational elements are being tested, the third tier of seating and the stadium's roof remain under construction and are now postponed until summer 2026, with full completion expected in mid‑2026. Once fully complete, the upgraded stadium will hold around 105,000 spectators, making it the largest in Europe. The renovation includes improved VIP facilities, museum space, and modern accessibility features—all part of the ambitious €1.5 billion Espai Barça project aimed at boosting matchday revenue and club sustainability. 📸 JOSEP LAGO - AFP or licensors
