The Brief Scottsdale Police have announced the arrest of Julian Nixon. Nixon is accused of unlawful recording and voyeurism. The suspect is accused of secretly recording women during sex. EDITOR'S NOTE: Scottsdale Police initially said their Special Victims Unit found "over 400 videos related to [Julian Nixon] having sexual relations with several females," but a later statement corrected the number to over 100. The original article, with the correction, continues below. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Scottsdale Police say they have made an arrest in a case that involved allegations of women being secretly recorded during intimate moments. What we know Court documents related to the case identified the suspect as 43-year-old Julian Burne Nixon. Nixon was arrested on July 30. Dig deeper Per court documents, Scottsdale Police received a report on April 17 of an unlawful recording that happened at Nixon's home. The person who reported the incident was identified as a victim. "The victim reported that her now ex-boyfriend, (the suspect), had three Apple iPhone boxes set up pointing towards the suspect's bed in his one-bedroom apartment," read a portion of the documents. Investigators note that Nixon's ex-girlfriend, while giving a description of the boxes and where they were located in the bedroom, was not able to look into the phones to discover the contents inside. "After seeing the phone, she confronted Julian via text message, who admitted to secretly recording them having sex," read a portion of a statement released by Scottsdale Police. "He stated he records just in case a female attempts to say she was sexually assaulted, or something was done without her consent. [Nixon] insisted the recordings were deleted." On May 7, court documents state that detectives executed a search warrant for Nixon's electronics at his apartment. "During that contact with the suspect, post-Miranda Rights, the suspect admitted to surreptitiously recording an unknown number of women he met on dating application platforms while he completed sexual acts with him," investigators wrote. "Per the suspect, his reason for the recordings was to protect himself if the women claimed any abuse, such as rape." Officials said Nixon did not wish to show detectives the devices and the videos at first, saying he will "get rid of them." "When he was advised that it was a crime to record those women unlawfully and have possession of them, the suspect [admitted] knowing what he did was wrong," court documents state. Police said it was later discovered that Nixon "had videos dating back to potential victims from 2016-2025." "Under his Apple Photos album labeled "alfredcamera," it had 110 videos that showed a long-standing activity video devices being surreptitiously set up in multiple locations within the suspect's residence (living room and bedroom)," investigators wrote. Investigators said multiple women who did not know one another were identified, and four of them said they "met the suspect on dating applications or group meet ups for singles." They also say two women have not been identified. What Nixon Said To Police According to investigators, Nixon admitted during an interview to recording women, but said he didn't make the recording for sexual pleasure, and that the videos were deleted. Parents of students speak out about Andrew McGann's 'eerie' behavior following murder arrest
WEST FORK, Ark. (KFOR) — 28-year-old Andrew McGann went to college in Oklahoma, getting his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. News 4 spoke with parents from a school where he worked in Texas, who describe his behavior with students as 'eerie.' Communities across Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas are shaken to the core after the arrest of the 28-year-old man from Springdale, AR. 'It shook me…like that's McGann, that's the guy that my kid was around every week at school,' said Lindsay Polyak, parent of a student who attended Donald Elementary in Flower Mound, TX. McGann was arrested while getting a haircut at an Arkansas salon. Police say he's allegedly behind the killings of the Arkansas married couple, Clinton (43) and Cristen (41) Blink, at Devil's Den State Park over the weekend. RELATED: Former Oklahoma teacher charged with murder in AR killings Tyler Yeakley, an Arkansas native who frequents the park, said, 'It definitely lets you know the craziest things can happen any day out of nowhere, especially in Arkansas.' You may be wondering how McGann has ties to Oklahoma. Records show he graduated from OSU Tulsa in the Spring semester of 2022 and became a teacher at Donald Elementary in Flower Mound, Texas, that fall, for the 2022-2023 school year. He then taught for Broken Arrow Public Schools and Sand Springs before moving to Arkansas. Polyak described McGann as a 'sick pervert.' Polyak and another parent, Megan, who asked News 4 to conceal her last name, tell us McGann's behavior was unusual. 'I heard from my son that there were girls that Mr. McGann would tickle,' Polyak said. Polyak added, 'I started hearing other things from parents whose kids were in his classroom full time, alleging that during lunch time, when all the kids went to the cafeteria, he would invite special girls to stay back and to have lunch with him in his classroom.' RELATED: Devil's Den double homicide suspect booked into Washington County Jail: What we know about his arrest Megan said parents reported McGann's behavior to Lewisville ISD and Donald Elementary staff. 'Everything just kind of got swept under the rug,' Megan said. Parents then learned McGann was placed on administrative leave before submitting his resignation letter to staff in the middle of the 2022-2023 school year. Polyak said, 'If he could have just been terminated by our district, that would have been on his record, that would have raised suspicions and questions by the next districts that he went to. But it wasn't.' McGann was set to teach at a school in Arkansas this fall, but hadn't made contact with any parents or students. McGann now faces two counts of Capital Murder charges.
