Minors allegedly shoot each other in south Sacramento
(FOX40.COM) — Two minors were hospitalized on Monday after allegedly shooting each other, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said the shooting happened on 7120 East Parkway.
SCSO said the shooting was a result of a possible shoe deal gone wrong.
The two male juveniles were taken to the hospital.
Deputies confirm that both minors were initially taken for non-life-threatening injuries, however, one of the juveniles is now in critical condition since arriving at the hospital.

KAYSVILLE, Utah () — The friends and coworkers of the due to brain cancer are remembering him and the dedication he brought to his job. Sergeant Jared Jensen was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer in September 2024, and Kaysville Police Department that he passed away on Tuesday. He was recognized or awarded seven times during his tenure as a police officer, and he survived a near-deadly shooting in the line of duty. 'Sergeant Jensen was very passionate about his job,' a fellow Kaysville Police officer told 'He served with so much dedication, integrity, and honor. He definitely left a long-lasting impact on those he served and those he served with.' The officer said that Sgt. Jensen was with Kaysville Police for six years. 'He faced cancer with the same courage he showed time he put the uniform on every single day. He fought long and hard until the very end with this cancer,' the officer said. Sgt. Jensen's best friend, Sergeant Jake Fowers with Clinton City Police, told that they graduated from the academy together in 2012. 'He really loved the youth of the community,' Fowers said. 'He was constantly working with them. He ran the K-9 when he was here at Clinton City, me and him ran them together. He always volunteered to go to the schools to show the kids the dogs, 'cause everybody loves the dogs, so he definitely had an impact. He was a larger-than-life person.' Sgt. Jensen worked with Clinton City Police Department starting in 2012, then with the Sunset Police Department, and as a police academy instructor before joining the Kaysville Police Department. He also was a member of the U.S. Marshal's Service Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (VFAST). Fowers told that Sgt. Jensen was battling cancer for about 10 months. Jensen had told him that he was having 'weird' headaches, so he was going for a CT scan, and that is when they discovered the mass that turned out to be cancer. Sgt. Jensen is survived by his wife and their two young children. ‘We just want to know that she's safe' — Mother of missing West Jordan teen speaks out
WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The mother of the has spoken out about her worries about her daughter's disappearance. Sophia Rojas, 15, was last seen on June 3, and she has had no contact with her friends or family since, according to West Jordan police. She was last seen wearing a grey suit and pants. Police believe that she may be with an adult, and she may be lying about her age. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Family, police seeking information on missing 15-year-old girl from West Jordan Her mother, Porscha Chavez, spoke to about her daughter's disappearance. 'She took off in the middle of the night, and I haven't heard from her or seen her since,' she said. Chavez told that Sophia left a note, but that the first sentence of the note didn't sound like her. The note said, 'Don't jump into getting the police involved.' The rest of the note said that she had a place to stay, not to worry about her, and not to be mad, that she would be back eventually. Chavez believes that she is with an adult because she left in the middle of the night on a school night and none of her usual circle of friends have heard from her. Sophia also has a history of talking to adults online and lying about her age, Chavez said. Chavez took Sophia's phone away in February for that reason. 'I do feel like she's possibly been groomed. I think that she feels like it's not gonna happen to her, and that she'll be okay, and she has the teenager mindset of nothing's gonna happen to her and she knows everything and she's fine,' she said. Chavez told that she is able to see that Sophia has a different phone signed into her Google account, and Chavez does not know where that phone came from. She is able to see that it is logged in, but she cannot see its location. 'My concerns are that she's with an adult, who may be feeding things to her, and possibly, now that this is getting awareness and stuff, that they may not let her go if she wants to go home,' Chavez said. She also told that she feels like Sophia's case is not getting the attention it deserves because her daughter is not white. Chavez shared what she wants Sophia to hear from her. 'Come home,' she said. 'We just want to know that she's safe, and we want her back home safely.' Man arrested for drunk driving, Stafford deputies say
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. () — Deputies said a man was arrested for drunk driving. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said on June 10 at around 10:45 p.m., deputies were at the intersection of Warrenton Road and Cambridge Street waiting for a red light. While they were waiting in a clearly marked cruiser, a Kia ran the red light. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Kia. The 51-year-old man showed signs of intoxication, SCSO said. At least one person hurt in crash on Fairfax County Parkway The deputy asked the driver how much he had drunk, and he said they had two beers. He then admitted to having four beers, SCSO said. Deputies detained the driver and found cans of empty beer in their car. He was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between 0.15 and 0.2, drinking while driving and failure to obey a traffic light.
