Prince Andrew's ex Lady Victoria Hervey prompts fury with 'sick' reaction to Virginia Giuffre's death

Daily Record26-04-2025

Lady Victoria Hervey, an ex-girlfriend of Prince Andrew , has sparked backlash with her comments following the death of Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre, who had accused the disgraced financier Jeffery Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, ended her own life last Thursday in Australia, where she had been living for the past few years. In response to the news breaking overnight, Victoria shared a link to an article with an added comment: "When lies catch up with you there's no way out." Her statement provoked a storm of fury on social media, with fans branding Victoria 'no lady' and condemning the post as 'sick. ' One person expressed their shock by commenting: "Wow she's a cold hearted woman". Following the significant online uproar triggered by her initial post, Lady Victoria took to Instagram two hours later with a follow-up message, reports the Mirror . "I have taken the decision to pause my posts on the topic of Virginia Giuffre at this time," she said. "Irrespective of circumstances, suicide in anyone at any time is tragic and in a young mother who has children even more." Previously, Lady Victoria has been outspoken regarding Giuffre, whom she has called a 'fantasist' and a 'liar'. When the Prince Andrew accuser mentioned she was 'fighting for her life' after a car crash earlier this month, Lady Victoria dubbed Giuffre "the Queen of the fake photo". Lady Victoria briefly dated Prince Andrew back in 1999. Earlier this month, 41-year-old Ms Giuffre posted a distressing photo on Instagram of herself in a hospital bed, claiming she had been involved in a collision with a bus travelling at 110km and was suffering from kidney failure. In response, Lady Hervey shared a picture of herself grinning, captioned: "What is Karma." The post was set to the tune of Europe's 1986 hit 'The Final Countdown', seemingly mocking Giuffre's assertion that she only had days left to live. Last night, a statement was released by Giuffre's family confirming that she had tragically taken her own life, describing her as a "warrior in the fight against sexual abuse". In their statement, the family said: "Giuffre lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. "She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure. The light of her life were her children Christian, Noah, and Emily. "It was when she held her newborn daughter in her arms that Virginia realised she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others. "There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today with the passing of our sweet Virginia. She was heroic and will always be remembered for her incredible courage and loving spirit. In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight . We know that she is with the angels." Shelby Brady, a media liaison officer for the Western Australia Police Force, confirmed to PEOPLE that emergency services were called to a residence in Neergabby where they found an unresponsive 41-year-old woman. Despite attempts at emergency first-aid, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Major Crime detectives are investigating the incident, but according to authorities, "early indications is the death is not suspicious". Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew in New York in 2021, alleging that he forced her to have sex with him three times between 1999 and 2002 in London, New York and on a private Caribbean island owned by Epstein . They reached an out-of-court settlement in February 2022, but the amount was not disclosed. Prince Andrew has denied all claims against him. The settlement included a statement in which he expressed regret for his association with Epstein but contained no admission of liability.

Meghan Markle shrugs off twerking backlash with carefree beach snap

Meghan Markle has shared a carefree beach snap after she was accused of 'over-sharing' in a 'cringeworthy' video of her twerking to celebrate her daughter's birthday Meghan Markle has brushed off backlash surrounding her "cringeworthy" twerking video with a carefree beach snap. The Duchess of Sussex spoke of 'running into the weekend' as she frolicked in the water in her most recent Instagram post on her As Ever account. ‌ The 43-year-old was pictured prancing in the water on a sunny beach, sporting a flowing white sundress as she revealed her excitement 'for all the good to come'. ‌ Just hours earlier, she had shared a series of heartwarming photos featuring herself, Prince Harry, and their children - six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet - during a memorable family trip to Disneyland. Sharing the montage with her 3.7million followers, the mother-of-two described their two-day visit as "pure joy" and expressed gratitude to the park for the special experience. She also highlighted the fun-filled moments the family enjoyed, from thrilling rides to indulging in delicious treats. Offering a glimpse into their life in the U.S., she included a sweet photo of Archie and Lilibet meeting Elsa from Frozen for the first time, along with a touching shot of Prince Harry and Lilibet sharing a ride together. This latest social media update follows an earlier post that raised eyebrows - a lighthearted but awkward video of her and Prince Harry dancing in a hospital room in an effort to induce Lilibet's birth. ‌ The candid video, which runs for more than a minute, also features Harry, who is seen dancing in and out of the frame. He is beckoned in by Meghan as the pair dance together, with the duke appearing at the end with the hood of his grey hoodie up as he continues his dance moves. Meghan is wearing a black maternity dress and cradles her large bump as she dances, as well as lifting her skirt above her knees, raising her hands in the air and wiggling low with her hands on her hips and legs. ‌ The release of the footage is one of the more unusual ways a member of the royal family has marked a royal birthday. Earlier, the duchess posted never-before-seen intimate family photos of 'Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer' Lili. Meghan shared a black-and-white snap of herself cuddling the princess, who was sat on her lap, with the pair both sporting windswept hair, seemingly on a boat. Another image showed Meghan tenderly cradling newborn Lili as she enjoyed skin-to-skin time with the new addition to her family in 2021. In a later post, she described how Lili's relationship with Harry was 'the sweetest bond to watch unfold'.

More info Matt Peacock, the noughties playboy known for dating Katie Price and marrying Jodie Marsh, is barely recognisable these days. The former heartthrob, who was a fixture in the tabloids two decades ago, has traded his glamorous lifestyle for a quieter family life. Now 42, Matt has undergone quite the transformation, swapping his signature bleach blonde locks for a more natural brunette look. He's still modelling, but his life off-camera is centred around his wife Rachael, whom he married in 2016, and their daughter Lily, born in 2018. A glance at Matt's Instagram reveals a mix of fitness shots, shirtless poses, and sweet family photos featuring his daughter and their two dogs. Despite stepping away from the limelight, Matt and Rachael maintain connections with their celebrity friends. He even posted pictures from Ryan's 40th birthday celebrations last June. Matt's modelling career kicked off when he signed with Boss Model Management, landing several high-profile campaigns, reports the Mirror. He's currently represented by Model Team. Matt and Katie Price began dating shortly after she welcomed her first son Harvey with ex Dwight Yorke in 2002. (Image: Phil Harris) (Image: @mattpeacock27/Instagram) The then 24 year old star was spotted by 18 year old Matt at a car show where she was striking poses as a model. The two soon entered into a whirlwind romance and even did a joint interview for a high-profile magazine. However, their relationship was fleeting, lasting merely two months before coming to an end following a significant dispute. According to friends, Matt found it tough to cope with the limelight during their time together. Matt's subsequent entanglement was his marriage to Katie's rival Jodie Marsh, tying the knot on the reality TV spectacle Totally Jodie Marsh: Who'll Take Jodie Marsh Up The Aisle? in 2007. Their wedding took place amidst the buzz of Brentwood's Sugar Hut nightclub, but the union was short-lived, with Matt confessing later that Jodie seemed more interested in his past liaison with Katie rather than him. Matt later found himself with glamour model Rhian Sugden, their romance spanning a year before they called it quits. Rhian later made headlines again due to a text message scandal involving TV star Vernon Kay in 2010. Come 2020, Matt shared his personal fears about potentially losing his career because of hair loss. Speaking to The Manchester Evening News, he confessed: "Losing my hair had been knocking my confidence for a few years and it was really affecting my day-to-day life. "I felt so much pressure to look good and keep the modelling jobs coming in to pay my bills and keep a roof over my family's head. Social media can be a big problem too, with such an expectation of perfection. We live in such an image-obsessed world. I went for a hair transplant and it has truly changed my life."

POLL: Was Meghan right to share twerking video?

Meghan Markle's twerking-in-labour video has everyone talking - from royal fans to possibly even King Charles himself. Was it a fun, unfiltered mum moment or a royally awkward overshare? Let us know! To celebrate Princess Lilibet's 4th birthday, Meghan posted a video that caught pretty much everyone off guard. It showed her, heavily pregnant, in a hospital room with Prince Harry, dancing and twerking to the song Baby Momma by Starrkeisha. Whether you found it hilarious, relatable, or a bit odd, it definitely got people talking. Some fans loved seeing this personal, human moment - but others weren't so keen. Royal commentator Jennie Bond called it 'utterly bizarre' and says King Charles would've been 'horrified' by it. ‌ But what do you think? Was Meghan just enjoying the moment and sharing a joyful memory? Or did she cross a line by going so public with something so private - and what is clearly a little unconventional for a duchess? Scroll down to take our poll. ‌ Meghan shared the clip saying: "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do!" Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond was left flabbergasted, telling the Mirror: "The hours before you give birth are some of the most personal, intimate and private in the lives of any couple. "And women are perfectly entitled to do whatever they feel like to get through the waiting, and the pain. Giving birth is a serious business, and anything to lighten the mood is welcome. "However - to share those scenes with the world is utterly bizarre and, in my view, takes away all the magic of the moment. I cannot imagine why she chose to release it. Maybe show it one day to your nearest and dearest— but to anyone and everyone who wants to click on it? Was Meghan right to share twerking video? Take our poll below. If you can't see it, click here ‌ "I can hear the voice of the late Queen's former private secretary, Lord Charteris, repeating the comments he once made about Fergie: 'Vulgar, vulgar, vulgar'. ‌ "If the King has watched it, which I doubt, though he can't have missed the headlines I'm sure he would be horrified. Royalty has to carry with it some measure of dignity." Since sharing the clip many have questioned why she posted it, given the couple's supposed desire for privacy. And Jennie added: "I'm glad they were so happy before the birth, I'm glad Harry was there to support his wife in every way, I'm delighted to hear that he's such a great dad. But they really can't have it both ways. "They can't demand privacy and be so coy about sharing images of their children and then show us all these intensely intimate scenes. And she cannot expect to be treated as if she's royal whilst behaving like a click-hungry social media influencer. ‌ "Having said all that, there's no doubt that videos like this connect in a very real way to young people. And perhaps that's what Meghan is trying to do. My own daughter thought the video humanised both Meghan and Harry and was light-hearted and hugely relatable. It reminded her of her own pregnancies and labour and she thought it was rather charming. In many ways, I agree with her. I just don't think it sits happily with trying to cling to the vestiges of being 'royal'." Get Royal Family updates straight to your WhatsApp!
