Derek McInnes' Kilmarnock squad message ahead of Hearts move

Killie and Hearts actually meet on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season on Sunday and it has been agreed McInnes will not take charge of the Ayrshire men because of the awkward situation it would present.
That means the defeat to Motherwell on Wednesday night was his last game as Kilmarnock manager and he was back in on Thursday to say his goodbyes.
Youngster David Watson was given his chance in the first-team by the former Aberdeen boss and has nothing but admiration for him. And he detailed how that last meeting between McInnes and his players went.

He said: 'He was in this morning (Thursday), came and spoke to us and wished us all the best and that was it. Nothing but respect for the guy, he gave me my first start in SPFL and he's took us from the Championship to playing in Copenhagen, so I wish him all the best. He's been absolutely brilliant for us.
'He's given me my first start in SPFL, he's kind of kick started my career into what it's been so far and I'm nearly reaching my 100 game mark and most of them have been under him, so I'm nothing but thankful for him. Everybody liked him, we all got along good, we had a great togetherness within the staff and the players, but that's football, we just need to move on now and we're looking ahead to the game on Sunday.

Cristiano Ronaldo begs for Lamine Yamal privacy as Barcelona prodigy feels the heat over reaction to trophy lift

Spain star Yamal was filmed walking away from Portugal's trophy lift but CR7 wants narratives to be quashed Pleading Cristiano Ronaldo has begged for Lamine Yamal to be spared the uncompromising glare which has followed him only minutes after the prodigy was derided on social media. Spain star Yamal was filmed walking away from Portugal 's trophy lift and appeared not to be clapping with the rest of his team-mates before making a sharp bee line for the tunnel inside Munich's Allianz Arena. ‌ But the 40-year-old – who netted the equaliser to make it 2-2 and secure a penalty shoot-out – has emotionally pleaded for the collective lens to go away and allow a talent he regards as generational to truly develop. ‌ The 17-year-old Barcelona superstar wasn't at his sizzling best in the Nations League Final as Ronaldo and Portugal survived some early blows before they came on strong. Ronaldo, speaking after his third international title win with Portugal in Munich, said: 'Lamine is going to win a lot of collective and individual titles. He's a phenomenon. "He'll have a long career and he's going to win a lot of Nations Leagues. "He's 17… Please, leave him alone. I have to ask you to let him be. He has to be calm' You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Rangers and Celtic pages, and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season. Things that will be new for Wrexham in the Championship

Phil Parkinson's men finished runners-up in League One this term, securing an historic third successive promotion. The Reds have climbed from the National League to the second tier where they will ply their trade for the first time in 43 years. One positive in going up to the division one below the Premier League is that Wrexham will enter the FA Cup at the third round stage. For a club that has reached the quarter-finals three times in their history, it's about time Wrexham fans experienced another run on the road to Wembley. During their last stint in the old Second Division, which lasted four seasons, Wrexham twice reached the fifth round and they never lost a third round tie. One of the highlights was a 3-1 win at Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in 1982. Forest were European Cup champions at the time but Dixie McNeil, Mick Vinter and Steve Dowman shut the legendary manager up before the Reds bowed out 2-1 to Chelsea when the fourth round tie was decided following a second replay, and Mel Sutton's side were relegated back to Division Three at the end of that 1981-82 season. During the 15-year non-league nightmare, Wrexham came in at the fourth qualifying round stage and had to win three games just to stand a chance of receiving a plum third round tie against a Premier League side, while two victories were required to reach that stage since returning to the EFL with the Reds entering in round one. But the Reds will definitely be in the hat for the third round draw next season. That's a huge boost and so is the fact that there will be no EFL Trophy distractions, with Championship teams not involved in the competition where Parkinson's men reached the semi-finals this season, playing three group-stage games and four knockout ties. But Wrexham will play more midweek league games in the second tier because of international weekend breaks. There will be no league matches on the weekends of September 6, October 11 and November 15 this year, and March 28, 2026. Although Wrexham got used to playing at big stadiums this season in League One, 20 and 30,000 capacities are the norm in the Championship. The biggest attendance could be away at Sheffield Wednesday whose Hillsborough capacity is a whopping 39,732! With the temporary stand at The Racecourse being taken down this summer and work starting on the new Kop, Wrexham will have the smallest capacity in the division at just over 10,000. The next lowest is Oxford United's Kassam Stadium which has room for 12,500 fans. Parkinson will be able to name nine substitutes next term - two more than he could select in League One and Two, and up from five replacements in the National League. It's been an amazing journey since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became co-chairmen and while the step-up to the Championship will be the biggest experienced so far, Parkinson, his staff and players are there on merit and will relish the challenge ahead.

Snoop Dogg plans to open burger truck at iconic UK football stadium - and even wants to serve fans himself

Snoop Dogg plans to open a burger truck at an iconic UK football stadium. American rapper, 53, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has taken an interest in Celtic Park - the home of Scottish Premiership team Celtic, in the Parkhead area of Glasgow. World away from his California roots - Snoop has spoken in the past of his love for the team saying he was inspired by Ryan Reynolds' transformation of Wrexham. He has told The Sunday Mail: 'I would love to bring a pop-up burger [van] to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good. 'It's got to be Celtic Park, man. The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself.' He cheekily added: 'Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss.' He also claims to have spoken to famous chef Gordon Ramsay about the possible business opportunity. Last October Snoop revealed his plans to invest in Celtic, taking inspiration from Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood duo took over Welsh side Wrexham for just short of £2million in November 2020, when they were in the fifth tier of English football and had been for nearly 15 years. But they earned promotion to League Two two seasons later in winning the National League, and they secured a consecutive promotion the year after to take their spots in League One. And it seems the club's owners' work is rubbing off on millionaire rapper Snoop Dogg. Speaking to the Daily Record, the 53-year-old, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has outlined his desire to become involved with sport, and in particular Celtic. 'I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham,' he said. 'It's just a great story. 'Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time. 'If the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it. 'I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them. 'There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe. The best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that. 'Their mascot is a hound. You couldn't make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that's gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.' Snoop has been pictured in a Celtic shirt in the past, also saying the club are 'his boys' in a previous interview.
