Egypt earns praise for hosting 2025 Pan Arab Golf Championship for Juniors and Ladies

Egypt has received widespread praise from Arab nations for its organisation of the 2025 Pan Arab Golf Championship for Juniors and Ladies, held this month with broad participation from 12 Arab countries.
Participants and golf enthusiasts commended Egypt for the level of organisation, the quality of the host clubs and courses at Madinaty and Katameya Dunes, and the diverse entertainment activities held alongside the major tournament. The event was organised by the Egyptian Golf Federation, chaired by Omar Hisham Talaat Moustafa, in cooperation with the Arab Golf Federation.
The championship commenced on Wednesday, 7 May, with a grand opening attended by Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports. Sobhy affirmed that hosting the tournament aligns with the state's vision to support sports and expand youth participation, particularly in specialised sports like golf. Omar Hisham Talaat Moustafa, President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, also participated in the opening, noting that the championship represents an important platform for discovering promising talents across the Arab world. He added, 'We seek to host international tournaments to restore Egypt's leadership in the sport of golf.'
Throughout the championship, players competed for titles at the Pan Arab Golf Championship for Juniors and Ladies on the courses of Madinaty and Katameya Dunes. This year's edition was also distinguished by the organisation of various entertainment events, such as a golf festival, which attracted hundreds of young people to promote the sport and expand its player base.
Participating players praised the excellent organisation of the current Pan Arab Golf Championship for Juniors and Ladies, highlighting the preparations made to ensure a competitive atmosphere and facilitate top performances. They also commended the standard of the courses and the availability of necessary facilities, in addition to the inclusion of entertainment activities for the first time at the championship level.

'Our partnership with Estadat—renowned for its expertise in sports investment and club management—ensures residents access to exceptional recreational and community-focused experiences.' City Club, owned and operated by Estadat, is known for delivering top-tier social, athletic, and entertainment amenities. The club adjacent to FLW Residence will feature a wide range of offerings including professional sports academies led by Olympic and world champions, as well as facilities such as a gym, e-sports center, kids' area, mosque, theater, restaurants, and retail outlets. It will also house cultural and women's centers, a conference hall, and administrative offices—creating a fully integrated community hub. El-Sebaey described the partnership as a key differentiator that enhances the investment appeal of the FLW Residence project, especially as it caters to all age groups and promotes a healthy, active lifestyle. FLW Residence, ZG Developments' latest and most prominent project, is strategically located on Al Wahat Road in West Cairo. In his keynote address, Ould Merzoug highlighted that enhanced economic and developmental cooperation among Arab nations is a key pillar for strengthening inter-Arab ties and advancing shared prosperity. He underscored Mauritania's commitment to accelerating regional economic integration, noting that stronger economic alliances can significantly boost Arab unity. 'The formation of powerful economic groupings is fundamental for achieving deeper cooperation and fostering sustainable development across the Arab world,' he said. Ould Merzoug also stressed the importance of expanding investment partnerships across Arab countries, leveraging available opportunities to support comprehensive development and mutual well-being. As part of this vision, the Mauritanian Foreign Minister proposed a new initiative focused on developing the "blue economy"—a sector he believes holds vast untapped potential for Arab nations. He called for enhanced regional collaboration to sustainably harness marine resources, which can become a long-term engine for economic growth and job creation. 'The Arab world possesses immense maritime wealth. Through coordinated efforts, we can transform these resources into sustainable growth avenues,' Ould Merzoug added.
