HANOI, VIETNAM –
Media OutReach Newswire
– 24 April 2025 – As climate change intensifies and sustainable practices become a global priority, businesses are increasingly called upon to address environmental challenges. Vingroup, a diversified conglomerate led by its Chairman – Vietnamese billionaire Phạm Nhật Vượng, has embraced this responsibility by developing a green ecosystem in Vietnam. This comprehensive approach integrates sustainable transportation, eco-friendly urban developments, and environmental initiatives, positioning the group to contribute meaningfully to both economic progress and environmental conservation.

Central to this ecosystem are efforts like VinFast's electric vehicles, Vinhomes' green urban projects, and Vinpearl's sustainable tourism practices. These initiatives demonstrate how a corporate strategy can align operational priorities with sustainability goals, aiming to lower greenhouse gas emissions, conserve resources, and promote environmentally friendly living.
Driving Sustainable Transportation, One EV At A Time
A key component of Vingroup's green ecosystem is its emphasis on sustainable transportation, driven by VinFast. Focused on producing electric vehicles, including cars, scooters, buses, and bicycles, VinFast plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions while aligning with global clean mobility trends.
In Q4 2024, the car company posted record-breaking sales in Vietnam, securing its position as the leading player in the domestic market. This milestone highlights a significant consumer shift toward sustainable transportation and reinforces VinFast's expanding role in addressing this growing demand.
In addition to VinFast's contributions, initiatives like Xanh SM and V-GREEN expand the ecosystem's impact. These programs promote electric ride-hailing services and invest in charging infrastructure, making sustainable transportation more accessible. By addressing urban mobility challenges and reducing air pollution, they form part of a broader strategy to integrate sustainability into urban planning.
Creating Sustainable Urban Spaces
Vingroup extends its environmental commitment to urban living through Vinhomes. These residential projects emphasize green spaces, renewable energy, and energy-efficient infrastructure. Certified green buildings within Vinhomes developments contribute to reduced energy consumption and align with international standards for sustainable urban development.
Vinhomes also encourages environmentally conscious practices among residents. Incentives such as vouchers for electric cars and scooters have led to increased adoption of clean transportation within these communities. Public spaces are designed to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, reinforcing a culture of sustainable urban living.
Vingroup's sustainability efforts further extend to Vinpearl, its tourism and hospitality division. Resorts and hotels under the Vinpearl brand incorporate waste reduction, water conservation, and biodiversity protection measures. Initiatives such as rainwater collection systems and closed-loop wastewater treatment highlight how tourism can operate responsibly while minimizing environmental impacts.
Supporting Broader Environmental Goals
Beyond its business operations, Vingroup advances environmental conservation through the Green Future Fund. This initiative supports renewable energy research, reforestation programs, and community engagement efforts. Activities like tree planting campaigns enhance ecosystems and promote greater awareness of sustainability.
Chairman Phạm Nhật Vượng's vision for a cohesive green ecosystem exemplifies how established businesses like Vingroup can balance economic development with environmental responsibility. By prioritizing sustainable transportation, eco-friendly urban living, and conservation, Vingroup aligns its operations with global initiatives to tackle climate challenges and promote sustainable development.

These Are The Best-Selling Cars In The US So Far In 2025
The first half of 2025's best-selling cars in the U.S. confirms America's long-standing love affair with trucks and SUVs. Pickup models from Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram continue to dominate the top ranks, while compact SUVs from Toyota and Honda also make strong showings. Sedans, once the default choice for many households, are now largely absent from the bestseller list. This ranking, via Visual Capitalist's Niccolo Conte, showcases the 20 best-selling vehicles in the U.S. from January through June 2025 using data from Cox Automotive and Automotive News via Kelley Blue Book. With 3.17 million cars sold across America's top 20 models in the first half of 2025, pickup trucks and SUVs dominate the top of the list, making up nine out of the top 10 most-sold cars. The data table below lists the top 20 car models and their sales figures for H1 2025, along with what kind of vehicle it is. Ford's F-Series led with 412,848 units, with the Chevrolet Silverado close behind at 284,038. The Toyota RAV4 (239,451) and Honda CR-V (212,561) were the leading compact SUVs, reflecting the segment's broad appeal. If you take a look at the best-selling cars by state, the Ford F-Series dominates the map, which is no surprise considering Ford is among the top three favorite car brands of every generation in America. Among the top 10 best-selling cars, pickups account for five spots and about 56% of volume, while SUVs take four spots and 36%. The top five models—three pickups and two compact SUVs—together make up about 42% of all top-20 sales. Sedans claim just one place in the top 10 with the Toyota Camry at 155,330 units sold in America in the first half of 2025. The Honda Civic (128,236) and Toyota Corolla (120,052) follow just outside of the top 10, joined by Tesla's Model 3 (101,323) in 17th place. Looking at the full top 20 sales by vehicle type, SUVs account for 47% of top-20 sales (1.49 million vehicles), followed by pickup trucks at 37% (1.17 million) and sedans at 16% (505,000). While sedans still find buyers, since 2015 a strong majority of car sales have continued to shift to crossovers and trucks. Infracorp Unveils Bahrain's First Sustainable Sukuk at UN Workshop
Infracorp, a leading specialised company in investing in the infrastructure and sustainable development sector, has announced its participation in a United Nations workshop recently held in Bahrain to highlight the Kingdom's contribution to global efforts in financing sustainable development. The company presented its pioneering experience in issuing Bahrain's first sustainable sukuk. Infracorp took part in a panel discussion entitled 'Innovative Financing Instruments: SDG-Linked Bonds and Sukuk'. Ms. Zeeba Askar, Chief Sustainability and Investment Officer at Infracorp, delivered a presentation titled 'Bahrain's First Sustainable Sukuk'. She outlined the company's transition from green sukuk to a broader sustainable sukuk framework in line with international trends for financing projects with environmental and social impact. Ms. Askar confirmed that Infracorp's sustainable sukuk framework is fully aligned with the ICMA's Green, Social and Sustainability Bond Principles, supports Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and is consistent with the United Nations SDGs. She added that the framework's governance is underpinned by an independent, accredited external opinion to ensure transparency and credibility. The company has mapped key performance indicators, adopted a rigorous project-selection mechanism based on expected outcomes, and issues regular reports to measure each project's environmental and social impact. Commenting on the occasion, Ms Askar said: 'Our objective went beyond issuing a conventional finance instrument; it was about setting a standard for what a Sustainable Sukuk should represent. We carefully built a framework aligned with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with measurable KPIs mapped across every eligible project. The result is a Sukuk rooted in transparency, governed by rigor, and driven by real-world impact.' The workshop highlighted Bahrain's leading efforts in development finance, including Islamic finance, SDG-linked bonds and the fintech sector, ahead of the fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), scheduled to take place in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, 2025. It brought together UN officials, public-sector representatives and private-sector partners to discuss the Kingdom's participation in the conference. FfD4 will serve as a pivotal platform to assess progress on global commitments to finance sustainable development and to address challenges that have emerged since the adoption of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda in 2015. The conference will gather high-level representatives from governments, international and regional organisations, financial and commercial institutions, the private sector, civil society and the United Nations system.

Vietnam's Vietjet orders 100 Airbus A321neo planes
Vietnamese carrier Vietjet has ordered 100 single-aisle A321neo jets from Airbus, the European plane maker said Tuesday in the latest deal announced at the Paris Air Show. The deal would be worth almost $13 billion under 2018 catalogue prices. It includes an option for Vietjet, Vietnam's largest private airline, to buy a further 50 of the jets at a later date. 'This new agreement marks a significant milestone in our strategic partnership with Airbus,' said Vietjet chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. 'These modern and efficient aircraft have been instrumental in Vietjet's growth, helping us make air travel more accessible and affordable for millions, while strengthening our role as a connector for economic development, cultural exchange and global connectivity,' she added. Airbus executive vice president Benoit de Saint-Exupery noted the deal followed hot on the heels of a new order by Vietjet for 20 A330neo widebody aircraft. 'Together the A321neo and A330neo will be perfect partners for Vietjet to continue to spread its wings, efficiently matching capacity more closely to demand across its network,' he said in a statement. Vietjet operates a fleet of more than 100 Airbus aircraft. As of the end of May, more than 7,000 A321neo aircraft -- the largest of Airbus' best-selling A320neo family -- have been ordered by over 90 customers worldwide, Airbus said. The Vietjet deal came a day after Airbus announced orders for a total of more than 100 planes from Saudi companies Riyadh Air and AviLease and Polish airline LOT. Those deals were worth nearly $20 billion at 2018 catalogue prices -- which Airbus has since phased out, as final sale prices vary according to contract terms and the version of an aircraft. Airbus rival Boeing has meanwhile said its focus at the Paris Air Show is on 'supporting customers' after the Air India crash last week.
