Stars sign D Nils Lundkvist to 1-year contract
June 20 - The Dallas Stars re-signed defenseman Nils Lundkvist to a one-year, $1.25 million contract on Friday.
Lundkvist, 24, recorded five assists and a plus-4 rating in 39 games this past season.
"Nils brings a unique combination of offensive ability and defensive reliability to our lineup," Stars general manager Jim Nill said in a statement.
"His puck-moving skills, vision, and hockey sense are assets that elevate our game in transition. We're thrilled to have him back and excited to see how he continues to grow and contribute to our success."
Lundkvist has totaled 44 points (nine goals, 35 assists) in 183 career games with the New York Rangers and Stars. The Swede was selected by the Rangers with the 28th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Draft before being traded to Dallas on Sept. 19, 2022 in exchange for a conditional first-round selection in the 2023 draft and a conditional fourth-round selection in the 2025 draft.
The Stars also signed forward Mavrik Bourque to a one-year, $950,000 contract extension. Bourque, 23, recorded 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 73 games last season.

June 20 - Cal Raleigh hit his MLB-leading 28th and 29th home runs of the season to help the visiting Seattle Mariners to a 9-4 win against the Chicago Cubs in the opener of their three-game series on Friday afternoon. Raleigh, who passed Johnny Bench for the most home runs by a catcher before the All-Star break, also singled, walked and scored four times. Mitch Garver also homered twice and drove in five runs, and Donovan Solano had three hits and an RBI for the Mariners, who have won five of seven. Seattle starter George Kirby allowed four runs and seven hits over five innings. The right-hander struck out three and walked one. Happ got the run back with a leadoff home run in the bottom half of the inning to tie it 1-1. The inning continued with a single by Tucker and a double to center by Seiya Suzuki. Kirby retired the next two batters without any damage, but Busch came through with a two-run single for a 3-1 lead. Boyd retired eight in a row following Raleigh's homer but then walked Raleigh his second time up with one out in the fourth. Raleigh stole second and scored on a two-out single to center by Solano to cut the lead to 3-2. Inter's Acerbi threatens PSG fan over Champions League taunting
MIAMI, June 20 (Reuters) - Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi lost his cool after a Club World Cup fan wearing a Paris St Germain shirt in Seattle taunted him about last month's Champions League final, with the Italian threatening to beat him up if the teasing continued. The fan brought up a humiliating moment from Inter's 5-0 defeat by the French champions in Munich, in which Acerbi was left sprawling after some dazzling footwork by Bradley Barcola. On a video that went viral on social media, the visibly annoyed Italian international sought the help of a translator during a meet-and-greet with fans. The translator told the fan in English on Thursday: "You must be serious with him." Seconds later, Acerbi stepped in to say in Italian: 'I'm serious. Don't make fun of me — I don't like it. ...
