Marvel's Lost Fantastic Four: Inside the infamous 1994 film that vanished before its release

Time of India7 days ago
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to become Marvel's fourth major adaptation of their seminal comic book series to be released in theaters. However, this is not the fourth Fantastic Four film that was produced overall.
An unreleased 1994 film, titled The Fantastic Four, has become a cult favorite among the hardcore Marvel fandom, with many fans curious about the story behind this obscure first attempt at bringing Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's iconic comics to the big screen.
The 1994 film starred Alex Hyde-White as Reed Richards, Rebecca Staub as Sue Storm, Jau Underwood as Johnny Storm and Michael Bailey-Smith as Ben Grimm, all of whom will cameo in First Steps.

While the 1994 film has never been officially released in any capacity, bootleg versions can be downloaded from the internet or viewed on YouTube and Dailymotion.
The first Fantastic Four film was never released
The 1994 Fantastic Four film was produced on a low budget, with the film being intended as an ashcan copy that would allow film producer Bernd Eichinger to retain the movie rights to the Marvel comics characters.
Eichinger collaborated with Roger Corman and New Horizons Pictures to produce the feature on a low budget in order to get things underway before Eichinger lost the film rights.
Bernd Eichinger's ulterior motives would end up preventing the 1994 film's release, catching the cast and crew unawares.
Director Oley Sassone and the cast had been hard at work trying to get the word out about their film, with the actors even hiring a publicist at their own expense.
Eventually, a film premiere was planned to take place at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, the proceeds of which would go to the charities Children Miracle's Network and the Ronald McDonald House.
However, all these plans were unceremoniously undone when Eichinger abruptly cancelled the premiere, sent everyone cease and desist letter, and sought to confiscate the negatives.
There are conflicting accounts on who stopped the film's release
Reflecting on the events, Stan Lee claimed that Eichinger had never planned to release the movie in the first place. Eichinger himself has disputed Lee's account, claiming that producer Avi Arad had talked him out of releasing the film.

Dale Steyn plays Devil's advocate, but did India really stretch the draw too far?

Ben Stokes' England has received heavy criticism from fans and cricket pundits alike over their handshake saga. The English side, which has often projected themselves as the guardians of the gentleman's game, came under fire for asking Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar to skip their individual milestones (hundreds) and put curtains on the 4th Test match at both India batters, who were approaching their hard-fought hundreds, declined the request of a mutual handshake, frustrating the England side, who by that time knew that they had let the game slip out of their act saw him get criticised by former England captain Alastair Cook, who blasted him on BBC. Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin was not kind as well, as he slammed the English team and their captain on his YouTube channel. While the majority of the cricketing world took India's side in the argument, former South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn offered a contrasting view on the incident."The only issue I see here is the one thing people aren't realising, the batters weren't playing for 100s, they were batting for a DRAW. That was the goal. Draw the game. Once that was accomplished, and a result was out of the question, a handshake was offered, that's the gentlemanly thing to do, right?" Steyn tweeted on Monday, July 28. Why Manchester Draw Felt Like a WinStill being the longest and the slowest amongst the three cricketing formats, Test cricket continues to harbour an incredibly passionate fanbase for the nature of the battle it offers. While T20 is quick and offers instant gratification, Test cricket demands endurance and sacrifice. In the 21st century, the whites continue to carry more pride than the coloured, sponsor-laden jerseys of the glitzier former India captain Virat Kohli, whose passion for the Test format oozed out even after winning the elusive IPL title, one that had teased him for 18 long said in his post-final speech that the feeling of winning the IPL was great, but it was still 5 rungs below a Test match victory.'This moment is right up there with the best moments I have had in my career, but it still marks 5 levels under Test cricket, that is how much I love Test cricket and that is how much I value Test cricket. I would just urge the youngsters coming through to treat that format with respect,' said Kohli after RCB's win.'Because if you perform in Test cricket, you walk around anywhere in the world, people look you in the eye, shake your hand and say well done, you played the game really well. So if you want to earn respect in world cricket all over, take up Test cricket, give your heart and soul to it and when you walk out with wonders the other side, then you gain respect to the cricket world with legends like yourself,' he that is perhaps where the draw in Manchester felt like a win. India were down and out on Day 4 after losing 2 wickets for 0 runs. But they did not bow out and continued to fight for their survival, keeping the series we head to London for the decider, one thing is clear — England were psychologically broken in Manchester. They had let a straightforward win slip out of their grasp and might just feel the remnants of it in the final game at The that could not have happened if India had drawn curtains on the game on Ben Stokes's terms.- Ends

'Maine churaya nahi...': RJ Mahvash breaks silence on trolls linking her to Yuzvendra Chahal's divorce

Mahvash Clarifies Her Stance on Cheating Addressing Trolls and Rumors Head-On Public Appearances Fueling Dating Buzz Maintaining Silence Amid Public Intrusion RJ and actor Mahvash has once again found herself in the middle of public scrutiny due to her rumored relationship with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal . The speculation intensified after Chahal's divorce from Dhanashree Verma earlier this year, with Mahvash being linked to the breakup. The controversy reignited following a recent video she posted online discussing what constitutes cheating in a relationship—prompting backlash and fresh trolling from social media her Instagram video, Mahvash addressed various forms of infidelity, stating that engaging in certain behaviors while in a relationship amounts to cheating. In a detailed caption accompanying the post, she emphasized that people who betray their partners often repeat the pattern. According to her, those individuals tend to carry their actions into future relationships as well, failing to understand the value of genuine love. She urged her followers to leave such partners behind, describing them as emotionally further shared her own experience of forgiving a former partner multiple times. She admitted that doing so only led to more emotional pain. She stressed that no one should tolerate repeated disrespect and that it's better to move on than to stay with someone incapable of change. Her message to those affected by betrayal was direct: recognize the red flags early, and don't allow yourself to be emotionally worn down.A particular comment under Mahvash's post accused her of 'stealing someone's husband,' clearly alluding to her rumored link with Chahal. In response, she wrote that she hadn't stolen anyone's husband, so she wouldn't know—but affirmed that doing so would indeed be cheating. 'Maine churaya nahi islye I wouldn't know but yes kisika pati churana CHEATING."Mahvash's comments appeared to indirectly respond to online chatter suggesting she was responsible for Chahal and Dhanashree's split. The remark 'kisika pati churana cheating hota hai' (stealing someone's husband is cheating) was interpreted by some as a counter to Dhanashree's previous cryptic neither party confirming the relationship, Mahvash and Chahal have been spotted together on multiple occasions. They were seen attending the Champions Trophy final in Dubai and were also spotted during IPL events. At one point, Mahvash was seen on the Punjab Kings team bus with other WAGs, further adding to the speculation. These instances occurred both before and after Chahal's divorce was finalized, leading many to link the timeline of their association with the breakdown of his to the buzz, fellow cricketer Rishabh Pant jokingly commented on Chahal's 'engagement' during a YouTube video, prompting even more curiosity from Mahvash has been vocal in defending herself against allegations and speaking on broader issues like self-worth and infidelity, she and Chahal have consistently refrained from confirming or denying their relationship. The lack of clarity has only allowed speculation to Mahvash recently appeared in the web series Pyaar Paisa Profit, which also stars Pratik Yadav, Ashish Raghav, Shivangi Khedkar, and Neil Bhoopalam, and is available for streaming on MX Player.
