LeBron James' wife pushing him to ‘f–king retire' next year after he re-ups with Lakers
Savannah James is urging LeBron to retire.
The Lakers superstar exercised his $52.6 million option for 2025-26, bypassing free agency to return to Los Angeles for his 23rd NBA season.
The 2003 No.1 overall pick revealed this during a dinner outing in New York with his wife, Savannah, Miami Heat and former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love and his wife, Kate, among others.
One of the dinners guests posted a snippet on Instagram of the conversation where James can be heard saying, 'Savannah wants me to f–king retire in the next year or so.'
His agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that while LeBron 'appreciates the partnership' with the Lakers, he 'values a realistic chance of winning it all' and will be closely monitoring the team's offseason moves.

At 40 years old, turning 41 this coming December, James continues to perform at a star level, especially on offense.
James ended year 22 averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds.
Despite his on-court production, the Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who later reached the Western Conference finals before losing to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

Paul offered further insight into the possibility of retirement, which will continue to hang over James every season now that he's in his 40s.
'We want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career,' Paul told ESPN. 'He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him.'
The Lakers, who made the major deal with the Mavericks for Luka Dončić this past season, are still attempting to compete in the West, but it's unclear if they'll be championship-level good for this coming year.

New baby shower trend avoids ‘I hate people watching me open gifts' awkwardness
In news that might make you want to do a little happy dance, expectant moms are changing up their approaches to gifts at baby showers. 'Display Showers' are growing in popularity; where hosts encourage guests to bring their presents unwrapped, with simply a tag identifying who it's from. The gifts are then 'displayed' in an arrangement where people can still see and talk about the products, but aren't held hostage to an hour of unwrapping, and pretend oohing over every item. What is a 'Display Shower'? Babylist, a registry site for parents-to-be, recently surveyed users to understand what's driving the trend. According to their research, skipping the public present opening takes the pressure off the mom-to-be, and gives guests more time to enjoy each other's company. 'I am pretty introverted and feel awkward opening so many gifts in front of everyone, but I know some people really love seeing all the baby stuff, so I thought this was a perfect way to please everyone,' a pregnant woman told the site. Additionally, many parents shared they valued decreasing waste, and the costs associated with wrapping. 3 The gifts are then 'displayed' in an arrangement where people can still see and talk about the products. pressmaster – Respondents' main tip when it came to hosting a Display Shower? Be super clear on the invitation about naming gifts, but keep track of who brought what, in case anyone didn't quite understand. According to the survey, most moms found that the Display Shower was embraced by others, but a few encountered some resistance. 'All of the pushback was from older generations. I just explained why I was doing it and sometimes had to simply say because I didn't want to,' one commented. 'Nice to not sit through an hour of gift unwrapping' 3 According to the survey, most moms found that the Display Shower was embraced by others, but a few encountered some resistance. 'We'll display your gifts for all to see, and enjoy celebrating the mommy-to-be!' Some did suggest that the name – Display Shower – could come across strangely, so opted for something different like 'no-wrap shower.'

Lakers rumors: Contenders lurking after Dorian Finney-Smith declines $15.4 million option
The post Lakers rumors: Contenders lurking after Dorian Finney-Smith declines $15.4 million option appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Los Angeles Lakers' biggest goal this offseason has to be addressing their lack of depth and getting a big man or two in the room after gutting their roster to acquire Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks last offseason. While Los Angeles waits to see what big men it can make a run after, it was also waiting on the decision from Dorian Finney-Smith. Advertisement Finney-Smith had a player option worth $15.4 million this offseason, and he is choosing to hit the open market instead. The former Maverick has officially declined his player option and will be a free agent when it opens on Monday, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Charania also stated that there will be contending teams that are after Finney-Smith in free agency. 'Los Angeles Lakers forward Dorian Finney-Smith is declining his $15.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season and will enter free agency, sources tell ESPN,' Charania reported on X, formerly Twitter. 'Multiple contending teams are expected to pursue Finney-Smith beginning Monday night and a Lakers return is possible.' While the Lakers are still in play for Finney-Smith, it appears that it's going to take a substantial raise in order to keep him in Los Angeles. The Florida product has an ideal skillset on the wing for a contender, with the ability to guard elite perimeter scorers and also knock down open shots from the 3-point line. Advertisement He did just that for the Lakers last season, making nearly 40% of his triples after arriving in Los Angeles following a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. He was also a big piece of the defense for JJ Redick and company and was one of the few players that the first-year head coach trusted in the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Finney-Smith played with Doncic during their time in Dallas and they even went to the Western Conference Finals together in 2022, so those two already have good chemistry together. As a result, the Lakers may decide that it's worth paying a premium to keep the 32-year old around for the long haul as they pivot to building for the future around their new superstar.
