Germany through to Women's Euro semis after shootout win over France
German defender Kathrin Hendrich was sent off after 13 minutes for pulling an opponent's hair, and Grace Geyoro opened the scoring for France from the resulting penalty.
Germany hit back with a superb equaliser when Sjoeke Nuesken flashed a header from a Klara Buehl corner into the net in the 25th minute.
France had two goals ruled out for offside and Nuesken had a second-half penalty for the Germans saved.
With neither side able to fashion a goal in extra time, the game went to penalties, with Berger both firing home herself and then saving Alice Sombath's penalty to send Germany through.

MONT-DE-MARSAN, France (Reuters) -England concluded preparations for their hosting of the Women's Rugby World Cup with a convincing away victory over France, winning 40-6 on Saturday in their last warm-up international before the tournament kicks off later in the month. England -- who have contested the last six World Cup finals, a run that includes their 2014 triumph -- produced a dominant performance and will be heading to the tournament brimming with confidence as they scored six tries without reply against their hosts. Soccer-Uruguay striker Nunez joins Al-Hilal from Liverpool
(Reuters) -Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez has joined Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal from Premier League champions Liverpool on a three-year deal, both clubs said on Saturday. Financial details of the transfer were not revealed but British media reported that the Saudis paid 53 million euros ($61.69 million) to the Anfield outfit. "Al-Hilal Club Company is pleased to announce the signing of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from Liverpool FC on a three-year contract," the Saudi club said on their website. "Nunez has just joined the squad during the current pre-season training camp in Germany," Al Hilal added.
