EXCLUSIVE Inside the cocktail of chaos for stars of Beauty and the Geek - as show pin-up Tamika Chesser is accused of killing and beheading her boyfriend
Chesser, 34, is accused of killing and decapitating her boyfriend Julian Story on June 17 before carrying his head in a bag to an unknown location and dumping it.
She has been charged with murder and is being held in James Nash House, a forensic mental health care facility.
Chesser, a former cocktail waitress, was thrust into the spotlight at the age of 19 when she appeared on series two of the Seven Network show in 2010.
Hailed as a standout star, she was promised a chance at finding true love on the feel-good TV show as the Australian public cheered her on.
But when the cameras stopped rolling on the quirky challenges and scripted smiles, few were prepared for what came next.
Jordan Finlayson, another star on Beauty and the Geek, claims fellow contestants were gagged from speaking out for years, and left to deal with the crash from fame without fortune while rebuilding their lives as the spotlight moved on.
It was after her stint on series three in 2011, that Finlayson, then 20, began her descent into toxic relationships and drugs.
In 2020, she spent time in jail for drug supply, and in 2023 she was arrested for driving with ice in her system.
Finlayson has 11 convictions related to drug use on her record.
'After the show, I had some incredible years dancing and cheerleading, modelling, travelling, and working in Ibiza,' Finlayson told Daily Mail Australia.
'But eventually, I spiralled and I made some really bad decisions.
'I'm not blaming the show for my actions, but I do believe the experience contributed massively to my mental health struggles, which eventually led me to self-medicate.'
Finlayson said she tried to seek help when her life began to unravel, but had slid too far into paranoia.
'There's definitely a grieving period not just for the attention, but for the version of yourself you thought you'd get to keep being,' Finlayson said.
'I remember seeing a counsellor, and the first thing she said to me was, "You're that girl from Beauty and the Geek."
'I didn't feel comfortable opening up after that. I didn't believe she'd understand what I was going through, or that I could trust her not to tell people.'
The former NRL cheerleader also highlighted the restrictive nature of draconian post-show contracts that silenced contestants for years.
She said the wild side of recognition without reward left many contestants spiralling in private while maintaining a picture-perfect facade.
'You're in a contract where you can't talk about the show and what goes on behind the scenes for 10 years, so you're left with no choice but to deal with it alone,' she said.
'Adjusting back to a normal life isn't just hard, it can feel crushing. The jobs feel smaller, your inbox is emptier, and your mental health quietly takes a hit.
'If you say you're struggling, people think you're being dramatic or ungrateful and tell you, "you were lucky to be on TV."
'But they don't see the emotional comedown, the loneliness, or the pressure to keep up appearances when you're not okay inside.'
While Finlayson had never met Chesser in person, she says the pair did talk now and again after the show.

Finlayson said she was horrified as the grisly details of Chesser's alleged crime were made public.
Emergency services discovered the body of 39-year-old Story in a unit on the Flinders Highway in Port Lincoln on June 19.
Police allege Chesser murdered him and later set fire to his body before placing his head in a bag and carrying it down the street as she walked her dog.
His head is still missing.

Ex-Met detective ‘died in fire after police arrived to arrest him'
A former Metropolitan Police detective died in a house fire which was started shortly after officers arrived at his home to arrest him, an inquest heard. Malcolm Baker, 60, had locked himself in his bedroom after a confrontation with his wife. When officers went upstairs to speak to him they smelt petrol, which was pouring through the ceiling into the lounge, and evacuated the house. The thatched cottage caught fire and was destroyed in the blaze on the evening of Sept 14, 2022 in Brompton Regis near Dulverton, Somerset. Baker retired from the Met in 2011 and moved to Somerset, where he ran a security consultancy with his wife. Somerset Coroner's Court heard police had been called several times that summer by Francesca Onody, Baker's wife, after she made allegations of domestic abuse and financial fraud. The couple had been married nearly 20 years and had two children together but were in the process of divorcing. Ms Onody said he became 'very angry' when he found out she wanted a divorce. She said she had concerns about Baker's mental health and heavy drinking, but he never sought medical help because he did not want to compromise his security vetting. Ms Onody said she spoke to a police officer about her husband. Dead rabbit on bed 'I highlighted to him that Malcolm's behaviour was getting quite strange and more threatening, and I was really worried about Malcolm's mental health,' she said. 'On one occasion Malcolm left a dead rabbit in my bed.' Ms Onody told the hearing Mr Baker had been storing 125 litres of petrol in five canisters around their large home. On the day of the fire, Ms Onody had called the police at about 5pm and while on the call Baker had pulled the phone cable from the wall socket. After he went upstairs she reconnected the phone and called the police again. 'We heard him dragging furniture,' she said. 'The children and I were downstairs in the lounge and the police arrived and they told us they were going to arrest him and they were going to go upstairs and break down his door.' The inquest heard that no one saw Mr Baker alive again. Limited remains of his body were recovered from the detached property. Pathologist Dr Deborah Cook gave a cause of death as unascertained. Gabriella Onody, the couple's adult daughter, had returned to the family home a few weeks before. Fuel piled up in the house In a written statement, she told the hearing: 'As I moved back home in mid-August it seemed like dad was planning something. 'I noticed fuel piled up in the house, in entryways and in outbuildings and around the same time we became aware he cancelled the house insurance. 'He was locking himself in his bedroom. In the week before the fire he was quieter, less abusive and less aggressive. 'The day of the fire, he was desperately trying to find conflict with anything. He was just screaming and shouting. 'He was drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol every day. Cider was his main drink and bottles of wine.'

Three arrested after fatal Knightsbridge stabbing
Three men have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death Knightsbridge, central London, last week. Blue Stevens, 24, died at the scene near Hyde Park, last Wednesday in what police believe could have been a targeted attack. Three men in their 20s have been arrested, the Metropolitan Police said. Two were arrested at an address in Hounslow on Saturday, the force added. One man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He remains in police custody. Another man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed pending further inquiries. The third man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in police custody. Officers, ambulance and air ambulance services responded to reports of a stabbing in Seville Street, near Hyde Park, at around 9.30pm on Wednesday where Stevens was found with stab wounds and died at the scene. Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah said officers 'retain an open mind around motive', but one line of inquiry is now that this may have been a 'targeted attack'. Following their arrests, Met officers obtained a warrant to search two properties in Chiswick where 'significant evidence' was recovered, the Met Police said. Detective Chief Superintendent Jessah, who leads policing in Central West London, said: 'These arrests mark a significant milestone in this complex and unfolding murder investigation. 'We continue to progress at pace. While we retain an open mind around motive, one line of inquiry is now that this may have been a targeted attack. 'Increased police patrols remain active in and around the Knightsbridge area. Please do speak with an officer if you have any questions or concerns.' The incident happened near luxury hotel The Park Tower Knightsbridge but did not involve any guests or staff, according to a Marriott spokesperson. Mr Stevens' next of kin continue to be supported by specialist officers.
