New Educational and Career Space announced in Cambria County
SOUTH FORK, Pa. (WTAJ) — In partnership with the South Fork Public Library, the Forest Hills School District announced Wednesday the grand opening of a new educational and career-focused space.
Mini-Park Village will offer students experience with career exploration, civic engagement, and academic skills that they can apply to the real world. The goal of the space is to build community while also shaping future career paths. The space was made possible through collaboration with educators, community leaders, and the local government, with state-level funding through the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) grant.
'The opening of Mini-Village Park represents more than just a new community space – it reflects our shared commitment to building neighborhoods where families can gather, children can play safely, and everyone feels a sense of belonging. This park is a symbol of progress, partnership, and pride in our community,' Stacey Lewis, Treasurer at South Fork Library, said.
Residents and families are invited to join the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 11, at Noon at the South Fork Library located at 320 Main Street, South Fork, PA.
The ceremony will include speeches from local community leaders, students, and project partners, and will also include tours of the facility.

Pennsylvania parks officials learn tips for building; connecting trails
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Parks and recreation officials attended a learning seminar to help develop more trails in the state. The Trail Symposium, held at Brass 16823 on Axemann Road, drew over 75 people to a daylong session focused on creating efficient trails for running, biking, and equestrian use. Topics of discussion ranged from planning to fundraising, design and marketing. 'It's a very broad interest, but that's how the National Parks Service trails get on the ground,' Mary Monroe Brown, senior vice president of advocacy and engagement for the International Mountain Bicycling Association, said. 'It's a collaboration of all these groups and people understanding this vision of trails.' State grant awarded to Cambria County Historical Society to preserve century-old Buck House Attendees got a chance to network and share ideas in between sessions about their management of trails. These ideas were a way to take each piece of advice back to the home trails and create ways to connect each trail for a larger network of paths. With each connection, a new way to attract visitors and boost local commerce arises. 'The people that go hiking, camping and mountain biking, they spend a lot of money on their affinity and their recreation,' Phillip Millburn, the vice president of IMBA, said. 'The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has this data to back this case up. The economic potential is significant.' Pennsylvania has 650 trails that span over 14,000 miles. No more planning applications are needed for EV charging point installations as the government cuts red tape. The Statement of Claim includes allegations of shareholder oppression under the Canada Business Corporations Act, as well as breach of contract and wrongful dismissal. Mr. Khoshbin founded Prollenium in 2002 while still a university student. Over the next two decades, he developed the company into a global aesthetics business, with proprietary R&D, advanced manufacturing facilities, and distribution in over 80 countries. Prollenium is the only company manufacturing hyaluronic acid dermal fillers in North America and is the manufacturer of the globally recognized dermal filler brand Revanesse®. In 2021, Mr. Khoshbin sold a majority stake in the company to ArchiMed, a European private equity firm, while continuing in his role as CEO and remaining a significant minority shareholder and board director. In the Statement of Claim, Mr. Khoshbin alleges that following the acquisition, ArchiMed began operating the company in a manner that sidelined minority shareholders, focused on short-term financial objectives, and diverged from prior representations about long-term growth and innovation. The claim states that Mr. Khoshbin was gradually excluded from key governance decisions and was ultimately removed from his role without cause. The Statement of Claim alleges that Mr. Khoshbin did not voluntarily resign but was instead removed by board vote on April 4, 2025, contrary to public statements made by the Defendants at the time of Mr. Khoshbin's termination. The claim further alleges that Mr. Khoshbin's termination was not preceded by any formal performance process, and that he had expressed willingness to support an orderly transition.
