Adams excited for Hibs' European challenge
As the reigning SWPL champions, Hibs have the chance to play Champions League football.
They face Danish side Fortuna Hjorring on 27 August, and striker Eilidh Adams says everyone at the club is "really excited" about the challenge.
"For me and quite a lot of the other girls, it's a new experience," she said.
"I've never played European football before so there's teams you're not familiar with, not really sure what to expect but it's an opportunity to go out there and show what we can do."
Adams is aiming high this season in terms of personal targets.
"Obviously, as a striker, it's the goal tally, I scored 27 last season," she added.
"So this season I'll be looking to hit the 30 mark if I can."
And she's hoping that kind of form will continue to attract the attention of the Scotland head coach Melissa Andreatta.
After making her Scotland senior debut against Austria in the Nations League in February of this year, she won her first start four days later against the Netherlands and wants to experience the "privilege" of representing her country again.
"I think it'll be hard to beat last season," Adams said.
"It wasn't until the end of the season that I kind of reflected on it and thought, wow, that was incredible for me, what I achieved."
"It's just about trying to continue with my form, keep improving season upon season.
"So I'll be trying to put myself in the best possible position to hopefully get called up again."

A Ryder Cup putt changed his life. Now he's the captain of the United States team.
Keegan Bradley fondly recalls the putt that altered his life forever. Bradley was in attendance at the 1999 Ryder Cup at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, when he watched Justin Leonard sink a 45-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole — effectively winning the tournament. That swing of the club motivated Bradley, then 13 years old, to pursue his dream even harder. 'I was golf obsessed, but that pushed me into some crazy mode,' Bradley told NBC News on Monday. 'I just couldn't believe how amazing the tournament was.' Now, 26 years later, Bradley is not only the 13th-ranked golfer in the world, he also will be the captain of the United States team for the 45th iteration of the Ryder Cup. The tournament — which features two teams of 12 golfers from the United States and Europe facing off in a match play format — will take place from Sept. 26-28 at Bethpage State Park in New York. Six Americans have already automatically qualified for the team, while six more will be selected at Bradley's discretion (including, possibly, himself). Bradley, 39, was named captain of the team in July 2024. He will be the youngest captain of a Ryder Cup squad since Arnold Palmer in 1963. That year was also the last a golfer served as both captain and player — a dual role several of Bradley's contemporaries have said he should serve next month. 'In any profession, the respect of your peers is what you cherish the most,' Bradley said. 'To hear the boys say that is probably one of the highlights of my career. But my job when they asked me to be captain is put the best team on the course at Bethpage. 'I don't care if I play, if I don't play, as long as we win. Whatever decision I make with regards to that is what I think is best for the team to win.' Bradley wouldn't reveal his picks Monday, though he said he had a 'pretty good idea' of the direction he wanted to go. Whoever Bradley selects will be tasked with stopping what one could argue has been an era of European dominance. Europe has won eight of the last 11 Ryder Cups dating back to 2002. Bradley, however, views things differently. 'To be perfectly honest with you, we've traded home and away Ryder Cups since 2008 with the exception of 2012,' he said. 'We're right around even. Certainly the guys on this team have no clue what happened in the early 2000s. I think that's sort of a misconception.' Bradley himself will be looking for his first Ryder Cup win. He was a member of the 2012 and 2014 teams, which both lost. Still, Bradley looks back on those competitions fondly, particularly off the course, where he got to share bus rides and a locker room with the likes of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. For now, Bradley is trying to enjoy the process of being captain. He said he appreciates the support from fans he's received over the last year, while also admitting his duties are getting more stressful as the cup approaches. (Among those duties was unveiling the team's new Ralph Lauren uniforms on the 'TODAY' show on Monday.) Bradley has leaned on his vice captains as he navigates the lead-up to September, in particular mentioning Jim Furyk as one of his most trusted advisers. A huge Boston sports fan, Bradley drew a parallel to the Red Sox when discussing how his team can succeed at Bethpage. 'You put together a good team, a team that's close, a team that plays hard, and you can win.'

Napoli could drop Lukaku from Champions League and Serie A squad lists after injury
Monday's reports claim that Napoli could be tempted to drop Romelu Lukaku from both their Champions League and Serie A squad lists as he is set to miss a significant chunk of the first half of the 2025-26 through injury. The Belgian came off injured during a 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Olympiacos on Thursday evening with an apparent thigh injury. Napoli confirmed on Monday that Lukaku has reported for assessment, and that the tests have revealed a 'high-grade injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his thigh.' (Photo by) Initial reports indicate that the 32-year-old will be out of action until November at the earliest, potentially even longer. As a result, there have already been suggestions that Napoli could return to the transfer market to find a new centre-forward to compete with Lorenzo Lucca, the only other recognised senior striker in Antonio Conte's squad as things stand. Joshua Zirkzee is among the frontrunners, with reports that Jean-Philippe Mateta, Nikola Krstovic, Artem Dovbyk and Andrea Pinamonti are also of interest. (Photo by) Sky: Napoli could drop Lukaku from official squad lists Given that Lukaku is set to miss at least three months at the start of the 2025-26 campaign, Sky Sport Italia claim that Napoli could potentially drop him from their Champions League and Serie A squads. PARMA, ITALY – MAY 18: Antonio Conte, Head Coach of Napoli, looks on prior to the Serie A match between Parma and Napoli at Stadio Ennio Tardini on May 18, 2025 in Parma, Italy. (Photo by) Serie A rules state that clubs must have no more than 25 players in their official squad list, at least eight of whom must be homegrown, and at least four who have graduated through the club's own academy. It is a similar situation with UEFA, whose rules state that clubs competing in the Champions League must have a squad limit of 25 players, eight of whom are 'locally trained', and again, four of them must be 'club trained'. There is an opportunity for clubs to make alterations to their squad lists midway through the season, which means that if Lukaku is left off the Partenopei squad at the start of the 2025-26 season, he could still return in the new year.

Robert MacIntyre, Tyrrell Hatton clinch automatic qualifying spots on European Ryder Cup team
He was unable to fend off Scottie Scheffler and win the BMW Championship, but Robert MacIntyre did earn himself an automatic qualifying spot on the European team for the 2025 Ryder Cup. MacIntyre and Tyrrell Hatton each officially made the squad on Monday when the team rankings were updated. In fact, MacIntyre is now second behind Rory McIlroy among the Euros. Tommy Fleetwood is No. 3, Justin Rose is No. 4 and Hatton is No. 5. That leaves just one automatic spot left, and the latest rankings show a flip at No. 6. Last week it was Sepp Straka, but he's now No. 7, while Shane Lowry is the new No. 6. The Betfred British Masters, this week's event on the DP World Tour, is the final tournament before the top six auto qualifiers are finalized. Then, it'll be up to European team captain Luke Donald to make his six selections to round out the 12-man squad for Bethpage in September.
